We share ideas, create professional learning opportunities, and support each other in our impactful work as school librarians. The Georgia Library Media Association has been a huge part of molding me into the librarian I am today. The other media specialists I have met through this organization have been amazing and I have developed life-long friendships with many of them. I know they have and will make every effort to advocate for our libraries and us at the state and local level. Our professional development through chats, conferences, meet-ups, Edcamp, and more have helped me with so many ideas and networking for projects that membership pays for itself over and over. GLMA supports school librarians around the state of Ga. They offer support, education, information, & comraderie. Summer Institute is the June conference that allows teacher-librarians to meet authors, try new things out, and share what we’ve learned over the past year.

I've love being a member of GLMA. For a nominal annual fee, their website is continually updated with LOTS of great information for library media specialists, the Summer Institute conference in June has over 35+ informative sessions, good 1-1 time available with K-12 vendors, excellent keynote speakers and great networking opportunities. A "must belong" organization for any K-12 library media specialist in Georgia !!!!
