REVIEWS OF Marriott Library IN Utah

This is truly a fabulous library. The sheer amount of books and journals you have access to is very thorough for a graduate student, and the study areas are really top notch. They have group study rooms available, private quiet floors, areas you can eat, areas you can ride a bike while studying, a place you can take a break and do a puzzle... the list goes on.

Nina Borzoni

This is a nice place to study for school, I like the different atmospheres available for seating. The water isn’t tasty to me, which makes me not want to be there as often.

Laurie Dubois

Compare to other universities’ libraries this one is by far my favorite. The quality of the building, furniture, equipment, services is way above average. A great place to study or simply be on campus. Those who said they couldn’t find a quiet spot did not look well enough, out of the commons area. On the other hand, it could be hard to find a spot where talking is allowed.

i just get so mad that the library closes on weekend night now. I also hate how the store down stares closes at 10 becaue hen there is no where to get food.

Kerem Cantekin

I wish it was open for a longer time. But still a good place to work, good book collections. It computer lab could be improved though.

In general a good place to study. Lots of people. Overpriced food. The norm on a college campus.

Beautiful interior design and packed with resources (and even more resources on their website). Great place to study while on campus. The library has a lot of reference books, a computer lab, tables for groups to work together, a couple dining options (including a burrito machine), and a location to tIe proctored exams.

Best place to study and find resources you need to get your school work done! The place is clean, staff is friendly and helpful, and its a really cool building. There are many different ways and places to study here from outside the library to little study cubicles. The Marriott library is my favorite place to be on campus!

Excellent with the availability of electronics, even able to check out charging cables. This is the place to go to get free software as a u student. Very few good quiet places to study, and what places there are are always taken. I have always found a friend here though.

Hunter Jenkins

Lots of resources for students

Jon Wiggins

Great place to come study. The environment is easy to focus in with little to no distractions. There are lots of computers and spaces to study. I like the 2nd level where all the computers are. It's open until 1:00 a.m, so I'm able to get so much done when I come here. Also, there is a great Cafè downstairs where you can get food and beverages as long as it's open.

Preston Baggaley

Such a great place to study! I love the cubicle seats on the second floor, they allow you to focus better on your work.

J Makoto Smith

Lots of books in German. Many older books in stacks are heavily damaged. Special Collections has a lot on Utah history.

Carlow Lorrie

Hard to believe that anyone could think this is a serious academic library. It closes at 8 pm on the weekend and doesn’t open until 9 am. A lot of library space has been taken up by cafes. The students really aren’t into research or study.

Huge library with a perfect environment for studying.

As a student at the U, I go here for almost everything. One of my favorite things about the library is the ability to reserve study rooms for groups, specific to what you need. For example, there are rooms on the 2nd floor of the library that have Mac's and screen on the wall that it is attached to so that everyone in the group can see it. The librarians are knowledgeable, and the collection of books and resources is vast; much more expansive than I will ever have time to explore fully.

Manuel Zamora

It has everything.

It's a really good library has a lot of options, has a cafeteria and can borrow stuff if you're a student. However it can get very crowded and hard to find a seat sometimes.

Lokesh Chanana

It even has a cry closet

Great library with a wide range of tools!

Great place to study. If you are looking for a quiet spot try the grand reading room on level 3 or behind the reserve desk on level 2. Also there is a family reading room that students with kids have access to with computers and toys in it.

I normally have really positive experiences in the Marriott, but one of the Knowledge Commons Supervisors, Daniel, refused to help me with "lost item" fees that weren't advertised or warned about involving an overdue laptop. I had paid the late fees I'd accrued, but I had never heard of this fee poised against a student. He was very abrasive as I tried to state my case against the hidden fee, walked away, and then I listened to him refuse to help an older gentleman because he was "too busy" (doing what? Who knows. Certainly not his job) I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but this guy was a horrible customer servant, and doesn't deserve to work with the other lovely people at the library

Not gonna lie, love this school. Very diverse which is something I like seeing. But college is a time when children become adults, and also learn where they fit in society, Along with where they fit on their political views. I used to consider myself very Democratic growing up. But now that I've had time to explore the right, I find myself more right winged centric. This school is VERY divided. But weighs a lot to the left in it's students and professors. I walked into the library today to see an entire section dedicated to public student art that is more or less the physical embodiment of an echo chamber(when one party only tells why their viewpoints are correct and the other side is wrong). Posters, board games, flip books, all dedicated to misnaming the United States as haters of all other places but their own. Trump hate propaganda covered the walls, and the school supported this hate to the president. Now, I'm not the biggest supporter of Trump, he is not the best human being on Earth. But I don't think anyone deserves an entire floor dedicated to hating you. It's just inhumane and hurts my heart for this beautiful country. TL:DR : good schooling, but really hates modern America and Right winged politics.

