I would have to agree with a reviewer called "HC". I had the same experience with the red-haired woman at the check out. I had just departed the US Navy and decided to settle in Lima. The first time my son and I went to this library I had to ask THAT red haired woman something. She did NOT even let me finish what I wanted to ask her. She just cut me off. She seemed so put off that THIS new person, who has never been to Lima, needed assistance. How very rude! Hey, lady, if you are so unhappy by being there, may I make a suggestion? LEAVE. That was my first impression of the Lima library. It was a very negative experience for my son and I. All because of ONE person. You know what they say about one bad apple...

I took my three children up their during check out I asked the red hair lady about getting my children there own library card. She grunted and was very rude saying it would take awhile to do so to do it another time because there was people waiting. Extremely rude service!

Need security outside library to guys approach you bout cigs or ask you for a ride .black guy approach me ask me for a ride i was walking up to the library today he seen i was walking just come close to me. So could rob me or something. I was scared but also had my mace out to. Ladies watch bout walking on lot behind library .

I grew up going to this library with my mother and I used to hold my breath up the steps so I could take a deep inhale of the books when I stepped inside. My memories of growing up in Lima are so deeply wound up with this library that I can't separate them. Many big city libraries are put to shame by this gem.

Each time I renew items over the phone I, have to ask the staff person their name. I had to do this today. It would be courteous for staff to introduce themselves when they answer the phone. I had a book on hold,for almost a month ,that I got last Sat. I called about it atleast once and it wasn't in yet. When I tried to renew it today, I was told it couldn't be renewed because it was on hold. It took me over a month to get it,when I had it on hold,yet I'm having to read it in two weeks? I asked the policy on this which staff could not explain. I realize this may be "in fine print" somewhere, but it would be helpful full staff to point out the no renewal at check out. I'm questioning if the person before me only had it two weeks since it too me a month to get it....
