I was a visitor at Claymont , my hosts told me about the library. I spent atleast 4 hours every day at the Claymont library before I returned back to India , my home. I enjoyed every minute at the library , what an amazing place, good collection of books, magazines , news paper etc. The ambiance was good, the people at the library very friendly and happy. I thoroughly enjoy every minute at the Claymont library.

Modern, clean library with lots of newer books and a wonderful kids' area. Plenty of desk space for studying. Lacks a gender-neutral bathroom in the adult area, but there is one in the children's section.

Nice and quite place to read. Library is small but has lots variety with newer books. Great selection of books. Kids are is very good and has lots of events planned. People working here are very nice and helpful. I was visiting claymont and my friend suggested me to visit. Have spent lot of time and liked it very much

Ive been going to The Brandywine Hundred with zero problems for almost 16 years. Ive checked out crates several times. Well i go to the claymont library, check out a crate and dvds like normal for my autistic toddler. Well the lady didnt know what she was doing checking me out, they had trouble. So when I tried to return it they told me im missing things. After explaining over and over i didnt know what they were talking about and would never steal a childs book. They told me "Dont worry we removed it from your account" and vontinued to talk about me with each other about how i stole something from the crate. I was so offended i left and havent been back, been going back to Brandywine Hundred. Well now, months later im getting emails to return the crate....are they serious? Are they going to ruin me being able to take my disabled daughter to the library over a missing piece of paper? An accident? I returned the books. Now they're saying I owe them after being told it was taken off. Wow. We have no internet or tv so the library is my kids lifeline and they want to ruin it after telling me IM FINE! Beyond offended and furious for my child. Im a Mama Bear and nothing about this is right. They should know we went home and combed the house for that paper. I cant pay for 20 book and wont if i already returned them. And my mother was witness both times.

I am mostly in the children's section but I often find many great reads in the front of the library for adults. Nice and bright, plus really great children's selection at this location. I also like that the children's section is separate from the rest of the library.

The system and charges for late books need to change. As a teacher and single parent, I can not always make it to the library to return books. When I tried utilizing the online option to renew books it only allowed me to renew two books out of the six I had checked out. What is the purpose of having an online feature of it doesn't always work. When I tried paying on a late fee in the past, they couldn't accept debut transactions of less than 5.00. Now the fee is up to 10.00 and I am not able to check out any books until the fine is paid. The receptionists are very nice though. They are helpful but they can not work with much due to how the system is set up there. Will be starting to tea books through online websites and apps again. Very disappointed.

Ordered a book from here to my school library. I live in Delmar. Reasonably far. Took them a month to ship the book. At least it arrived in decent condition.

I normally have a very pleasant experience here, but today the male librarian who checked out my materials was not very friendly to me. I greeted him, said please and thank you multiple times, and never received a positive response from him. I hope maybe it was just that he was having a bad day, and not personal against me.
