Must be the time of day. Complete chaos. Trying to help my son do science project and kids are running around like crazy! So loud. I respect the fact some people do not have anywhere to put their children for daycare but it seems like they have a daycare upstairs and it is crazy. They also feed 3 square here to the kids. Which I respect,but wow these kids are crazy and no parents anywhere. The elevator totally smells like homeless live in there.

It's a great library. It's very quiet on the first and second floor. Employees are nice and patient. My daughter absolutely loves the third floor kids area. There's always something to do for her. She cries when we leave. We love going to the library ever few days.

2 words: dirty, dump. The library is old small and FILTHY. From the parking lot approach notices the homeless, notice the landscaping rocks unchecked spread out all through the parking lot like an out of control sandbox. Approach library entrance steps notice food thrown on ground, see the garbage can that looks like someone has thrown up all over the top of it. Would it hurt to pressure wash the discusting walkway once maybe every 3years! filthy dirt, gum ,spilled liquids. Enter the library, small and stupid complicated entry "choose a direction in the maze", secret rooms very weird setup.. Not enough desks for homeless. The grand finale, welcome to the bathroom: no toilet paper because its all over the floor with stains and other trash,hasnt been cleaned in a week? The sink is broken with that beautiful yellow cation tape. Someone living in handicap stall.... bravo clark county, someone needs to be fired. Traveled the country been to multiple pub librarys this is the worst for cleanliness. Nov28 1:52pm .

I arrived a little before 10am so I waited outside and yes there are a lot of homeless people on the steps and sidewalk areas. The people that work here are really nice. The book selection is terrible IMO they had little in the medical/ neurology section and every title I went in search of was 'no longer on the shelf.' The anime section is seriously lacking.

This place would get an Excellent rating if it weren't for a few things. It's great for it's books and movie selections and I also like it's computer room. But my chief complaint about this place is how they rush you out 15 minutes before closing. There's been many times where I've gotten off work and need to look some things up on my laptop and those 15 minutes are very valuable when I get there like an hour to a half hour before closing. But they start coming around telling you to pack up at about 15 minutes before closing and the little cleaning lady starts fidgeting with the chairs around you at this time too to make you uncomfortable so you leave. The internet connection always gets disrupted at around 6:40-6:45 as well, so anything you're downloading or looking at gets unexpectedly lost (well it's expected now for us regulars). If they want to go home at exactly 6pm, then make the official closing time 5:45pm. It's 6pm for a reason and that's the time it should officially close. There's lots of people who may not be aware of this, like I wasn't, and who rush to get there on a bus and think "whew! I made it, and have time to look up what I need to look up" only to be kicked out 15 minutes before it closes. It's very annoying. Also, for such a huge library, it's strange they don't have fax machines or a fax service. Other than that, it's a pretty good place.

Better than it was after the crash in 2008 but still a lot of homeless sleeping there. Odor is a problem on a hot day. Good resources here to use.

I have never been to a library before. The staff was very helpful and nice. I didn't see any homless people around there. I am sure as with any public place you will have some wierdos...lol...i read the reviews on here and can only think that anyone who complains about a free service should go and buy all the services that you get for free at the library and then you can sit at home and be happy there.

It is wonderful to have a library. Books are right next to water and food in importance in my world and I am grateful for any chance to read one. That said and sincerely meant, I cannot help but comment on the website chosen by our library. It is the least user friendly of any I have ever been in. I am tired of looking at a book and then having to return to the beginning and again choose subject, kindle, e book etc only to have to do it all over again the next time I wish to look at a book. Presently, I am without cover pictures and have no idea of how to get them back so the return to the beginning is even more frequent. It has just been recently that my library number has come up automatically and even though I have to change a number due my own ineptness, I am thankful. Can't this antiquated system be updated?

