The Belmar Library is great. It has all of the features of your typical community library, but I think the kids section is what really shines here. Our kids love to go to story time and it's always well attended. My kids always stick around afterward to play and pick up a few books. They also have a summer reading program that's good for helping motivate kids to keep their reading up.

I love this library!! I always find what im looking for and even if its not in that day its usually waiting for me within a day or two. Plus they have an amazing childs area. They can play, listen to stories, or just dive in to the 1000's of kids books they have. My boys love reading thanks to the amazing experiences at this library.

Started going to this location after they shut down the location in Littleton for remodel. This location is always very busy, and luckily I place my orders online so that I don't have to wait. The computers are always in full use, and I can't say this is the quietest location I've been to. My main disappointment lies in the selection of books, particularly fiction. Every time I go to find specific, well-known authors, none of them are on the shelf. I can't ever find titles I want either, and that is why I am left putting holds online. It shouldn't be hard to find one book by Stephen King, but somehow it is.

I have always loved this library; I have been going here for 4 years now for books for both myself, and the kiddos I work with. This library in itself, is great. I love the set-up and available books and options for kids, as a group teacher, it is a fantastic resource. I had a really bad costumer service experience today, and that's what makes this less than 5 stars. I lost my old library card, so I registered online to get a new one, and reserved a book with the new card that they gave me. I went to the customer service desk to get my new physical card and my reserved book, and let them know I found my old library card and that if they didn't want to waste a new card on me, I could just keep my old one since I had found it. I explained this to the woman working the area, and she looked at me and just said in a hateful voice "There is no such thing as an OLD and NEW card." The man who had been at the desk previously, but was helping anther lady, told me that I would need to get my NEW card to put my books on, and present my OLD card to the woman and explain to her that I had a reservation on the NEW one. His terms, not mine, I was repeating what another friendly librarian had told me, that guy, he was quite helpful. I apologized, and told her that I just wanted to make sure my books were in one spot, to make it easier for both the library staff, and myself, regardless of there being a "new" and "old" card. I didn't want fines or anything if that was the case. At this, she again just said "THERE IS NO NEW AND OLD CARD YOU HAVE ONE FILE" slapped my Drivers License back on the counter and told me to have a good day. I will say, she did these things with a really false smile on her face, I appreciate her trying to make it seem like she was being nice, but I was completely embarrassed with how she treated me, and I actually ended up having to put my reserved book BACK on the shelf and formulate a new lesson plan, because she didn't resolve my issue or help me figure out why the library card I had just gotten wouldn't check out the book I reserved, the only answer she gave me, was there is no new and old cards, I had one file, and it should work. I was too scared to go back and ask her for help with this issue, because she treated me like I was stupid. I am disappointed in this experience. I plan on locating a new jeffco library to use my card at, instead of something coming up and the potential to having to deal with this person again.

I love it at this library! The staff is wonderful and will help you find whatever you're looking for. My only problem is they're closed so often. They need better hours of operation. :/

Since moving to lakewood from Denver ive gone to this library countless times over the yrs and us always been a nice, clean, safe and friendly environment over the yrs especially for children. Definitely nothing negative to say here

The staff Ronnie needs to work on her anger management... She was having a grown woman fit with the printer today kept saying it was jammed. I mean she was even refusing help from her coworker (come on lady there's a line forming and I've been waiting for 12mins, please take the damn help!) and became even more upset when the other staff started to assist her. I think she needs some additional training won't be asking Ronnie for help when I come to this library.

I love this library. The people there have always been very helpful, friendly and pleasant to talk to. The reading area for kids is great and well designed. The reading area at the other end for adults is an inspiring place to sit and read. Can't say one bad thing it.about it

Staff was helpful and found a study room for me. Security guard followed me and my partner around throughout the time we were at the library waiting for the study room and even after we were in the study room. Despite us minding our own business, he stopped near us every time he came around (every 15-20 mins or so) and pretended to look at things conveniently in the same direction as us as an excuse to consistently stare at us. Don't come here if you're not straight or cisgender. This is also the only library I've been to with a security guard walking around and honestly it feels more threatening than safe. Being a minority is not the same as being a criminal and minority individuals do not exist to be this security guards entertainment. Treat us like humans.

I love this library! It's spacious, easy to browse through, and has art displays. Right next to a great park with seats by the windows so you can see the greenery as you read.

I do love Belmar Library and its staff, they are always so helpful to people and they seem to enjoy serving others – always with a smile and kindness they answer questions as people approach them. I go there almost every weekend with my son. They definitely do so many good things for our community. I LOVE them!

Large magazine section, vibrant & kind staff, peaceful spots to get lost in a book, private study rooms, all surrounded by beautiful outdoor space and a nearby shopping area.

Good older library with large tables and chairs to study in the far corner of the structure, just turn right as you walk into the main area. Study rooms are often booked but that'll happen with such a busy library. The great kids area is sectioned off so that helps keep noise down. Helpful staff are always around and personable and approachable. There are lots of public computers and even a gift shop. Movie selction is just ok. I prefer this older library to some of the newer libraries recently built. This library feels like an academic library unlike the Edgewater or Corky Gonzalez branch which feel like "Library Fastfood" structures (no large tables and lots of tiny uncomfortable chairs.)

Dysfunctional layout. There are many tables and nooks for doing g work but only one table has a power strip for plugging in a laptop. To make matters more bizzare there are two strips on this wall and to access them you need to have your back to the West where the settings on reflects off your computer screen. Bad design.
