Here you will be able to see the opinions of people who know the services and products of Allen County Public Library (Library) in Indiana.
Currently the business gets a rating of 4.4 out of 5 and the rating has been based on 102 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite high, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may be pretty sure that the rating is very credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Library belongs to the category of Library.
MY CAR IS TRAPPED!!!! The gate won’t open, and it keeps saying “unable to read ticket” when I put in my card. This has happened every single time I’ve parked here. I have a common Visa card and I know it isn’t my card that is the problem (I literally walked over and bought a drink at Copper Spoon after leaving my car in the lot again). On top of that, it’s 12:22 AM. Why isn’t the gate up? I don’t mind paying. I’d be HAPPY to pay. But there is no attendant, the gate won’t move, and you don’t accept cash. And another car was able to get out. This is ridiculous. I’m just going to end up calling the police non emergency line just to go home.
Excellent staffing, great book selection, and easy to use. Very good system for the public library, and staff are always available to help find that one elusive book you want to read.
Very helpful on finding what you need. My family always looks forward to going to the Main Library. It's always a special trip.
Lots of resources, in branch and online. Underground parking is great and free if there not too long. Elevators will take you from garage level to top floor, but you will have to transfer elevators on main level. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
A big library. It has a cafe and a maker space which is not common in a library.
When their staff is rude they dont care. Thats whats wrong with businesses now a days. They dont care if they have rude staff as long as they are making money. Very sad. I can say that i dont plan on being back
Worst patron experience I've ever experienced. I worked for the library system in Las Vegas for a handful of years. Here I was charged for "damaged" books that I had returned without damage in the outside book slot. I was told on the phone that I could contest this and I went after work to speak with them. The supervisor was very rude and demeaning and refused to hear what I had to say only giving answers such as"we don't do that here". I know how library systems work and the fees and the policies they mentioned are not written anywhere. TI paid the fine but only because I didn't want to be reported to collections. Called back the day after because the fees they said they would wave were not. Spoke again with the same, obviously miserable, supervisor and she again failed to listen and quoted policy to me. She also basically called me a liar. Toxic people should not work in any type of service capacity. Worst customer experience I've ever had in my life in general. Below is a book that I was charged $27 in total damage fees.
We have a great library system here!
Super friendly staff, large selection of books, great children's area and lots of scheduled activities
Lots of extras. Jim Gill concerts are a blast. The summer reading program keeps my daughter motivated to read.
Helpful staff and a great variety of materials.
I love my library! Friendly staff and everyday is different.
Best place to study in Fort Wayne. Multiple study rooms and quiet areas for students like me.
All of the library branches are amazing but the events and departments and displays at the main branch exceed expectation!
Not many staff around and the one lady i asked for help was not very helpful. The Gentleman helping with new cards was very nice and helpful. It was an ok experience.
Wonderful children's area; as a visitor to FW, it was easy to find the spaces and the staff was incredibly welcoming. Our daughter enjoyed the locked children's play area. It was tidy and welcoming. Great library!
My boys love coming to get new books and always get a treat from Dunkin ♡
Always accommodating when we bring our clients to experience the library and all it has to offer.
The people who work there were extremely helpful to me while I was doing research there.
A great resource center on any topic, especially geneology and ancestry research (the second best in the USA next to Salt Lake City, Utah!!). Always someone there to assist you in any questions you might have! We are blessed to have such a fabulous and resourceful center here in Allen county Indiana for research on family histories! This includes military records, immigrants, death certificates, countless lists and records for all kinds of migrations and organizations. Staff are very helpful in assisting or referring you to the areas where you can obtain further information. Meeting rooms and a snack bar are also available to meet your needs. Kudos to the staff and leadership of the Allen County Public Library!!
Awesome facilities friendly staff
I love this library. It has loads of great programs for the kids.
Friendly staff, organized, loved the children section
Fantastic! If you can't find your person there, you won't find them anywhere! Very customer friendly and everything is convenient. Staff very helpful.
Beautiful library.
I love this library so much. I try to go there 3 to 4 times a week. Everyone is extremely nice and the people that work on the second floor media room are amazing. They always make me feel wanted every time.
