We've got all the information of real people like you who are purchasing the products of Pikes Peak Library District - East Library (Library) in Colorado.
To this day this business has a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the score has been based on 98 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is nearly the best one, and it is based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the rating is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Library belongs to the category of Public library.
Wifi is terrible but has some good books
Books, dvds, games all free. Pretty nice staff.
Nice place to get my homework done but by bike was stolen from the bike rack and according to security there are no cameras on the bike rack. USE THE BIKE RACK AT YOUR OWN RISK
We miss you PPLD. Your amazing East View, doll houses, class selections, children’s sections with live music and interactive story time too. Not to make light of your sprawling collection, And wonderful staff both paid and volunteers, You gave our family so much to look forward to for many years. Our communities were inter connected thru you. We even made new friends on snowy afternoons. No other library so far has compared to you. You’re a tough act to follow PPLD, it’s very difficult to fill your shoes. It really stinks but, we had to move. And after several years of being away, Still, we really miss you PPLD, We really do.
Brought 5 bags of books to donate weeks ahead of the October book sale. The books were refused, not very pleasantly, because "the room was full and the books are already organized, and we have to carry them up to the sale room". I would think that a)it would be easy to add the books in to the organized stacks, and b) more books to sell mean more money for the library. Smh.
Love the selection of books and can get all the prints i need for school
Staff are always friendly and there to help. I love how the computers to use (with printer) are up on the second floor. Always quiet there. Really quiet and peaceful compared to the super busy downtown one. My kids and I love the kids zone where children can play, get books and movies.
How a library should be! Big, spacious, lots of tables (many of which have power to charge a laptop or phone), fast internet, clean bathrooms, and tons of materials. This is a great place to study or to use for work (and get a break from the office).
Having moved from California it's nice to be able to use a library that isn't also a hobo camp. Inside the reference materials are arranged is a useful manner and I never knew library staff could be so helpful or knowledgeable.
Beautiful views. Great place to focus. Plenty of room to sit and I like there is visible security.
My 16 year old Autistic son and I like to go to your East Library and together. We read books together and he likes to play a few games on the computer. We went there today and were reading a Dr Seuss book in the back corner of the kids area. An employee approached us by the name of ****. Even though we have been going to that library for a year with no issues, she told us that that area was for kids only and that we had to leave. I explained to her that my son was special needs and that these were the books at his reading level. I also explained that he likes to look at the kids movies and play the computer games. She did not care at all and said that he would have to read them somewhere else in the library and that we would have to go sign up for a computer spot elsewhere in the library. I told her that we had never been asked to leave before and she said "Well you must not come on Tuesday nights because that is when I work." This interaction was incredibly offensive! It was a very slow night and there were only 3 or 4 other children in the entire area. We were quietly reading in a corner. She marched up and made it very clear that we were not welcome there and that we had to leave. My son was hurt and did not understand why we had to leave. We now know that the East Library is not accepting or tolerant of special needs and they are not welcome there. We will not be back and I will sure let people know that special needs are not accommodated there. That employee was rude, condescending and unwilling to allow my special needs son to enjoy the library like he has for the past year without incident. I am incredibly upset and I am crushed when my son is treated like that.
The service here is fantastic. There is an amazing book selection. And I'd if your child like manga then there is a lot of manga books. It is a great place to hang out with your friends and a great place to do homemade at and to do research. The staff is helpful and amazing. There is a teen, tween, kid, and adult sections. The service is reliable and it is a safe space. There is a outdoor section and a park. There is places to have business meeting and homework sections l
The East library is another great library in the ppld system. I regularly attend and have meetings there.
Great kids section!
One of the better if not the best branches in the springs. The parking lot entrance can get a little chaotic, but it's nice and clean inside with a great kid's area.
Love this library! The staff is always courteous and helpful, and the library is clean and well managed; Easy to find the materials I'm looking for!
