Tiny library, with lots of homeless. Also, hosts "Drag Queen Story Hour" which I don't feel is appropriate for children.

If you live outside city limits, you have to pay a monthly fee. This makes it very inconvenient for a low budget family to utilize their local library

This is the first library I have been to where they will physically unplug the internet connectiion when the library is closed. What is extra frustrating is that they are closed on Sunday and Monday too.

While there is a previous comment that the library requires a fee for out-of-towners, the library does participate in Oregon's Library Pass system, meaning any library card from a participating library in the state will work here. So check around to see if another nearby library participates and you are golden!

You want something to read they probably have it or can get it. Surprisingly enough they were not upset or at least didn't show it with me, it took 2 years before i finally was able to pay off my fines. They still welcomed me back into there old books folds. I'm so glad this place is in our small little town. It is not only a place for some of the less fortunate to go to check in on their technological inquiries, but it is also a good place for the children to go after school while waiting for parents to get off work if need be or even just to get some of their homework done.

Pretty much a homeless shelter. Limited resources as well. Very little public space/tables. The ones they have are always occupied by the same homeless people everyday. They’ve also deemed the entire second floor as “teen” section and will kick you out if you try to use a table there. Astoria property tax payers are definitely getting a raw deal here.
