I wandered through the summer heat, seeking shade and A/C. I stopped in the garden before approaching a golden tiled building. I entered through sleek sliding glass doors and entered an aquarium walled oasis of peace and tranquility. I found a copy of a book and settled down to read, but scarce had I settled in my seat when a security guy who looked exactly like Lobot from Star Wars glided up and asked me if I had kids, which I didn't. I was then forcibly evicted from the premises. My mother and sister on the other hand were allowed to stay indefinitely, along with some chatty highschool girls. So, I went over to the teen section - and it happened again! I'm not even that much older than 18. I've since noticed they have security cameras everywhere, and I'm pretty sure they've got facial recognition software. If you have a driver's license, they'll know exactly who you are and your age. This place really is the 21st century. biG bRoThEr iS wAtChIng YOU. And you're probably a perv... I give five stars for the place and ambience, zero for the computer wifi which is abysmal and ZERO for paranoid security guards who have nothing better to do than look at everyone as if they're Mr. Stranger Danger.

Not sure how they monitor their computers -250 public computers but they better figure it out. Got a scam coming out of there from rarecaps with gateway through shopify, scamming people all over the world for alot of money. This is America and these computers should be monitored better than this.

My experience for first time been there was great ., I have 3 kids that love the kids section. Is very big Library it have many sections 2 two story building, very clean. One of favorites place to take my kids . Oh but the way Cerritos Lynette card is only free for Cerritos residentes.

Amazing library, they have kids space and teenage space. (13-18) great layout plenty of computers and private rooms for meetings and private conversations. Absolutely beautiful inside and out.

This library is massive compared to the ones ive been to. I was completely amazed right when i came in. It has plenty of study areas and very quite- conducive for studying. The only thing i dont like about this library is that it doesn't have free wifi access to non residents of Cerritos. Theres actually a fee in order to use it but you can use their computers to access the net. Its quite a bummer cuz other libraries allow their patrons- local or visitors- free use of the wifi. I think this library should allow free use of wifi to everyone not just residents with a library card.

It the best for serious seekers of knowledge and information. It is a great community place too! Lots of events and activities are regularly organized. Muni., police and fire brigade are also situated next to the library. Car parking is large and safe. People working provide help and assistance politely and with smiling face!

Too bad this library membership is only for Cerritos resident and business. I love the children area with the big fish tank and t-Rex fossil. My toddler love the t-Rex and calls it the big library with T-Rex.

The library is a great place to study and get work done. However, some particular staff are rude. For example, today I used a stool to help my friend with her homework and a staff told me I couldn't "move" the furniture. When did it become a bad thing to use a chair? I just needed a chair to sit on so I could comfortably help my friend out. This isn't some petty review. In all honesty this place is not welcoming at all. That particular staff that told me I couldn't use the stool because I couldn't "move" the furniture is too unreasonable and I really hope this review ACTUALLY does something.

We had our wedding reception in the gorgeous Skyline Room in May. They wouldn't serve our red wine because of the new carpets, even with a deposit, so we had leftovers. Easy planning, hard working staff, and a BEAUTIFUL venue.

I absolutely love this library! It's beautiful and the staff is always nice and helpful. I can check out the books myself. Their wifi is fast and there is always a room to match my mood. They have everything and outside is just as nice with the art garden and fountain. The hours are a bonus. I always travel the 15 miles to study there because they're always open and it's a great environment. I wish more libraries where like this one!

Amazing selection of books and stories. It contains some rooms you can rent with you library card; they end up being very useful is you need a place to study or do a group project. The sculpture garden nearby is also a nice place to travel to if you need a break from studying.

No cellphone signal anywhere in the building, WIFI connection is absolutely horrendous to say the least, and the public computers are decade old junk. Always crowded and very loud children. There is plenty of parking and the place looks really nice, and there is an outlet at nearly every table; but if you're not a resident of the city or a student at Cerritos College, be ready to fork over $100 for their meager selection of resources.

i don’t think this review even deserves a 1 star. the staffs at the library are so strict I can barely even breathe in there. I rented a room so i can study with my friends and i guess we were talking a bit loudly so one of the staff came in and kicked us out and she even blacklisted my card because I was the one who rented the room. my friend even walked into the library AND JUST BREATHED but one of the staff kicked her out when it was raining. UNBELIEVABLE. i hope they can fix this asap because a lot of the students are being kicked out for the stupidest reasons.

Best place to build up your knowledge. Quiet and the visitors have good manner. You can find discount book at the bookstore. Aquarium is awesome. All places are clean and comfortable. One thing leaves much to be desired is " a cafe" where I can enjoy coffee or snack.

Library is located in a nice area, has a parking structure, architecture is unique, has three stories, plenty of wide open spaces, a reasonable number of desks. But, unfortunately they have locked the public out of wifi network unless you have a library card, which you can only get if you live in Cerritos. I've road-tripped across many states, and often stop by a library for a break. Only in California have I encountered a walled off wifi network at a library in 2019. One time I came on a day where 90% of computers were free, and I asked if I could sit at a one of the desks to do work on my laptop, but I was not allowed to. Nice library, but it's like an airport lounge with a walled garden only for themselves.

I love the beauty of the library, but I think it is absolutely terrible they charge $100 for a library card. I think anytime someone is interested in going into the library, they should not be rejected the use of resources. Today technology use is required and using your own computer is important. The librarian told me I could not have access to the internet on my computer unless I had a library card. Then she told me to use one of their computers. This was not helpful because my documents where on my computer and I was working on a research paper. I think it is sad when so many places offer free internet so are you trying to keep visitors from coming that is what I felt like. Unwanted!!!!

