Where's Waldo

They think policy is above the law and they can ask anyone to leave that use their First Amendment Rights

After getting a library card, needed help renewing my books online. Left a voice message and received immediate follow up call and they had taken care of my renewal.

The Daily

A very wonderful place. Friendly staff, great service, good place to use computers (gets busy in the afternoon). Convenient place to get books.

They could do a much better job of putting daily newspapers out for the patrons, in my opinion...seems like employees either have first dibs (which shouldn't be), or you have to go ask for that day's edition ot the Index Journal and/or Greenville News when they somehow "forgot" to put out in the rack. This is even later in the day...not just first thing when they open.

Great place except for the nastyrudepeople who come to use the computers.

Great library but they discriminate based on footwear. No health department has ever issued a statement on the need for footwear for patrons, and any googling of the issue will reveal numerous articles that show that requiring footwear in a place where conditions don't demand it for safety is a relic of discrimination and anti-barefoot policies from the 60s and 70s. So, even though libraries are supposed to be centers of learning and open to everyone, this one is not, depending on if you have what they deem appropriate footwear. Which is a shame of a place that ought to be a source of higher learning.

The people at the library are wonderful, always ready to help you out. I give them 5 stars. I also find the Non-fiction area to be pretty well stocked. The problem lies with the fiction section. This area is weird. I have come across numerous books that look pretty good to read, so I want to check them out. Then however, I discover they are part of a series, and they don't have rest of it. They aren't the first in the series either, they are like the second or 3rd. Sometimes they will have the first 3 in a longer series, such as "The Expanse" series, or maybe they will have just a few random titles in much longer series, such as the "Richard Sharpe" series. Just enough to either get you hooked in the series, or make you wish you could find the first book. The book might not be from series per se, but maybe a well known book from a certain author, such as the Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. They have a lot of Michael Crichton books, but for some reason they do not have that one, I had to buy it. There could also be other series that I am not interested, but that someone else could be, that are missing random books. Now, they do have a lot of fiction books with complete series, don't get me wrong. One such is the Pendergast series. They do have all of those. They also have a large number of Jack Reacher books. I hope I don't come across as rude, I just find it a little frustrating sometimes not being able to read a complete series.

I visited this library to type and print some things. They give 2 hour passes. I was working on computer an hour and had to go to my car to take a phone xall. I was gone 20 minutes. The computers allow you to lock the computer and hold reservation. At this time there were only about 7 of over 30 computers in use. Came back and librarian unlocked my computer, refused to apologize. If a person locks computer they should be able to attend bathroom take a phone call etc.. withouta librarian unlocking computer. Isnt that the whole point to locking a computer???? This library is waste of tax dollars. The old building was just fine!

It is clean, bright and pretty. The people who work here are very helpful and professional. I love this library.

Bridgette Walker

An excellent source for knowledge and entertainment for the mind. I would like to see the geneology section continue to grow. Those working at this library work to serve you well. The ONLY reason I don't give it five stars is that the new building resonates sound that is more fit for a theatre than a library. Silence is, indeed, golden.

Regina Bell

Great library. I love going here there is always a computer free any time of the day. It doesn't get busy until the afternoon. I always go in the mornings. They also have a wide range of books and services. I see that some kids get tutor there and some student do study groups within the library. And the quiet area on the 2nd floor has a beautiful view out looking the downtown area.
