Really disappointed at the way I was treated at this facility. Hoping it isn’t due to my skin color given the climate in this country right now. Back story: I started going when I was 9 and I’m 28 now =19 years. I had called earlier in the day because my library card wasn’t working and spoke with a sweet well mannered young lady who told me that the library cards “expire every 2 years and you need to update your info for it to work” she updated my info for me and said I’m all set and should I have any problems to call her back. I was at work at the time and was so excited and eager to get home to try it out on the cmars website for getting e books on my kindle. Unfortunately it still wasn’t working. I then made the choice to drive to the library to see what could be done. What happened next is inexplicable. The woman working was the RUDEST and meanest lady I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. I was in on July 1st at 8:10 pm. She in a very patronizing tone said the reason you can’t access your card is because you got a new one and I’m like pardon? Very mater of fact. No ifs ands or buts. And she said YOU TOLD US YOUR CARD WAS LOST. This is the THIRD card we have given you. I told her I don’t remember ever losing my card. Just that it expired because as I’ve said it’s been going on 19 years that I’ve been off and on going to the Milford library. She sighed several times and scolded me. She kept asking where my card was? And I was confused as I legit had the card in my hand. I was embarrassed and was trying to recount if in the last 19 years I had ever done so. Then I thought she may have me mistaken for someone else. I remember years ago moving back to town after college and coming in because I thought my card was probably expired as before that I went when I was a kid. And who knows? When I was a kid going to this library maybe I did lose a card, that’s not unheard of? That could have been between 15-17 years ago. She sighed several times loudly and scolded me saying this was my 3rd card. She was so rude I actually had to say that if she didn’t want to help me that I could leave. I felt terrible. She almost didn’t help me either. She just stood there looking at me for moments saying repeatedly “you NEED to find your card this is the third one” Mumbling and telling that if I recovered the old one to come back and what I said was I have this library card that I kept this whole time. In the end she did something to the card so I was able to use it but not before expressing her immense dissatisfaction towards me. I wanted to run out of there as fast as I could but I didn’t want to feel like she could just bully me out of there so I browsed and worked up the courage to come back up to check some books out. Lastly, there was a woman after me who wasn’t treated the same way I was. And there was a gentleman working that seemed to also not be treated as I was which makes me believe this is not an issue if she was simply having a bad night but that she right of the bat disliked me. Whether this is true or not can never be proven. But I wanted to put this out there so that other people can avoid the same feelings that I did.

Front Desk Staff Very Rude, and unhelpful. I Borrowed a Bulky Piece Of Equipment a few Months ago. And Upon return of item, I was having Trouble with My Wrist due to a Previous Surgery. I stopped at The Front Reception, and Asked For Assistance Carrying it. I was TOLD, I Have to take it To A Different Department, and They Didn't offer any Help.They Actually Stood There, as if They Had No Clue it is part Of a Customer Service Job. There was at least 3 of them, looking at each Other as If to say That's Not My Job. I had To Hunt down a Random Employee for Assistance. I will NEVER return to that Abysmal Library. I'm beyond Disgusted that They Allow such people To Work with The Public. Don't count on My Vote when Next Election Comes up.

HORRIBLE! These librarians are SO rude! They are very condescending. They are very snobby and look down on you when or if they ever speak to you. They barely ever greet you or ever ask if you need help. They give you an attitude if you forget your library card. They give you an attitude if you park in the wrong parking space, or try to make you feel uncomfortable. They rush you when there is 15 minutes left to close, instead of assisting you. The lights turn on and off during the last 15 minutes. The staff is very unprofessional. It's sad because libraries are for the community and these ladies give it a bad reputation. Although Ann and Sue Ellen are very sweet!

Love how I can order a book if they do not have it. Like how they have community events. Like how I can have some state tests signed off there.

Estive ontem na Biblioteca de Milford, fui muito bem recebida, todas as pessoas funcionários muito educados e a Biblioteca super organizada... Eu adorei o espaço e todos que trabalham na Biblioteca!!!