Attractive library but extremely rude/ ridiculously strict staff. There’s an excessive amount of security and security cameras. You can’t even have coffee or food inside. Come here if you like being harassed by employees in a library that’s run like a prison. (I literally saw them scold someone for not having their shoes on all the way) they seriously need to calm down.

This library is a visual tour de force with an aquarium and art museum; however, if you are not a resident of the city of Cerritos, you will definitely get the feel that this place is "residents only". You can look around but can't get a library card or access to the computers without paying a very large fee, over $100 last time I checked. This is typical of the city at large which has many regulations and large fees to prevent "outsiders" from staying in the city or using their facilities. The lack of access to non-residents is the reason that this library is getting a lower score.

I have lots of memories in this place. Happy times and sad times. The renovations of this place is very nice. The library has a nice children section and a very large computer area on the 3rd floor.

This library used tobe a pleasant place to go to before encountering rude staff. Some of the staff were kind, and quite helpful if you requested their aid. However, a few specific staff members were quite rude recently to a couple friends and I. Such incidents include: -following us around tell us to leave the library for reasons like playing with cards or speaking to loudly (we were talking to each other in a very low tone) -Directly stopping us at the entrance if the library, and not allowing us to enter -Restricting us to one section of the library after finding us casually browsing the DVD selection This specific staff member was very rude and constantly made us leave the library on the account unreasonable claims (ie, accusing us of having complaints filed against us when no one, besides her, had played us any mind) The library has a good collection of literature , and is extremely useful for research/ But, it is not a place I would reccomend to attend for the reason of very disrespectful and petty staff.

State-of-the-art. Being the cultured individual that I am, I often visit the Cerritos library to checkout books/DVD's, print/copy and surf the internet. It's a great place to chill on a hot day and get your read on without having to pay money (unless you're not a Cerritos resident, then you have to pay). Self-checkout is very convenient if you don't want to deal with a line. I can stare at the fish in the saltwater aquarium for hours. Do yourself a favor and visit this gem in Cerritos.

The grounds and structure are absolutly bueatiful and well maintained witch irritates all the more because this is in no way a "public" library. Unless of course you live in cerritos but for the rest of us we are SOL cause you have to fork over 100 if you want unfettered access to their limited resources including the WiFi. Sorry but in this day and age a lack of free WiFi is a cardinal sin especially when the public computers you have are trash.

Great place to study, work, or just visit with friends. I really like this library for the sheer vastness of their collection. I really appreciate how they've manage to create different spaces for you to read, rest, or hang out. My friends and I love the aquarium and the layout of the children's book area as well as the availability of the study rooms upstairs (you'll need to reserve these though). Fun place to have quiet times to yourself.

This is library is really nice and big. Plenty of computers labs and study rooms. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. This is a beautiful library and I really enjoy coming here. There is plenty of parking available too. The WiFi is and all the other services are free as long as you are a Cerritos resident, student or you work in Cerritos otherwise there is a 99 dollars yearly fee. The best time to get some study done is any time prior 3 before the kids get out of school.

Unbelievable. I am appalled at this type of rude behavior from the security. There are two women, one with red hair and a shorter one with black hair. Well I'm talking about the latter. This woman has seriously been so rude to me and my experience at the library. I came here about two years ago and it was very pleasant but now I cant help but be severely disappointed. She talked to me in a rude way that made me very upset. Sorry but I am never coming here again and I recommend anyone not to stop by this library again. Also, my friend was kicked out just because we were talking too loud. Yeah it's reasonable but is it really when we were talking just a bit louder from a whisper. I am shocked. I was pretty excited to come back but what a downer. Please do something regarding the security because I am probably not the only one upset with them.

Been coming here for 2 weeks and I like it so much. Clean, quiet, staff is so helpful at the front Desk. There is a lady who always has a smile on her face. Didn't ask her name but she knows herself. Today I got a Tech Maria for my computer questions and was so impressed as she is the only Girl of 6 Techs. Near Cerritos Schools, the High School students are well behaved and respectful in the Library. There is Parking also underground so in this heat it is quite helpful. On top of that, the Sherriffs' Office is in the same place. So I feel safe even at night as I come out to the parking. It is quite a difference. Many libraries could get a leaf from them. I have to explore all they have to offer. For Wifi you have to be a Member which is acceptable. Otherwise you have to pay to be one.

Hello I am a student at Cerrittos College and I have heard pretty nice things about this library in the city of Cerritos. Today was my 1st time coming to this library and i was suprised. This library is big, beautiful and it is very cool to be at, especially right now in the summer. I truly recommened that you come and visit this beautiful library. You won`t regret it! :)

I came from Beverly Hills Library into Buena Park, saw Cerritos Library as big, well equipped as one in B.Hills, but good things stop there. The clerks were extremely rude & gave me such a hard time getting library card for a non-resident even if I was willing to pay $100 from beginning. Had to go there 5 times to get the card paying $100 which I never did in my whole life. During 1 year, I have found no usefulness with their books since I'm basically high-tech researcher, only time I tried to borrow book is one by Dr.Johanna Budwig, which they din't carry. I winded up going Starbucks where I could enjoy my teas, snacks & wifi all year. This year, they changed policy to charge for wifi $5/day for non-residents. I saw no point renewing my library card nor paying $5/day since I can buy teas & enjoy wifi in every Starbucks with less than $5. Why such a community Library has to be so GREEDY with money toward non-resident? Is such a discrimination fair? Don't Cerritos residents get any benefits from neighboring towns such as Buena Park ? All neighboring towns should employ such discriminatory policy against Cerritos residents.