A fairly large library with a unique building structure, beautiful grounds, and friendly employees
great place to sit and read
Best branch in the city. Quiet and plenty of room and material. Tons of books! Way more than the pathetic 21c library branch, that branch has 5% of what this branch has.
I like the library as a library for books and activities. But for actually studying it's terrible. I can't watch a very simple lecture because the WiFi is so weak! Improve the WiFi strength and I would come back.
I am new to town and was pleasantly surprised and happy that this is my local library. All of the amenities that I'm looking for and a good selection of books without having to hunt for everything online only to order in advance and pick it up. The only thing I would have liked to see more of it are places to plug in either my phone or my computer. Lots of seating but not many outlets.
Good place to work from.
Great library, and recently remodeled. We like their toddler times and kid section, room for growth but the kid always enjoys it.
The PPLD East Library is a solid place to pick up a book or have a quite place to read. It is sort of tucked away off of Union so don't look for it right on the main road. The staff is always friendly and their selection of books and periodicals is pretty good. If you don't have a library card it takes all of about 5 minutes to sign up. Just make sure and have your Colorado DL ready to show.
Awesome library location! The kid's section with toys is so fun and we love hanging out on the reading porch with the incredible view.
Excellent library, teen center, and park.
I'm only giving them a good star rating because of the renovation they did months ago. It helped make the place look nicer.
Very modern and everything a library should be
Great place to come and work for a few hours. I like to find a quiet seat near the back of the building with a great view of the mountains. Our kids enjoy playing in the kids area and the educational resource center upstairs has lots of learning activities and occasionally have crafts or more structured activities that we love to do. There also is a maker space that has 3D printers, laser cutters, and more. You can really make or build just about anything here. And that’s not even mentioning the books. There is a wide selection of old and new releases for both books and movies. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and the selection of those available digitally is vast. I never lack for something to read or listen too, from old classics to current new releases. Our card is kept close to the max with all of the kids books, read-a-long books, and even tablets you can check out. We love the library system here in Colorado Springs.
*Drive-through BALLOT BOX* This library is very well prepared to handle the volume of traffic they receive. Parking on-site, and there is plenty. Great media resources. Current resource technology.
I love this branch of PPLD. The views are great, there are always opens spaces for me, the wifi is always perfect, prints are cheap, you never have to wait to use a computer, the updated technology makes every visit so convenient. Talk about one incredible facility for our community of Colorado Springs!
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and organized
Spacious and quiet library, with a generous selection of books and audiovisual materials. Generations Y and Z will like their growing selection of eBooks and other digital media available online. I regularly put materials on hold, and make a quick stop by to pick them up when ready. My only negative thought is of their less-than-useful opening hour (from someone who works a standard 9-5 job).
This place is truly a step up from the other branch that is close. Kids area can but a little bit of a handful but it’s expected since a lot of kids interact in the space together. Makes going to the library a pleasure when you want to relax as well as enjoy a Sunday when the weather is not the greatest.
Just fantastic people who are willing to help! Huge selection between libraries, and if you get their app, you can move items between libraries for convenience on the way home! Coming from a small town, these folks do a great job managing such a large library system.
Quite place
Me and my grandsons love it here!
I went into this branch to get a library card today, and I've never felt more unwelcome in a library. I stood in line for several minutes. When it was my turn, I told the employee that I'd like to get a library card, and she responded with a deep sigh and told me to step aside so she could help someone who 'just wanted to check out' since it would be faster. She then beckoned to the lady behind me in line and told her to come on over. I was polite about it, but thought it was very rude since I had been waiting in line as well. She obviously hadn't planned on helping me after that either because when she was finished with the lady, she beckoned the next man in line over. He said she should help me first since I had been waiting. I'm pretty sure that was the only reason she helped me at all! There were three other people checking patrons out at the time, and ALL the self checkout machines were open, which makes it even worse. I'd avoid this branch if you want to get a library card. They don't seem to want to help you get one. I hope some of the other branches are more welcoming.
libraries are one of the best things in society!
