I been across many libraries over the years, and have to say that DH Hill is and always be my favorite! Its a combination of new and old, tech savvy with old school vibe. Duke and UNC can definitely learn a lesson or two. This library got everything.... - want to do some serious studying in a well lit area while surrounded by student folk for that social motivation factor? BOOM: the reading room! - want to study in a completely secluded area where your peripherals are blocked? BOOM: the cubicles scattered across the upper floors - always had a dream to write and draw on your walls? BOOM: the group study rooms across upper floors? -are you determined multi-tasker that likes to get most out of your day?: BOOM: the patio on the second floor - study while getting your healthy dose of Vit D -frequent study break kind of a person? BOOM: they got game room for that! - stress got your appetite during finals? BOOM: ice cream store...right inside the library! -want to Ace that anatomy test? BOOM: you can check out a freaken skeleton! -got exam during State Fair? BOOM: 9th floor windows! Perfect spot to do some fire work watching or sunset watching. The new additions have been amazing! More unique study spaces, more white boards, and now new study groups areas! DH Hill is a true gem of NCSU. Ask anybody - current students or past alumni - and they will tell you a story or two about their time spent behind these timeless walls.

The D.H. Hill Library at NC State is a fantastic resource -- and not just for State students. This is a great place to research, work, or even sometimes lounge around if you're getting academic work done. The physical library is expansive and the librarians are helpful.

Needs a Port City Java, sell the damn game consoles for it!

A lot of room for different purposes. But the bright color furniture looks dirty really quickly. I bet they cost a lot, too.

I love DH Hill Library. It's my favorite place to study on campus and I honestly prefer it way more than the Hunt Library on Centennial campus because it's more functional and has more personal space for learners who need structure like myself. I give DH Hill two thumbs up!

Taylor Richardson

Great place to study. They have some really unique spots.

The quiet reading room on the 2 floor is not quiet. Since there are no surrounding walls you can still here people on the outer edges talking at a normal volume. Too bad, it's kinda cozy in there

2018: Nice view of downtown Raleigh. May need some renovation.

A little bit of a old school library, nice if you're looking for the traditional library feel.

I love this library, especially the top floors because they are dead silent and you can really finish your work here. One thing though, in the ninth floor has anyone ever noticed the same hippie dude that chills in a desk and takes his shoes and socks off?? He has a long ponytail and looks pretty old. It is so weird because this man is there ALL DAY EVERY DAY! He usually sits near the windows after you get off one of the three elevators on the ninth floor.

Do not borrow stuff from NCSU library. I borrowed USB Cable from DH hill library and they made me pay 50 bucks for not returning the item even though I'm pretty sure I returned their item on time...

Anyone who has ever been to NC State knows the ice cream at DH Hill is amazing. If you ever visit Raleigh take the time to tour the NC State campus and make 100% certain that you grab some ice cream at DH Hill. Great stuff!

Books, icecream, gaming rooms, and more. Great for many things. Lets you reserve rooms up to a week in advance. Whiteboards for work and nice desks to work on. Great place to study in if you need a quite, formal location to do so.

Exactly what a campus library should be. This library is as close to the ideal of a campus library as I think you could get. The first three floors are designed well for both individual and group study, the majority of the seating is setup so that it is easy to spread out for larger projects. On the first floor there are power outlets at every desk and many along the wall allowing for easy charging of laptops. From the third floor up the library is silent study and it is generally respected (those who forget will quiet down if you gently remind them). It is older and does show it in some places but when you need a library at college you aren't looking for pretty, you are looking for a place where you can get your work done and move on to better, more enjoyable things.

Great place to get some study time in, large amount of books available (references, encyclopedias, textbooks). Hard to reserve a room unless you get it well ahead of time. Book stacks are always quiet and a good easy choice between class.

Very pretty campus with dedicated staff members. High school has a Wake county public library, as well as the Baby Jags Daycare Center. ADHS also offers adult education evening classes. Athens Drive High School is very much a community school.

Good place to study on main campus close to the residential and academic buildings. A wide variety of study environments (from group study room to silent cubicles) are available.

This place has no really changed in 20 years on the upper floors... The lower floors have been modernized with lots of computers and bright colors. Great place to study!

Bryce Hosseini

I tend to be drawn to quirky buildings like this, but that's merely the least of my reasons for thoroughly enjoying this library. For one thing there are tables and workstations almost everywhere you look. Even the silent reading room is impressively large, and the views from the terrace and the upper floors of the bookstacks are excellent. Hill of Beans, the Creamery, and the game room are all nice bonuses. Be sure to visit the small museum and reading room in the east wing.

No library is perfect, but this one has undergone recent renovations. It's reasonably quiet, has lots of natural light, multiple areas in which to sit/study and some of those have very comfortable seating.

Excellent work stations and huge collection of books can be found here. They even have a small pastry shop inside. Amazing view on the top floor