Beautiful facility with something for everyone!!
A staple of Fort Wayne and main attention. Also the Genology Center of the midwest.
Rock the Plaza is awesome every summer!
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff and security in this modern, well equipped library. Plenty of seating with charging stations. Dunkin' Donuts inside for your coffee and treats!
Fantastic facility with amazing staff who will go above and beyond to help you find what you need. The building is very clean with it’s own parking garage under the building. There is a coffee shop inside the library, and an amazing courtyard, perfect for enjoying the sunshine and your freshly check out book.
Best library in town
Best resource in the county. Friendly staff, modern equipment, well organized, and clean. Security is good. Late hours on several nights make it accessible.
There is a old lady there who constantly attacks me anytime I come into the library...the other staff are great with me but that one lady...
Love taking the kids here, always something going on. Love the art gallery.
If you had to say the Top 10 treasured places in Fort Wayne, this would have to be one of them. Maybe number 1. The library has an art gallery, a movie theater, food as Dunkin donuts, a parking garage, and BOOKS; oh did I mention one of the best genealogy sections in the nation. There are whole towns in Indiana that have less interesting things than this single block in the summit city. My sister needed a movie and apparently this library has it. The library is continuing force of Knowledge and stimulation in one place. Everyone should go to this place
If you want to learn this is the place. Access Fort Wayne is in this building and the radio station WELT. I have a tv show on access called Speak Now With Gena. My mom has a radio show with the same title Speak Now With Gena
I was super excited to be able to use ACPL downloadable ebooks while I traveled. Unfortunately they put a hold on and barred my account because they kept sending me letters for library fines to a PO Box that was closed for an account that did not have fines that were more than 15$. It's awesome that I pay allen county taxes but I cannot access my own library account. And the only way I can "fix" this issue is by physically going into the library - which I can't. Because I'm travelling -- out of the country. This library continuously disappoints.....
Staff is really welcoming and patient. Spacious, clean and quiet. Great selection of books.
You guys have very rude staff. Always an absolute horrible experience here. For a public place you guys should be absolutely ashamed of the service you give. Ive never been to a library with such terrible staff. You guys really need to re-train all of your staff or watch who you hire. SHAME ON YOU
Great layout with stellar children's section. Staff was very nice.
If I could give it six stars I would. This library is a true treasure and despite having 3-D printers, creator studios, computers and more available for everyday use, its greatest resource is the librarians who work there.
-Good selection of books, magazines, newspapers, audio books, CDs, and DVDs: all decently organized and cataloged online. -If you use the online catalog, make sure you check if the book is in storage or no; you'll see a call number but won't be able to find it on the shelf if it is in storage. You can also see which branches have how many copies of the title, and in which format, which is very useful. -Phenomenal library as far as resources and materials. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check out their online resources. Access to GALE with a library card is amazing given that it is not a college library. They also have a lot of community events at this and other branches. -With a library card you can use up to 10 computer sessions (1 hour regular or 15 mins. express). -If you are going to print pdf files print from the hard drive, not from the cloud!!! The job will probably come out wonky and it's $0.10 per page. -I feel that the workers don't all like their jobs, but no place is perfect. If you can get in and out yourself it's a very nice library. -Parking is great given how hard it can be to find street parking, but validate your ticket at the desk!!! If you try to do it at the kiosk, you'll probably end up paying despite having an active library card.
Amazing service and nice teen area
Impressive library you'd expect of a city much larger in size. Very clean, modern and large selection of books as well as other media. On site coffee shop, plenty of places to sit, as well as comfortable environment make this my choice for best library. Pro tip - park in the underground garage via W. Wayne Street for quick access to/from the library. Don't forget to validate parking ticket (FREE with library card) inside at the kiosk near boom checkout to keep your garage exit hassle free.
Always great service but make sure you’re checked out before they close or you’ll have to come back the next day.
my time at the main downtown library was great and i really love the dunking donuts their
this place is huge!!! there is a ton of great books and information if you still use or have to use books for school projects like mine
