Excellent staff. Very helpful and bright. Showed me exactly what I needed and referred me to the right people to help first time in every case. A jewel on Lisbon street and an important part of renewal of down town Lewiston. Good tech, Internet, collections, etc. Check it out. Lewiston should be proud of its library.

Keep your eye out for parking spaces on Park Street as that's the area without parking meters. Pine Street has closer spots but most of them are not free. The library's greatest resource is its staff. From the circulation desk to the children's department on the top floor, they provide lots of help and do their best to answer questions. If Lewiston Public Library doesn't have a title, readers can request books from other lending libraries online. It's a great option people can use.

I love the Library and its not as used as it once was, sadly. The library also has free Rosetta Stone for learning new language Free ! to learn new languages! Its available for everyone and is a very expensive program to purchase. But its free here! And Wi-Fi is also free. The choices in books, are huge! Since its a library, Of course you can read/borrow. I think it's lovely to read a book and if you enjoy it, you can buy it without worrying you may not enjoy it!

This library has a fantastic Children's Department. I use to volunteer as a homework helper up there and I cannot say enough good things about that library. They use to have a guinea pig that they were neglecting getting her nails cut. I did complain about that, but other than that, they are awesome and this viscious attack on the children's program is henious and based on racism. The largest group of children who come in for help are ESL kids/Somali refugees. The program is for all kids. Not just refugees, but people want to cause issues for them because this is a Republican city and they are racist. I was part of that program, so I can vouch for them.

Library, is replacing college educated Library Science Degree people with College debt's to repay and replacing with immigrants to save money and look as cultural diverse as they save money. I was band from the Library by Speer's about 3 years ago; as, I told this to an employee who just happen to be from New Zealand . . . Get my drift.
