Such a great community library! There is an incredible selection in all areas (children's, teen's, non- fiction, etc), a ton of movies (documentaries are free, others are like $1 for the week) and events going on all the time. The stained glass alone (in the main floor of the children's wing) is worth a visit! A library card also gives though access to a ton of online resources (digi and audio books and magazines). The librarians are also very friendly and knowledgable.

Absolutely awesome library. I can’t recommend this place enough. We have almost always found the books we wanted to read and they have a good sized media department. One dollar for a movie can’t be beat. The one time I had a issue and I got a call about fines from a very aggressive employee. I came in and spoke the desk about it and told them I never rented that book. They apologized, corrected the issue and waived the fine

This rating is to emphasize how difficult this library is for someone who wants to check out a book. That's all I wanted and it was a ridiculously difficult thing to do. Finding it with their extremely outdated system was impossible for me (not for the librarian, so I guess you need a four year degree to use it) but it was being processed which meant I had to wait a few weeks before I could check it out. Then I went to check it out and their self checkout took a year and two librarians to work. In Colorado, where I just moved from, checking out one book would take 3 minutes from entering the library to leaving. This took 50 minutes. Besides that I had a list of other books and audio books I wanted to check out. Guess how many they had? None. This library is the worst stocked library I've ever been to. It's mostly the search system I hate. I used to listen to audio books streaming from my Colorado library. This one has no such options.

I grew up in Orem and love this library. The children's section is massive and it is easy to wander for hours, picking up various books, thumbing through them and eventually leaving with an armful of literature that you'll never be able to finish before they're due.

For those who have read several Vince Flynn / Mitch Rapp books this new book is a shallow attempt to ride Flynn's excellence. Little character development. Inconsistency with Flynn's characters. It leaves you disappointed you spent the time to read it. That's the end of the Flynn saga for me. He was amazing.

We are big fans of the Orem Library children's section. We especially like the read along books, Spanish language books and easy access to the Parent Education Resource Center in the basement. My kids call it the toy library.

This is such a cool and awesome public library. There are a few different sections and it takes a while to walk from one side to the other side. The people working here are friendly. They keep trying new modern library technologies, so I think they have a pretty big budget. It's in a beautiful old building. The grounds are awesome! They have a lot of great trees that look really cool. It's right by the police office, so it feels safe. And it's right by Orem park.

Yes, the selection is great. We love the programs and events put on. It's an overall great library. But a gentle warning to all, especially those who have children: they will nickel and dime you to death! I cannot tell you how many times I have been called with complaints like, "There's a scuff mark on the cover," or, "There's a page bent", etc. I have gone in at least three times to report on a book with "coloring damage", only to discover it's a small pencil mark. Each time I take an eraser and quickly erase the "damage". Voila! $7 fee avoided. I have fully admitted and paid for real damage that I know my children or I have done, but this library seems extreme and hell bent on collecting as much money for any little thing possible. Needing cash for that unnecessary and insanely expensive Center for Story?

LOVE this place! We go at least a few times a month -great selection of movies, books, documentaries, children's books, music, books on tape, and they have Book Club check-outs where you can check out 12 or more of the same book for your book club and you get to keep those for 6 weeks. It's so awesome!

I've been to libraries all over the country and Orem's library is one of the best I've been to pretty much anywhere. I'm glad they charge a rental fee for the movies. Otherwise they'd end up having a selection like Provo...

I love this library! I have a baby and they have a huge selection of board books and picture books. It also has several cozy chairs and couches to read with him. If you have kids, be sure to visit the website and see when the different story and singing times are. Another plus is that it is on the same block as a huge park, so it's easy to plan an afternoon in that area. I heard that they offer free tutoring to anyone with an Orem library card as well.

I wish the Orem Library would allow us to place holds on books and materials via their website like the Provo Library does. It's so much easier and faster to just receive an email notice that the books are on hold and ready to pick up. Having to call the Orem Library and wait to be transferred to the correct department and wait for that department to go find the book and then wait for another department to find another book is time consuming.

I love the library but the customer service really stinks sometimes. My dad died so I went home for 10 days for the funeral and to help my mom. My library books came due during the 10 days I was gone. The library staff refused to wave my late fees. Really?

I have often found books and DVDs here that I could not find at other local libraries. And the staff have been very helpful and friendly to me. Great place.

I love the Orem Library. They have books and event for all ages. I have personally enjoyed the children section. They have a large selection of board books which are great for my little guy. Also, They have lap time and story time Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10 and 10:30 every week. I love taking my little one to lap time its very interactive. They read books and sing songs. It's fun to see their little minds grow. If you are an Orem resident your library card is free. All you need is proof of address. It's a great place to bring kids during all seasons.

I only give two stars because in the end I achieved what id fundamentaly arrived to do. I have enjoyed libraries all my life, and they have been something of a saving grace for me many times. In all, I have been able to do what I need with relative ease. However, not here. If you're someone like me who just moved to the Orem area, dont even think about getting a card; they wont let you. This is the only library where I've seen their obnoxious rule of needing several different documents to prove you live here and thus be eligible for a card. I found the attendants particularly apathetic to my situation. I did find out that you can still use their computer for free, but I then discovered what a wreck their operating systems are. I came to, ironically, type a book I'm writing, and after getting several pages in, found out that I had no way on the computer to transfer my file to my jump drive. In my attempt, it would seem that my file was deleted (if you happen to find it, enjoy the opening words of my story, I suppose). I have never had such a disheartening experience in a library, neither here nor in other countries I've been to. The upside to this library is they have a great selection of books in a nice setting (if you can Check them out) and great events that happen often. Go there for those, not to use their public services. You'll find yourself more culturally enriched, not frustrated like I am.
