REVIEWS OF Arvada Library - Jefferson County Public Library IN Colorado

Great library. Friendly staff. I only wish the children's section had some sort of bean bags or comfy spots to cuddle up with a good book.

Carrie Ann Morales

used to be a really nice place now the bathrooms are filthy, they need a security guy for some reason and they let all the homeless people sleep right in front of the doors and on the sidewalk! yuck

Cheyenne Icenhower

This is where the kids from Arvada k-8 go to make out with their middle school boyfriends. Extremely disturbing when I'm trying to read my books and there are 13 year olds trying to put their hands up some girl's shirt. Get your stuff together, Arvada Library.

John Chavez

The library is clean and modern. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I mostly go with my 10-year old who always enjoys our time here. Parking is usually a challenge, but if it's a nice day you can park at the RTD Park-N-Ride and walk a couple of blocks to the library (and other places in Olde Town)!

Ashley Braun

A nice library. They have a nice selection of books and movies. I wouldn't say it's cozy or a great place to sit and read or work. They are more like a store compared to other branches.

Betty Shue

I am very happy with this library. Everyone is very friendly and most helpful. Thanks to everyone involved.

Kathleen Wilbur

Wonderful staff, anything available through Jeffco or prospector, comfortable facility in nice area.

Frank Prorock

Not as good as Stanley Lake. Why? Because there are teenagers there that do whatever that like and disrupt others from reading and studying. Talking out loud isn't enforced, because that would be politically incorrect. You could hurt someone's feelings. Whatever happened to the good ole days if you were talking in a library you would get your butt ejected out of there?

Love this Library, they have several sections where you can go chill in a chair and read a magazine or book. Also they have one where it's like adult and older teen only so there is no talking allowed... thru have adult section and child section have fun...

Not safe anymore. We used to walk up to this library from our home. Not any more. There are homeless people everywhere around this place, inside and out. We don't even feel safe using the drive through return any more. The City of Arvada needs to do something. There are fountains right next door which is used as a bathroom. Totally unsafe. I recommend staying away and using a different library.

LeeAnn Dowdell

I love this place!!! They are always so helpful!!

Edward Richardson Morrison

This library once had a "mosquito" -a buzzing annoying noise producing device- to 'deter loitering'. Which doesn't work. It only make the public square nearby uninhabitable for young adults. But when they were asked, it was taken down. I cannot thank them enough.

Holly Dietschwright

Used to be a safe and clean place to go. My sons enjoyed going there a lot. Then, the homeless started coming in and harassing the kids. My 7 year old had a man yell at him because he didn't have money that he begged him for. Scared him very bad. Now he still won't go there. Its a pity that people who contribute to Arvada don't get to enjoy what should be a gem in old town.

Within walking distance of my home and a great place to visit when in Olde Town Arvada. Good selection and great place to reserve items. Plenty of self-checkout terminals and computers.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is occasionally sparse if there is an event in Olde Town. The Library is often a bit louder and more crowed than the Standley Lake or Wheat Ridge branches, though far less so than Belmar.

Nate Larcom

Something needs to be done about the homeless people It's not very fun to take your kid to baby time at the library when there's homeless people everywhere It's a scary environment There's too many homeless people hanging out there It's supposed to be a place for family and kids not for Homeless drunks to hang out

Alfred Weaver

Always helpful, respect quiet rule. Meeting rooms, movies, public restrooms two floors.

Deek Gray

Great helpful staff. Very nice facilities (including computers provided for guest). Clean, with plenty of workstations as well as confortable seating.

I've only been here a couple of times. The library is a bit small and doesn't have a ton to choose from. It is very nice though. I have noticed homeless people hanging out in there the times I've gone. Recently though I got a lot of sass from a librarian. I don’t usually hang out at the library, but one time I decided to and I sat at an open table that was apparently in the teen section. A librarian came over and asked me condescendingly if I was a teen and then told me I had to move. I was really frustrated by the way she treated me so I left. I think I’m going to stick with hanging out at the Standley Lake library when I want to get out of the house to work.

Bigben Siampaints

Always great library to use quiet study room, check out great books and dvd movies

This library as 2 sets of rules. 1. for the general public 2. Tools they use to trespass homeless. The computer section fills up early with OBNOXIOUS, RUDE and privileged future achievers who spend the entire day playing video games. I've been sitting across from 2 middle schoolers who have been asked a minimum of 5x to plz keep it down by patrons in the area and the look on ones face is obvious he's gonna get his ass kicked many times in his future. Library Staff allows this because after all......there are 2 sets of rules!

The library and staff are wonderful. The teenage patrons are terrible -- afternoons after school. These teenage bums are rude, crude, vulgar, nasty and very noisy. Most of these kids are not there to study, but to create havoc and harass the staff. Library staff cannot handle them. Very distracting and diminishes the value of this wonderful facility. This needs to be addressed.

Always have a book or movie to use.

Fantastic place for kids young and old. Our toddler loves the train table and tumbling/play room. Library staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Just a great place to spend a day.

It just breaks my heart to know that the library is not safe anymore. You can't even go in there to print some papers off the computer without feeling like a homeless person's gonna mug you. Also the smell is another issue.

Zane Jones

This is literally my home outside of home. I volunteered a ton of hours last summer, and plan on doing it again. I don't really care for the teen gamers, but the volunteers are great!

Melissa Gallegos

A superb location with expert staff. Ample amount of comfortable reading locations upstairs in the reading room.
