I had a very bad experience at this library today. It was very quiet for the most part and there was virtually not a lot of people walking around trying to locate books and using the computers as it usually is. Well, when I walked in I saw 3 library employees chatting at the front desk with each other and I assumed they were doing this because it was unusually quiet and they had nothing to do. As I was walking past the desk not a single one of them looked up and greeted me. I might as well have been the invisible man and for a moment as I was passing they continued to chat and gave me these ugly stares as if they want to say "go away, and don't you dare disturb us while we are talking." I was really astonished as to how rude and obnoxious these employees were and they seem to have forgotten if it were not for the customer they would not have a job and take it for granted. I knew one of the employees who was involved with that group and her name is "Sarah." She has been an employee there for quite some time, and I believe she is one of the supervisors who help run things over there. Well, if the supervisor has no respect for the customer, the rest of the employees won't either. What I am trying to say is that every customer who comes through that door should be greeted with kindness, dignity, and respect regardless of their race, gender, religion, and national origin. Its the customer (taxpayer or donor) that justifies the existence of PPLD and without the customer, none of them would have a job, but these 3 employees this morning seems to have forgotten that and I will never go back to Sand Creek Library again.
