Beautiful building. Wendy is a wonderful librarian. The kids programs are top notch. Very helpful and friendly staff (and volunteers).

The Darby Public Library is a treasure in Montana's lower Bitterroot Valley. It goes WAY beyond simply being a building for checking out a good read. It offers extensive community services including space for public meetings and other activities The library is part of an excellent regional library exchange system, has a great resource area stocked with PC's, scanners, printer services and assistance (although one caveat is that there were no Mac operating systems last I was there). The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Lastly the library board is not intimidated by those who wish to stifle freedom of speech and the active acquisition and sharing of knowledge. A case in point: As I write this review, a lecture series is being planned that will include a talk on Islam. There are some local people who want to ban this subject from the series. The library board has said no, they will not cave in to Islamophobia.

I think the Darby Public Library is a great place to read and to use the Internet. The people that work there are very helpful and friendly.

Great staff, beautiful library. Really important to this community. Brings diverse viewpoints that some may never have otherwise experienced.