Terrible service. Making up rules as they go along as to why you are unable to obtain a library card for yourself and your kids. We had many things with the address on it, even mail with a postmark within 30 days as shown on their list which I have included a copy of. Sharonda is the rudest employee I have yet to ever encounter. She refused to answer my inquiry requesting what the required documents are in writing or online, stating "I just told you." I will contact management and am now being made to come up here again in 7 days when the temporary extension or library access she provided expires. My son is special needs and the only activity he enjoys is coming to the library, but some overzealous employee named Sharonda prefers to deny him of that. Rude for no reason. We live in an Air B&B like many others these days. The proof we provided to the library is the same exact proof we used to successfully and effortlessly enroll our kids in school with and she refused to accept it. We had no issues with the Same Air B&B documents on the other side of town at Windmill and Rainbow to get a card. We are being punished for the poor area, and this is a free resource paid for by our taxes since we work. Shame on Sharonda and whoever trained this lady to make up rules as she feels fit, and discriminate at leisure. There is no other library anywhere near the Stratosphere where we stay so we are forced to come here with homeless people everywhere inside and out, plus rude staff members.

i give the staff and place 5 stars they are super helpful and nice the place are great for kids to play. i give the parents with kids ZERO STARS like seriously your child makes a messand don't try to make him clean up! just because this is not your house you have to trash the place up!

What a great respite from the insanity of the Strip--it's the best $10 you'll spend in Vegas (on a cab ride from the Strip to the library)! Tons of reading tables on multiple levels; free wifi and power for the technology-inclined; and helpful staff. It would have been nice to be able to bring lunch or a coffee in, but I understand the "no food or drink" policy and respected it. Thanks to the staff there for making me feel welcomed for the afternoon that I spent working away sans distractions. It was greatly appreciated.

Theater room is great for large group events & dance recitals. Fitting rooms are spacious. Audiannce have a great view of the stage from all sides of the room. Overall a great theater!

It's a nice library. Super crowded all the time though. Full of homeless people on the second floor, and the smell can be pretty strong and off putting. I try not to judge because if I were homeless I'd want to hang out somewhere with AC too, but it does make the environment bad for study. Also, the internet can be very slow at times.

Always have something going on, like concerts, shows, movie showings, etc. The movie selection is great. Staff is always very nice. Sometimes occasional person causing a scene. Or being loud and rude for whatever reason. other than that, i love this place.

Make sure u check the dvds before u check them out bc most of the time there are scratched Maybe the librarian should check the dvds if there scratched so I don't have to wait another day for season episodes or movies. Lazy

This branch is particularly busy as it's across from UNLV and serves the surrounding eclectic community. It's always busy but it's always clean, orderly, and a great experience....I've been visiting it for 30 plus years!

We go to this library at least once every two weeks. I only use the third floor. We stack up on board books for my toddlers. Some of the parents let there kids run and scream. The librarians sometimes automatically assume that's your kid and give you attitude. Don't think that you can return children's books on the third floor because the doors will beep and they will go national security on your ass. Just do yourself a favor return them on the second floor. They have reading clubs sometimes. For every five books you read they give you a book buck only used for buying books at the library of course. I thought that was cool. But when I tried to get info about it not only did the lady not answer my questions but she also made me feel as if I'm only reading to my kids to get something out of it.. don't get me wrong it did encourage me to read more to them but its not like I'm getting real money. Club or no club I always find the nearest library for us so I can read to my kids its something we enjoy. Whether there's fake money involved or not... lol she was a joke.

If you like being close to homeless people with no respect for hygiene, you'll love the Clark County Library at 1401 East Flamingo Rd. The cornucopia of rancid odors is truly astounding. If I were to suddenly become homeless, I would know exactly where to go and sleep during the day. The security will let you be, as will the libraries employees. If you are homeless, I highly recommend this spot for you to relax, charge up your mobile phone and computer, read a book and pass on any airborne pathogens you might have.

It is a smaller library....but it is very convenient! They have a big computer lab with about 35 computers for the public to use for up to 2 hours a day! I was disappointed when I couldn't find the books I wanted to read! But they said they could get them from another library! They do have charging stations for you electronic devices!

I been going to this library for two years and let me tell you it's alright. The library is clean and the books are alright. I come here mostly to use the computers but I still do my homework here and read books. The staff sometimes can be rude but there mostly nice. I guess the only problem here are the homeless people there everywhere. Well I can't blame them when a library is next to a 99 cent store. I feel unsafe because of the homeless people. One time my friends thought that the two of us should get snacks while are two other friends reserved two computers for us. The reason why we went is because we only had money while we walk a homeless guy started to follow us tell we reach the store when we came out he wasn't there. So yeah great library only problem are the homeless people and for the teens 11 to 17 there teen Tuesday where you can play video games and do other crap. Thanks to my friends that convenience me to go.