Great library! The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to the fact that it's a bit outdated and doesn't have a lot of the modern amenities other libraries have. Other than that, it has computers, study rooms, good children's area, great magazine section, and I believe more options than 21c. They have a separate teen area too and an indoor/outdoor reading area with great views. Check them out.
Great library to get books, dvds, etc. Added a makerspace and pc lab upstairs recently. Remodel looks great!
Old time library, part of Andrew Carnegie's foundation to open libraries across America. Really nice architecture too.
Good library. The only one I really use in town. The film negative scanner they have is a life saver, I just wish it was more regularly available.
Great well maintained place to work on school work.
i want 5550 N Union Blvd
Good Library My Day Program Likes Coming Here Every Monday To Return And Check Out Movies But They Are Starting To Go Down Hill But Lot Of Times They Don't Care If The DVDS Work I Had That Happen A lot But Some of The Staff Are So Quick To Set You up Real Fast Had That Happen Not To Long ago It's Been Happening to My Brother Brandon Smith The One That Pisses Me Off the Most If The DVDS Or DVDS Sets Are Scratched Lot Of Time They Put Them Back Of The Shelf
@ HH Thompson not sure if you will see this or not contact the local americans with disabilities center i am so sorry they treated you like this, and most especially your son unfortunately some dead brained idiots STILL dont understand autism i will definitely not be going to that library
This facility is awesome. You can borrow video games, audio books, along with regular items. They also have a 3D printer for use. They allow you to print up to 10 pages per day at no charge. They have the ETC (East Teens Center). They offer classes of all kinds to learn various skills.
Wifi was much faster than other PPLD branches. 25-45Mbps download when I was there atleast.
Did you guys ever clear out the homeless people that hang out here all day? I used to go here after school when I was in high school and had to go to the very back of the library before I could find a free spot where a homeless person wasn't sitting. Haven't gone back since I got out of high school because of how bad it was and am weary of going back but I think they should have fixed that problem by now.
Best library in the Springs.
We have participated in the Summer Reading program for years and are beyond grateful for the amazing enrichment programs you offer. ThanksThanks for all you do!
Very nice interior since the recent remodel. They have updated the computer lab and added a 3D printer. The children and teen zones are exceptional with a lot of materials and space for kids to mingle. We haven't participated in any of the many programs offered but it's clear that this is a major community hub. Staff is always knowledgeable and helpful.
Staff have created a beautiful and serene space for patrons. Thank you PPLD!
In terms of the atmosphere here, it's nice and organized, the computers are helpful, and a lot of good areas. However these computers doesn't seem to work with other games that isn't already installed. (Ex: League of Legends) So if you're planning to play PC games that isn't on here, go to a different library.
Beautiful building. The most aggressive book-weeding I've ever seen. Most shelves are only half full, and could only find one of the five young adult classics I looked for.
Plenty of parking, large facility, lots of private rooms for studying, kids area is well kept and monitored, well organized and easy to navigate,
Great Library
Staff will not do anything about the petitioners loitering on library property. These people are paid to collect signatures for issues they don't care about (often skewing the truth or outright lying) by people with a private agenda and too much money. I don't appreciate having to listen to or try to avoid them every time I want to check out a book. They are the very lowest grade of panhandler.
Best library I've ever gone to. Nice computers, nice staff, nice management and, nice security guards.
nice and quiet place to relax and get some work done
The most comfortable place in Colorado Springs to relax for an hour or two, next to home.
Very nice library. My daughter loves books by Raina Telgemeier and Meg Cabot. Great library.
Amazing Library! Great people, and friendly. They know their stuff. If they don't have it, they will get it for you. Great way to watch movies. And I love to read so.....me and libraries are a match made in Heaven!! Pick up a book, you'll LOVE it! My boy could read by the time he was four. Books are great!! Have a wonderful day.
I am beyond sick of being harassed by petitioners outside this library.
