I have used Dekalb County Libraries for close to 30 years. I can readily say they are great. My favorite spots are Decatur, Clarkston, Stone Mountain and Northlake. There are so many wonderful resources through the library and I think a lot of people just don't realize what a jewel this library system is.

Great selection of books. I come here to read science fiction and romance. They have a great selection of the lastest books. They have programs that are free which help the community that is often better than paid help. 5 stars. Love this library. It is the best in Georgia that I have seen by far.

This has the largest collection and the longest hours of any of the branches. While I very much wish the library system as a whole were better funded, this is the best of the lot nearby. Good selection of fiction and nonfiction. The smaller branches seem to lean very heavily towards popular novels and how-to books; this one is closer to a place where you can also do research. The children's librarians are absolutely wonderful, patiently and cheerfully helping small children who are not very articulate find something they liked. A+ attitude!

I Love the Library however, you can do almost nothing in 30 minutes. I personally have my laptop. Some people do not! There should be at least 60 to 90 minutes allotted to vistors. It takes about that amount of time just to get where you trying to get to online. Forbid you need to construct a resume. The time provided (30 minutes) That is something that should be re-evaluated. I do "Love" the Library , I just am disappointed for the onewho need more time. Thank you with Blessings Piled High!

I like this library. I don't remember the library policy but I often get annoyed by people eating food or talking loud as if they were at a cafe.

Homeless people park in the building like they are cars!! Soon as the place open they stay in there from open to close!! They go to the store with they food stamp card and come back to eat in the building!! Security don't say nothing to them!!!

This is by far the noisiest library I have ever had the misfortune of trying to work in. DO NOT VISIT. The librarians have no interest in making this public library a quiet and respectful work environment!

I use this library for so many things: books, quiet place to study or do research, nice place to find quiet on a hectic day. The selection is not as good as it could be but NPR best books lists from years gone by helps match me to the right read. I love the revolving art display and the fact that there always a lot of people in the library. Some of my favorite childhood memories include hours spent in my then small town library in Ocala, Fl. I love that Decatur has the same welcoming place to explore the world - sans card catalogue, of course!

Nice quiet (and free) place to work. There is wifi available and you can find a few places to plug in your computer.

Largest library in county but getting assistance can be challenging. I checked out a couple of books and one supposedly had a dvd or cd attached - it wasn't. I was charged for it despite me calling (repeatedly) & driving over to address it. They have a great seed program where you can get seeds most of the year for free. I have amassed a great collection if only I can get them to grow.

Yes it is great. The staff at the children's section is helpful and knowledgable. Staff is also friendly. It's a great atmosphere, especially when the Decatur Book Fair is on. My only slight complaint is that the wifi / networking setup has Amazon AWS blocked, so for you cloud developers out there, you'll have to get work done down the street at Java Monkey or Starbucks. Drat!

Only 30 minutes a day to use a computer??!!? It wasn't like there are 10000 people trying to use it. If i was able to continue to use 30 minutes and waiti in line ok but only 30 minutes. That's enough time for me to log on and figure out what I'm doing. No where near enough time for my online classes. The library itself is great though....

IF I could give zero stars I would. This library is not friendly to children with disabilities. Brought my Autistic child here today and when he started to melt down I started to leave, but only got as far as the first set of glass doors. My child went limp and was inconsolable. As I could not lift him ( he is 50 lbs. and was fighting being lifted) I sat with him in between the two sets of glass doors hoping to calm him down enough for him to walk on his own. A security guard came out and asked me to leave because of the noise. I explained he was Autistic and I was trying my best. He said he also had a child on the Spectrum, and he understood, but I still needed to move along. SERIOUSLY! If I could have moved along, I would have! Completely disappointed and disgusted by the reaction to my disabled son at this library and we will never step foot in this library again!
