The College Avenue branch has a baby music class that begins at 10:30. We showed up around 1025, but the parking lot was full. We drove around a couple times and even across the street to look for alternative parking with no luck. Finally, by time we followed someone to their car and found a parking spot it was 1035. As we walked in, a lady was placing a sign on the door that said music class circle is full today. There is no pre-registration, and despite driving all the way from the southside with twins, the lady still wouldn't let us in. She offered the playroom to us, but quite frankly, we came for the music class. We can go play at the park on this beautiful day. Surely letting in a couple more would not have hurt a thing. My babies were getting excited and could hear the music from the hall. So much for no Child left behind! We won't be back. We'll just go to that music class at the Central Library from now on. At Least they have pre-registration so this doesn't happen.

Friendly staff and good hours. However, the two star is for this reason: looked on the online catalog before coming in to see if they had a book available that I was wanted. It said it was available at this branch. I went there to pick up a copy, and it was not on the shelf as it said online. One of the employees politely helped me by looking in the back as well as up at the front desk, to no avail. A little frustrating that it was not there as it said it would be online; what is the point of there being an online catalog to see if a book is available if it’s not even relevant? So a heads up: don’t expect your book to be there if it says it is online.

The staff at this location are always the greatest! Sometimes the item I want isn't there, but making a request is simple and items usually arrive within a day or two (as long as I'm next in line). Its great having them so close by -- just need expanded hours (but funding and budgets... need I say more?)

This place is nice and quiet if you really need to study and not be disturbed. On the downside if you want to use one of the public computers the chairs are made out of wood. They must be from the 1950s and they completely hurt your butt.
