I was kicked out of the "teen section" while quietly reading a book. The "teen section" is the only quiet place from which I can still see my kids playing. Also to add insult to injury there wasn't a single "teen" in the "teen section". So basically I was asked to leave my quiet corner for absolutely no reason. I'll be sure to just come get books and leave next time.

I love the newly remodeled library. #buildingnewreaders

PRIVACY POLICIES AT THE FRIGGIN LIBRARY?!?!? Look lady, I just need to find my idiot husband who leaves his phone everywhere, because it's an EMERGENCY. Not trying to commit jihad! Privacy policy at the library...stupid as hell...you're not a hospital...you're not a sanctuary...and god forbid if you ever tried to pull that on me with my kid!!

Story time for the kids is great, but I wish they had one for older kids too. Need more activities or classes for preschool and elementary school kids. Helpful nice staff.

For a local library, the Golden Library works quite well to reflect the entire community: books, movies, access to books-on-tape, as well as to other library branches to get a book not held on its premises. It serves everyone but those who believe every corner of libraries ought to be run like morgues. There are many opportunities for interactions of children with other children and their family members in the main room, with side rooms for more private places to conduct business or read, to engage in specific chats and/or presentations of interest that target both children and adults, and to display current literature on accessible tables at the entrance. There could be one or two more rooms for quiet interactions with a book/materials to take place, but perhaps it will come with more donations to help realize its growth plan. All in all, it's a good place for all, especially to encourage children to read, discover, be creative, and engage in the community of like-minded individuals.

The staff are very friendly and helpful! Even though the library is small, they can order books from the JeffCo area and receive them in under a week. It's in such a perfect area to grab a book and read by the creek too.

Beautiful branch location with spectacular views, inside is just as beautiful and well-organized! Definitely appreciate the small town feel with an amazingly friendly staff!

The remodeled library was very disappointing. it was extremely noisy and the adult book collection seems to have shrunk considerably. I realize the circulation for some books may not match the circulation of romance or mystery novels but I believe a library should be much more than that. I realize I can order books onlne and just pick them up but I like to browse and will no longer do that at the Golden library. It's a sad experience when you have to go to the Tattered Cover bookstore and write down books you want to order because the shelves are bare.

I feel fortunate to have such a good resource in my community. We use it weekly. Great job with the remodel.

I recently started visiting this location because Belmar is undergoing remodeling. It's a smaller library than what we are used to, but it fills the need. What we really like about this location is storytime, when put on by Kelan. He makes its very enjoyable, adds his own flare and excitement. I've visited several other storytimes and his is by far the most interactive and enjoyable.

I remember when libraries were a place you could study and people were expected to be quiet. This is the loudest most disorderly library I have ever seen. Not once has it been peaceful or quiet, kids run around screaming and not a single librarian asks them to respect that other people come here to read or study. This place is a joke.

Great resource for online work stations

Small but expected. Staff is very helpful and they have a pretty good selection of dvds.

They always have the books I want, great selection, helpful nice staff. And it's located right on beautiful clear creek. Can't ask for more.

I went into the Golden library for the first time since the remodel. It was awful. No longer is it warm and inviting. No longer is it a place you'd like to browse for books. It's gray and industrial. It reminded me of a prison library. The shelves are metal. I can see over the tops of all of them. There aren't that many books anymore. No reason to browse. None of the areas with chairs look inviting. I know that if I weren't a current library patron, I would walk into that place and walk right back out. I hope they don't do this to Standley Lake. I'll cry. I assume the remodel was done by people who don't read.

I live in Golden and I enjoy coming to this library. My only complaint is that this library gets overly noisy a lot. Kids running around, people talking out loud thinking it's funny. One day while I was using the computer and some guy was sneezing and coughing like he has a cold, I said he should stay home in this case, and the librarian said it is a public library and everyone is welcome. I did not appreciate that but in all the staff here is very nice and helpful.

Jill from Arvada helped us get a card, showed us the new programs, and even showed us the museum and park passes! She went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. Thanks Jill! I love how small and intimate the library is and the staff picks help me discover books I’ve never thought to read or forgotten about!

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Nice experience every time I visit.

Love this library. The staff is friendly, helpful, and available if you need assistance. Story time for the little ones is amazing. Best of all, no matter how busy it is in Golden for events, there is parking available for library patrons. Thank you for the wonderful library and programs offered for all ages in Golden!

This isn't a library. It is a daycare center for screeching/crying rug-rats.

My favorite library! Friendly knowledgeable staff, interesting and current activities for all ages. Lucky to have them as a part of Golden

When you first walk in you see this desk with all of these wires running all around with 3 people in line to talk to the person behind this desk. Staff shortage ? As you try to find the actual books, you wade through what can only be described as a children's playground. There were about 10 children playng with toys and blocks making quite a bit of noise. None of them had a book. Neither did their mothers who were sitting on the sides talking or on their phones. This is encouraging literacy ? When I did actually find books, there shelves were very bare. A nice attempt was made to mask the lack of books by leaving the top and bottom shelves empty. The sitting area was nice, but watching a fake fireplace while it's 90 outside? And why would you need a place to sit down when there are no books to peruse ? I'm not sure who's idea this "remodel" was but was there any library patron involvement ? Or was this a management exercise that was done in private so that no one will question it ? I pay tax dollars for the library and am not happy with this model. I hope that the JCPL system will not be asking for an increase in the mill levy. The money they spent on this project could have been used to buy more books and not to provide a free playground.

Well organized and modern facility with excellent helpers makes an enjoyable experience

Staff is very helpful. Very easy to find the book you want. Comfortable nooks.

Sandy Lynam

More like a daycare center than a library, very loud, very few books. I'm very disappointed.

Benjamin Stock

The best library system I have seen. I come from Seattle. Seattle has a great reputation, but, I think this is better in terms of just about everything.

The library's remodel is fantastic! The library is keeping up with the times and has catered to the younger generation. It is inviting and fun! Well done!

I love this library!! It is always a pleasant place to be. It is never overcrowded, and the staff is excellent. We had used the prospector system to get a book from another library. We finished it and took it back. For some reason it never showed as returned. They checked all their records at the time and still could'nt find it, even though we did return it on time. The staff was wonderful. They took the massive fine off of our account and told us not to worry, that we would'nt be charged unless they could'nt find it after 6 months. Well I guess they must have found the book because it's been a year. Awesome library. The grounds are beautiful as well. Right next to Clear Creek. A must see.

I am extremely disappointed with the remodel, not only is it much noisier but the functionality is gone. While there is plenty of room to sit, it was taken at a cost of losing a considerable amount of books. I always thought the point of a library was to carry books but now it is being used as a social gathering? I am also extremely upset with the lack of study rooms, how does a library only have one study room? I realize Golden is a small town but it is also a college town and many students like to have study rooms to get groups together to study. I like the staff however I am extremely disappointed with this remodel.
