It had been a long time since I had been to a library. I was really surprised to see how big it was and all the services they provided. Most of the books I could ever want are there and the check our and return process is great. As of the date of this review, it is undergoing some renovations and upgrades so it's closed for awhile. I'll be excited to see what the "new" Bowie Library is going to look like.

One of the best public libraries I have come across in terms of cleanliness, organization, helpdesk, quietness, etc. Though environment is terribly rowdy sometimes and not too many noiseproof study rooms. Facility also lack profession oriented books; exaggerated volumes of novels, fiction,...dominate. A medical, paramedics or biology student for example will barely have an applicable resource to depend on from the library.

This particular library is very old school not modern . The building smells kind of old . They have book , movies , and cds to check out. Very relaxing place to sit and relax.

The Bowie Public Library has is pros and cons. For starters, it has been a great resource for reading materials, computer access, music, and DVD movies for my family for many years. Unfortunately, some of the staff can be rude, particularly in the children's area. The library serves as an "afterschool entertainment center" for kids of all ages, but the noise levels can be excessive, which is counter-productive for a LIBRARY, and the librarians seen to have no control over it. There are many children there with no parental supervision, which can cause unnecessary chaos at times, usually during the week, after 3pm. Overall, the location is convenient and the reading materials are extensive. Great for a short visit.

Place is really good! It was a great place for me to study! After schools, it is really noisy. But that is fine! The Libary is very good though!

It's a nice place to get away and study. It's pretty huge and accommodates all ages from toddlers to adults. They also cater residents and visitors. I particularly like the fact that the dedicated study areas are quite and isolated, unlike most libraries I've been to.

With the exception of wanting more open hours, which the branch has no control over, I find the Bowie Branch library very helpful. They have a wide range of materials, and librarians who will assist you in finding what you need, even if it is at another branch, and needs to be sent over. Unfortunately, the people who lie about their address so that their children can attend Bowie High School do use the facility as a bus station until they can come from their jobs and pick their kids up. And the children are many times not well behaved. But that is not the fault of the librarians, who are limited in what they can do.

Ive attended storytime here with my toddler and have felt unwelcome on several occiasions. We've started going to the New Carrollton location which is further away. I would prefer to go here but after yet another poor experience Ive just given up on this branch altogether.

you people are very rude saying that bowie public library isn't helpful. they help every person that walks through there door. so you people on the internet who like being rude for fun should really cut it out. you are lucky you can not see my face because it would be very upset. I love that library and every person on staff there. so thank you staff of bowie public library and to you people who like to throw shade do it somewhere else just not on this website.

Staff is friendly and helpful, clean facilities and there is a decent selection of books. Would very much like to see much more audio non-fiction books. After school, the place fills up with a lot of kids, not a bad thing but it makes it difficult to study here.

The New Library is open and inviting with a new children's sections and update teen and adult section. Plenty of choices for anybody and a great place to study or do work. The staff seem happier in a new updated area and they are glad to help with anything.

A very helpful staff and large library with plenty of computers. Separate areas for the kids and study rooms for adults. One of the better libraries in the Maryland system. In my opinion nicer than Bethesda or Russert.

Very nice place to go with your family or by yourself. They have places to study and an eating area with chargers. There are additional things like vending machines, books you can buy, meeting rooms, and restrooms.

I'm actually shocked at the lack of books currently at this Library. A while maybe aesthetically pleasing there's less for children to do. I know kids are supposed to be here for the books, but this whole imagination play thing has failed miserably.
