You have all the opinions of people like you who consume the services and products of Metropolitan Library System - Ralph Ellison Library (Library) in Oklahoma area.

As of day this business has a rating of 4.4 over 5 and that score was based on 27 reviews.

You may have noticed that the average of ratings is really good, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the valuation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they are satisfied with the business, is that it works.

You know that we don't usually stop to put feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

Great experience. This library is a space that serves the Eastside community in many ways. The Eastside is a place with a long history, in it you have affluent folk who have lived there their entire lives and you also have federally assisted housing. What makes this library so special is that it is home to all of the bright and not so bright parts of the Eastside of Oklahoma City. This library is a place for learning and education for underserved youth throughout the community. The staff at this library serve as more than just your ordinary librarians, but rather as caretakers for the youth whose parents work long and tiresome days. The library is aftercare and daycare for some of the children. Turning its back on these kids would be counter to the vision of Mr. Ralph Ellison. Yes, sometimes they can be rather loud, but I would much rather deal with their occasional child-like behavior in a library than them turning to alternative means. This library is just what the community needs and does a superb job with handling the many needs of the community.

Horrible experience!!! Children running around, playing music without head phones. Loud conversation, cursing, yelling and unsupervised. Horrible!! And the librarians are ignoring it all, one with earplugs in his ears the others are just sitting at the front desk.!! Horrible!!!

I love this library and libraries in general but today it was not a library it was a youth center. I understand that teens have to go somewhere on school break and I am glad it is, but I hoped they came there to use the computers or actually find a book to read, instead there was distracting music, talk and laugh so loud that people who would like to read or work had to leave! Even so the security guard asked a few times to turn it down they just made fun of his looks and ignored him. The librarians are very competent and helpful and so long you get there in the morning and not on school break it is a very nice place!

Knowledge is Power! I enjoy stopping by to browse the internet, due paperwork, or simply set an example for the youths on the Eastside.

Not a library but a youth center/daycare center, homeless shelter, mental health center all in one. No Discipline here what so ever, ungrateful kids do whatever they wantlibrarians/security allow it

Not especially quiet, but the people who work in this library are the absolute kindest people I've ever met. They are genuinely interested in all the people (young or old) who walk in the doors of this beautiful library. We will be back even though it is not close to our home because these people make you feel welcome.

What a beautiful space to house thousands of books! I'm usually popping by on my way to or from somewhere, so I haven't had time to browse lately. Staff is always friendly. The last time I was here, I only got through two bookshelves as I get caught up in reading! They have incredible printed resources here! I really like that there are usually no/short lines. I do miss having a better DVD selection "in-store." When using the website, though, I can find almost anything I'm in search of. When I can't, I remind myself that it's a free resource and get over it! :) The next time you're looking for something to do, get lost in the stacks and learn something new.