Not nearly enough space to comfortably fit the amount of people in it. Barely any quiet spaces to speak of. People who come sit at your table without even asking you, which is basic manners. There are a bunch of open spaces for group study, but that doesn't compensate very well for the lack of private desks along the wall without other desks right next to you. Always smells like coffee. Update: some guy came up to me and sat at my table (plenty of other tables to sit at) I asked him nicely to leave. He didn't, and started talking about completely unrelated stuff and called me a first name I did not recognize. I asked him consistently to leave since I did not like people sitting at my table while I tried to focus. He just would not leave. He asked if I was gaming. Heck no! He brought up how he has a friend who works for security. I told him I did not care, and that he should get out. So he finally left. This encounter made it difficult for me to finish my homework before the due date, and it may have cost me some points. If the library somehow lets these kind of scammer-people in, I have no idea why this place is rated so well. Maybe the staff should take a few pointers from the Harold B. Library at Brigham Young University, Provo.

While going to the U, this was one of my favorite buildings. Lots of study spaces for groups and singles. Librarians are very knowledgeable and resources can be found very quickly. 3D printers, Mac, PC, and Linux labs, writing labs, cafes, and more can be found here.

I live here. I cannot escape. I feel like I'm running, and if I trip I will be devoured be an omnipresent darkness. HELP. 4/5 nice place to fantasize about death.

It has everything necessary for studying! White boards of different sizes, all kinds of chairs, couches, quiet sections, rentals; computer and phone chargers. Copier, printer and cardio! In addition to the fact that its a safe place! You can leave your computer and go to the bathroom!

Brent Uberty

Fantastic place to study, work, and relax. Open to the public and filled with tools for knowledge.

This library is very quiet and there is a lot of space to study. They also have places for group study where you can make more noise. I like how they have a cafeteria in the first floor. It is a great place to study for long hours.

This library has everything a student would need. There is a cafe for snacks. Plenty of study space to study or take a quick nap. Lots of meeting space for group discussions or studies, and of course lots of books and learning resources. My favorite building on campus.

I visited the Marriott library as a visiting student from USU. I expected that I would be accommodated, but has NO IDEA how pleasnt and helpful EVERYONE on the staff was. Sorry for using caps, but I am still thinking about how great my experience was today. THANK YOU!

Good facility. It is not hard to find a place to study. Only drawback is the people who do not care about the library rules much. Stinky foods, loud people and loud headphones are simply annoying while studying.

Would be five stars, but closes at 8:00PM on Saturdays. At a state university with tens of thousands of students a resource such as this should NOT close this early. It has a snack shop and Cafe available. Both iMacs and Windows desktops are available. The general and special collections are extensive and comprehensive. The architecture and accessibility are great. The study areas for group and individuals are comfortable and quiet. I’ve not been in a great many University libraries, perhaps only a handful really, but of all them I find this library to be the best.

Colton Gardner

Fantastic library that is modern and up to date. Customer service is excellent and it is easy to navigate inside. Even with the large amount of chairs and study areas, it id often full and forces students to sit on the ground or go to other buildings. The Special Selection collection of rare books is awesome and the library offers other services like free classes, a Writing Center, and seminars.

Library of University of Utah, and it's great place (you can also use private room for group discuss) to study and use the computer.

This library has everything necessary for students - computers, printing of all types (including poster and 2 methods of 3d printing), connector cable and technology check out, help downloading software, study nooks, and of course tons of books. You don’t need to be a student to enter or read books at the library, and I think anyone can check our books and print (although it’s a bit more of a hassle and I think students get priority).

Yusuf Jameel
