It's a very nice library. But the loudest I've ever been at. Can't quietly study with my children because the kids section is more like a playroom. No control over kids running around in the library and being loud. I was asked to move if the noise was bothering me.

The librarians are mostly gentle helpful people. The Library has a new policy of barring bathroom use to anyone without a library card. Due to a recent incident, they’re exploring getting an armed guard. They previously had police cadets who were basically useless. I was robbed twice there in ‘17 and they offered no help. Mostly it seems the library wants to appease donors by getting rid of the riffraff. Also periodicals frequently sit somewhere out of sight before someone finally gets around to putting them out to be enjoyed by patrons. Book holdings are sparse and there are no research resources to speak of. If all you want to do is check out a book now and then, this place is for you.

The library is clean, quiet(unless you go when there is a mini-con),the staff is really friendly,the children section is the best place to take your kids to learn and play, great little theatre for people who want to just chill and relax, also a great place for teens and adults who enjoy anime to get away from real life ,They also help the homeless by letting them get out of the cold during the day until they close.Best place I've been ever since the old one shut down and got a bigger place I recommend it to anyone and everyone. wonderful.

The Dover public library is, by far, the nicest library I've ever been in. The staff there are very friendly and extremely helpful. The children's area is perfect in every way! My 4 kids LOVE going to the library now and ask everyday to go there. Most of the staff have the patience to deal with children being children there. They understand that young children don't always use library voices and can't sit still very long. We went from not going to a library at all to now going to the Dovee public library 3-4 times a week!!

You can come and get lost in fun! if you visit the front desk you can see all the activities listed, there use to be movie theater seating in the back but they boarded it up that was saddened and they took out the couches in the back now it's just two or three hard wood chairs and tables it's beautiful place

The library is clean, well organized, appropriate ly quiet, and reasonably stocked. The bathrooms smell however, or at least the men's bathroom does. The librarians are very helpful. Went on a Saturday to find books I could use in writing a lesson plan for heart of darkness and things fall apart. I was able to get what I needed within a decent time frame.they were a many transients Who sit on the benches outside. I suspect that is the reason for the horrible bathroom smell. Aside from that however I had a pleasant experience

Overly big and expensive for Dover, in my opinion and sometimes people ask you for money when walking through the parking lot, which can be a little startling after sundown. At least the City has learned that they need a continual police presence in the building these days.
