Love that there is a 3D printer along with computers, and even tax preparation books.

The building itself is pleasant and well-maintained. The staff are friendly. However, the lack of variety and selection of books is extremely disappointing. The 'philosophy' section consists of maybe a dozen lackluster books, the mythology and folklore section was maybe a total of five books on the shelf, there are almost no books on comparative religion. However, there are hundreds of books dedicated to Christianity and less than 1% about any other religion or philosophy. A public library is a Civic institution, not a Christian institution. The fact that they show such favoritism towards Christianity is troubling. There are many different philosophies and ideas in the world, but if you live in the valley and want to find out about them there are almost no resources. The library is supposed to provide these alternative viewpoints. Civic institutions are meant to be inclusive, not exclusive to one religion. Save the Christian doctrine for church. As a non-Christian I feel very unwelcome at the public library here. Despite what Christians may choose to believe, we are all entitled to the right of freedom of religion and also freedom from religion. Civic institutions are supposed to protect these rights and foster inclusivity, the fact that Lewiston public library does not do this sets a dangerous precedent.

When I was 12, it was summertime and my dad left me in a room that had games for kids age 13+. He didn't want me to get lost in that crappy place so he made me go in there and set up a game for me while he went browsing for books. Two ladies came in and forced me to go out of the room because they assumed I was too little. IT WAS A MONTH BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY and my dad didn't want me to get kidnapped or something. So after they very rudely forced me out, I had to go find my dad while crying because I was alone and scared and they didn't care. If I could, I would sue

It's alright if you aren't looking for a large variety of books. However, if you are looking for a good library, this area doesn't have it. You're better off buying books online. Don't be deceived by the high rating this library currently holds on google....

Our leadership team has a real winner in the Lewiston City Library downtown Lewiston. U.S.Representative RUSS FULCHER held his town hall meeting on the second floor 10/11/19. The meeting was well attended.

Not only does the library have an excellent selection of books to choose from, but it is a beautiful environment to be in whether you are reading for pleasure or getting work done. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and they are always willing to help you find what you need. They also offer a lot of great activities and programs for all ages. It is a beautiful place that every who has the opportunity to should take advantage of.

I helped build it. It's got a lot of things to do and see; books, videos, 3d printers, snack machines, coffee, awesome WI-FI, and nice helpful librarians and assistants..... What more could you ask for in a local library.....?????

Love this library! The downtown location is great and the remodel visually pleasing. My kids love the toys and computers and the children's librarian is excellent. If they had a coffee shop on site, it would be hard to leave. I'm looking forward to the new meeting room, teen space and especially rooftop garden!
