The physical layout is nice. The extended computer time allowance is a plus, but the staff, including security, can be completely rude. Several times I have heard them utter rude personal comments about patrons an when I reported them and expressed my concern about the loud profane behavior around visiting children, it didn't seem to concern them much at all, but a bottle of water out of a bag in the summer gets a paid visit from security??? Backwards morals and values. Corrupt our youth if you'd like, but by golly keep this darn library clear of all food, even water that we ourselves provide at a fountain...

I love the downtown library. The ppl are really nice along with the computers they are in great shape an I like the size if the screens. Only thing I kinda dislike is that it used to be 20 cent for color print outs now it's 50 cent for color. I have a printer at home the ink is high so I use the printer here I could only print out 10# that was $5 I was like geeshhhh smh oh well it is what it is.

Very helpful staff. I got a library card in less than 2 minutes and now can download audio books and ebooks for free!

Odd vibe..

Absolutely no parking available for a 15-passenger van. Public parking is restricted to 6'7”, which is too short for large vehicles. Street parking is pathetic, were it not blocked off anyway.

I highly recommend this place!

I love the library. They help you with everything you need to know here. They even have equipment to make music here. The computer time is very understandable because it tells us how long we should be on the internet. I hope they never get rid of the books here because that's why it's a library. It makes me feel at peace to know I can take a second to breathe here. Thank you for being a good place to go.

Kimberly Escoto

I love this library it has all the books that I need.Keep the good work

The selection is great. Security, not so much. When I visit here, I feel like I have to check myself every five seconds.

This is a nice library. Modern decor, well maintained and very spacious. Librarian staff have always been very helpful & I have been pleasantly surprised with the access that it provides to classic pieces, a s well as modern and recent titles. The parking deck offers one hour of free parking during the week and is free on weekends. Enjoy!

Good place to attend meetings

Lots of the homeless come in just to sleep or use the first floor restroom to bathe.

Has a good selection and not to far from my home. I'm not the biggest fan of going Downtown to go to the library but at least the parking is free for the first hour. Also to not thrilled by the idea of parking in a parking garage, the stairs smell like pee. But when you move things are going to be different. There is a park right behind it with a cafe, ice cream, looks like a nice spot to visit.

Many homeless shelter here during the day they have a warm place during open hrs and entertaimant on line maybe looking for jobs, books to read etc. I think is very nice they are allow inside specially on bitter colds days. Librarians very plesant overall nice clean big place to go expand your mind.

As far as the facility itself and what the library offers; it is great. They have a vast selection which is easy to navigate and find what you want. The building is very beautiful, but it smells like pee, smoke, and BO. The second floor is worse, maybe because the free computers are up there. Also, be prepared to have a lot of homeless people mean muggin you when you walk in if you are clean cut. I don't mind this, but when they walk around yelling on their cell phones, it can get a bit annoying. I don't hang out. I get what I need and get the heck out of there. Its a shame, but what can you do?

Great place to find actual information. The availability of information is driven by the swarths of homeless. They get musty. They drag all their stuff up here. They watch twerk videos on the computers......but the city knows this.....THIS PLACE HAS NO INTERNET FILTERS - THIS IS A MECCA IN THE BIBLE BELT. Great librarians who will help you find or do anything of the computers. Great deal of resources downstairs....everything from soup kitchens to tax information. Nice park next door with golf and ping pong

The Central Branch is my favorite Greensboro library. There's usually plenty of parking available on the street or you can use the parking deck. (It's free if a librarian stamps the parking pass.) The staff has always been approachable and super helpful. Presentation rooms wiring is starting to modernize and work with newer tech.

I come often n love it here. The garage parking price I think is fair cause I definitely don’t trust parking in the street...the main entrance smells like someone musty lives in that hallway, yet there is no none in the hall ways...the book selection a dvd selection are amazing and the staff themselves have always greeted me and said goodbye when I left...I’ve always found plenty of space to lay out my stuff to study and read...the downside is the homeless people that come in...now I don’t mind that but what I do mind is the loudness, cursing and snoring I some time hear...I have only seen the security guard patrol maybe twice and when I do see him he’s talking up front...I haven’t been upstairs...another thing that can’t stand is hearing the restrooms but other than that I like the place

Wish they had more multimedia. A lot of empty shelves. Really neat layout - beautiful interior. The staff was awesome - friendly and knowledgeable.

I had some time to kill in Greensboro, and my son and I landed at this library right at story time with Mr. Pete. He is the best!! He plays the guitar and dances around with the children in between stories. We will definitely be glad to make the 45 min. trip to see Mr. Pete again soon.

A warm, welcoming learning environment, as mentioned times before.

This Library is amazing. It's so peaceful and quiet. it's one of the places that are my home away from home. So many books that I never even heard of best place EVER

The librarians are the most helpful and knowledgeable librarians I've ever worked with over my lifetime of university study and teaching. No one does it better. They also are making excellent choices about new books which they order in a timely fashion. I always check first at the public library, even before the UNCG library.

Christian Ayala

I really enjoyed the hospitality from the librarians. Keep up the Great work guys!

Love this library....located in the heart of downtown Greensboro. It's fun to make an afternoon of going to the library, and then heading right next door to Le Baurer Park! I'm most familiar with the children's section...we love the organization, and the special areas they have set up for children to read such as the "cave." We will definitely be back.

Claudia F

Is a very spacious place, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Liz Zimmer

Five star kids' section! The picture books are laid out like a record store, but at kid height so they can flip through them. There's a rocket ship to read in; the librarians are super-helpful; there's a fun summer-time reading incentive program; computers read books and have games; and the parent section is well-stocked. I haven't used the rest of the library as much, but it seems equally as great. Nice layout, good selection.

Lady Fire

I enjoy taking my children here, very peaceful atmosphere, large variety selection of DVDs, helpful staff members and who doesn't love the library?!?!

I like the greensboro library downtown and then at the same time I don't. Because it gets crazy downtown for reason. It seems like when I come people be in the library all loud and ghetto acting, cussing and acting like they never had home training. But I guess thats why its public library.
