Even though it's a smaller location is really well stocked with updated materials. Has self check area and computers. The staff is helpful and upbeat, it's always a pleasure stopping in.

This library needs better management. I don't mind kids but sometimes at this location there are too many of them and they can get too restless and loud and sometimes it feels over crowded. Some days are good but I've seen quite a few bad ones. Like the other day there were kids (Late teens/early 20's) talking too loud and the librarian just stood there and stared at them. I asked her to please tell them to be quiet and she doesn't do anything. Then when the kids overheard my complaint one of them started making loud snoring noises and he continued this for several minutes. The librarian still doesn't say anything. She wouldn't be the adult and put her foot down so I asked to see a manager and other employees tells me that this particular librarian is the manager. The main reason I come to this location is because it's the closest and within walking distance from where I live. And because people at the Main location can get pretty rough. I've been to at least 10 different locations in Jacksonville and a lot of them are not peaceful anymore. Either it's a bum hangout or they have these afterschool programs/daycare programs where kids are all over the place because people are scared they will get in trouble on the streets, so they put them in the libraries where they can get online and talk with strangers. Which 90% of the kids here always on their devices. So It just doesn't make any sense? Anyway, It just would be nice to go somewhere where there isn't a lot of commotion and people disrupting your work all the time.

I am constantly having problems with my books not being checked back in when I drop them off in the designated area inside the library. I'm once again going to have to call because I have an item "overdue", in addition to 3 other items still being on my account when I no longer have them. I simply don't understand the issue.

It’s a great place to study from 10-2:30 after 2:45 the middle schoolers get out of school and go to hang at the library and don’t shut up and then from about 4:45 to closing it’s quiet again.

Very nice kids area is a real delight. Librarians are very respectful and responsive. Children love going and getting on computers. Wish the had more couches. But overall nice quiet cold place to read.

Hazelnut Iced Coffee

The only problem I ever have with this location is their computers. Every time I log on (Every visit) they log me off then tell me to log back on. So I do and then it logs me off for an update. If I don't have trouble with getting knocked off they will all update. Rarely am I ever able to use a computer without any problems and I understand all computers need to update but 5 times a day? Per computer? Something's not right. None of the computers at the other Branches do that. They update but not like multiple times. So I asked the lady working behind the counter why they all do that and she tells me it's my card. No it's not my card. If that was the case they might want to get a better security system if my library card can control their computer operating system. That would be crazy. But anyway, It's really frustrating. I hope they can fix it soon.
