Carnegie Stout Public Library is a wonderfully restored Carnegie Library with a well-done addition. The Library is a centerpiece and core institution in Dubuque, not just a place for books and media but a gathering place for all ages. My family and I visit the library several times each week for various meetings, see friends, searching and reading material, and to get out of the house and into the community.

I don't think I really appreciated this library until I moved away. This is a huge library with almost everything you could want. I highly recommend using the library system.

Zachery Gries

The most amazing library I have ever been to.

Bailey O'Neill

I love it when I go there! The staff are very friendly, the place is always clean, and is very high maintenance! Only 4 starts because of the hours, it would be nice if they closed at 7pm Monday-Thursday.

I love our city's library! It's a beautiful old building that has modern renovations, a wide variety of books/music/movies, an art gallery, Makerspace (free and/or inexpensive crafts, VR, 3D Printer, etc.), monthly events for all ages, and seating areas throughout. All the staff members are friendly and helpful.

Elizabeth Burns

This library has so many more resources then just books.

Itsa great.place, but.needs to have better hours. Open at nine am more often,as well as being open on Sunday year round. Think of the kid's, and those who work or have nothing to do.

We have a great library in Dubuque. Tons of resources and helpful and usually friendly staff. They have a gazillion movies to rent and many activities for all ages. They also have multiple drop box locations around town which is convenient if you don't live down town. The parking lot is cramped....reminds me of trying to squeeze into a small when you actually are a large...but other than that, the library is great.

My fiance and I just moved to Dubuque. We live together and I guess because we are not married I can't use his card to pick up books or DVDs for him while he's at work or etc. I think that sucks because if we live in the same household and it's not like we are abusing the privilege of taking out books or DVDs. Our DVDs and such are always return on time so I don't see where there's a problem and using his card if we have the same address. This policy sucks. Furthermore I don't appreciate that the supervisor there put a note on his account "that he should be able to use his own card" without his consent. You will be receiving a phone call from him and we would like to go over the supervisors head.

Troy Layne

Nice library with large sections for periodicals, children & teens. (Teen Zone).

seth McGuire

It's a nice, family oriented and convenient public service. Very well managed.

Jamal Munford

Staff is professional. Library is progressive as well as forward thinking. Their level of service to the community goes over and beyond. Inventory is kept useful and current.

kim demuth

You can put movies on hold and they call you when it is available. You also can check out 5 movies at a time for one week.

Steph

Beautiful building and friendly staff. Good selection of books.

Jayme Schmitt

Great service. I'm also incredibly fond of how systematic it is as well as their Nerf wars.

Craig Burns

Because everyone is nice and i live close by

Steve Hanken

Doing a short visit looking for research material on a difficult subject with less than two hours before closing on a weekend, we found the reference librarian exceptionally helpful! We walked away with two very good copies of a obituary from microfilm largely due to his assistance with the very complicated micro film reader/printer. We will be back! The Library itself is a very handsome building and if all the staff function like this gentleman it is a well oiled machine!
