This one of my favorite libraries. Clean, great resources, and feels like a library should feel. Darien's library is more modern, but great as well. Stamford's is pretty bad in comparison.

The Woods branch is way better/nicer staffwise, but the downtown brach has a bigger selection.

This is a great library with beautiful space for kids on the second floor. Toddler/kids programs are very educative, well thought of and most of all fun. My 2 year old really enjoys going there and you can't miss their annual Star Wars reads day... lots of fun!

I don't understand the 4.8 rating. It's a good library, but not a 5 star library. It just isn't. The facility is kind of outdated and "library-like." In other words, it's not distinctive. You can talk all you want about great programs, there are many, and selection, it's good. But it's not enough to compensate for a lame environment. That said there are rooms on both floors that are fantastic, dripping with history. You can get a study room for 2 hours (and sometimes more on a slow day). I don't visit the kids section anymore, but I remember my little guys had a good, not great time there. Oh, and the parking. Not good. I don't even try anymore on an average day. I automatically park in the parking lot next door and follow the path to the library.

A great place for kids in the children's library- it was built for them. It is more interesting, playful and unique than most children's museums in CT!

I love our local Fairfield library! The children's floor is magical - quite an improvement from the old one. The art gallery is lovely and the staff is always helpful. It really feels like a respite - lovely place to visit!

They have a wonderful kids corner. This is a staple for rainy snowy days where the kids can play in a safe and educational setting. Our kids love it here and everyone on the staff is very helpful and kind. This is a great library.

From a children's library that's set up like a playground, complete with a castle with little hide aways and its own sunroom, to computer rooms and preschool classes this library is a killer resource for kids. There are study and meeting rooms for adults, an amazing assortment of online resources and the library itself is very good
