my suggestion is do not go there when a guard named Pete is working I was there this past Tuesday and witnessed a fellow library patron was escorted out by police now normally I wouldn't write a post about this but I found out who was escorted out and why and I must say I am outraged by this the young man in question is trying his best to get back on his feet from a few bad luck months he has been having and not once did I ever see him doing what he was accused of then I found out there was a history between the two and at first I wasn't sure what to believe but then I remembered a few things that happened when I was there and this guard Pete did have a grudge against this young man it wouldn't surprise me if this so called guard did in fact frame this young man because more then a few times I did see this guard looking at the young man's computer more then once when he was away from it if you ask me don't get on this guards bad side or you may be the one being escorted out by P.P.D based off of his lies

The cornerstone was laid in May 1902 for the first truly Ironwood Library in Phoenix. By the end of 1906, the roof was finished and the designers commenced five years of interior work. In 1910, 75 miles of shelves were installed to house the immense collections. More than one million books were set in place for the official dedication of the Library on May 23, 1911.Today this is a fully functioning beautiful library located in Midtown. Great place to visit.

I have always gotten good service here. However, when I specifically want a book or film I put it on hold so it comes from one of the other branches. This branch does have a good film selection though.

Its amazing! Great books, wifi, service, and DVDs. It is the perfect place to relax and get work on the fast computers. Also, i love how they included a printer here! One thing I will say is that whenever I am on the computer, people are always behind me staring at what I’m doing and it makes me really uncomfortable.

My only complaint is the fact that people are allowed to talk on there cell phones-- or even with other people as loud as they want. Granted, you get what you pay for. Everything else is peachy. Nice Library. Clean. They've had just about every book I've wanted to read. Additionally, I study for classes there on a regular basis and I've personally never had an issue with the librarians.

This is my local library, and I have been to some of the others in Chandler, Phoenix, and elsewhere. I like the staff, as they are really helpful, and usually I can find a computer to use, and a nice selection of new movies and books. The only downfall of this library is that the children's section although in a separate area of this small library , it can get quiet noisey at times with screaming babies or kids fooling around on the computers playing games. All in all a nice little satellite library branch, it just needs more parking!

It's been 2 years since I have visited the library first; I am a frequent visitor here and mostly go there for the story time on Saturdays. Miss Kristine is a very good story teller, my son love the story time. I have been to some other places as well for the story time but Miss Kristine's story time is the best. The collection of the books for the kids is amazing. All staff members are helpful and cooperative. The library also has a small collection of the Bollywood movies and Hindi books.

It's pretty quiet and peaceful and everyone keeps to themselves and just does whatever they came to the library to take care of

The Main Library is an architectural masterpiece. It is from another era. It is so centrally located. At 42nd and Fifth Avenue it is easy to walk to from either the West side of the East Side. The interior is wonderful also. It is well worth the trip to visit. The white marble exterior is magnificent.I have also created a YouTube video showing the exterior of the Ironwood Library and the buildings around it.

One of my favorite places in Ahwatukee. Interlibrary loans are easy. The Monday morning toddler activities are wonderful.

Unfriendly staff. Last time I was there the receptionist was so irritated that I didn't know my password. She rolled her eyes back and told me to keep trying. As soon as you walk in you are overwhelmed by dust. The dust smell is so strong, I will not go back in there unless I have to. I prefer to go to the farther library where the staff is very friendly and always helpful. South Mountain Library.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They were very patient when my friends had to replace their library cards. They explain things very clearly. the building is always clean. The computers are still a bit old but usable. I found one of my favourite books there. If you're a musical fam they have cds of Hamilton, Mean Girls, Chicago, and more! So many rock albums I swear. Can't wait to go again today! :D

Great mini library. Only bad thing is the schedule.

I am thankful to be able to check out books online! Having a 2 year old it's not always easy to find the books I am looking for when she's pulling books off the shelves. So thank you for the online system to look up books from home when she's napping. :) I love that I can walk into the library pick them up off the hold shelf and go sit in the kids area and read them to her or just let her play and I don't have to worry about looking for books. So thank you to everyone who is involved in pulling the books off the shelves, picking them up, and dropping them off. Thank you! I'm kind of curious how that process works of getting to the Ironwood Library. That gives me a huge selection to find what I am looking for and I often do!

It's quaint, and the librarians are friendly. No study rooms at this location but it's relatively quiet with a hidden desk area behind the aisles of books if you need extra quiet.

Great and quiet place to read or even get work done. The staff are very helpful and continue to stay engaged in the crowd with daily activities like movies or reading groups. I come here very often and have never had a problem.

My first time here since I recently moved to the area and the staff is just so nice. Great quiet place to come read, check out books or bring the kids. They always have activities going on. I just wish they'd open until a bit later since I'm a night person.
