Great public library, friendly staff. Not the best place to study if you're looking for a very quiet environment. Even the study rooms aren't sound proof- you can hear right through the walls if someone is working in the other room.

Excellent center, the staff is always friendly and ready to help- never had a poor experience with any staff member. The programs are free and fun (even for adults!) The children's librarian Mrs. Sharon is an absolute gem! I have loved coming here for over 20 years

So here is the problem I have with this branch- the library staff never stop talking. Libraries used to be a place where the staff would quiet perpetual talkers to preserve the environment condusive for reading and study. Here it seems like it’s the readers that need to have this discussion with the staff.

The library provides many quality resources, from the staff, programs, facilities and tons of information and entertaining data in many mediums. From paper periodicals and books of all genres for all ages to electronic media (eBooks, CD, DVD, computers). There is easy access to media from all, state wide DE Public Libraries and some Colleges to order, pick up and return here. There's also an accredited eUniversity that you can take classes at home for free. Many activities, classes, seminars, movies, music, (informative and/or entertaining) presentations and diverse clubs offered and hosted here. It's The Place for intellectual stimulation and social interaction for ages 1-99, with varied interests and needs. Oh! It's actual name is South Coastal Library and Cultural Center. And.it.truly is!?
