Great place but you guys should install minecraft very fun game for teen!!! Definatly a 5 star if there was minecraft!!
Great library and very good movie rentals
I love it here! I personally consider this the best place to do my homework. They have great resources, plenty of computers, great Wifi, great assistance, awesome work spaces, a charging station, a large variation of movies, and the list goes on!
Great library, the people are very helpful
I love this library, but some of that is nostalgia. It's a huge and interesting library. My one complaint is that they used to do more events back in the day, I wish that they would start that up again. EDIT: they have been getting some grant money lately and really been doing some great programs with it.
This library is beautiful and it has PEACOCKS!! The peacock's are a very beautiful blue! The library has computers for public to use and a very wide selection of books. Its easy to find right off of 59th Ave! Very big parking lot and at the front of it they have a beautiful garden you can walk through!
Great library with many resources, many Peacocks in the area. Large historic park located directly next door. Everyone one should visit.
We love it
Very nice library
Fantastic working environment. I love the eclectic architecture of this place.
This is a good sized library that offers much more than books. The day we visited, there was also a program about music in their auditorium. The grounds are lovely and these peacocks just wander seemingly unconcerned about the public coming and going. It is a pleasant addition to our main library.
We are so disappointed with the Main branch right now. They have moved the Teen section to be included in the adult section of the library. This provides several issues for families of children. 1. The Teen section is no longer within eye-sight of administration. 2. For parents that have both young and teen children - we can not go with young children while Teens stay in their section and feel safe. 3. It invited and encouraged Teens to enjoy the library. 4. Parents of Teens (especially daughters) now have to follow their Teens around their section of the library to ensure their safety. In the Teen Room a parent could stand at the door, browse the center of the library, and even have a seat within the Teen room. 5. They had computers set up just for Teens within their own section. 6. It excited the younger kids that when they got older they too would get to go into the Teens Only Room of the library. I have wrote a complaint to the Library, and I hope the move is very temporary. We really need a Teens only section. Please bring it back.
a glorious library
Thank you so much to the lady with medium length black hair that gave me water when I couldn't go in the library because I had my dogs with me. It's the little things in life❤ Great library too!
I love Glendale library! it is very beautiful and animal friendly
I always have a great time at this library. The library is clean and equipped with many selections. The staff is incredible, always ready to help with a polite attitude. Also the female security guard is very kind.
Small but staff is friendly and facility is clean.
Short, african american female whom claims to be the director of this library called the cops on me and threatened to have the police chase me if i left... all because i was too close to the peacocks.
The library has some great garden spaces with sculptures and statues. It's great just to walk around. There is easy access to the park. Library staff are always very helpful.
Our favorite public library by far! We have been taking our high school and middle school children there for story-time since they were toddlers. Right away when you get out of the car and you hear and see the numerous peacock families wandering around and calling to each other from the nearby Rose Garden, you know the place is special It is beyond large and has so many selections for each age group, plus there is constantly something scheduled and going on for everyone--its calendar of activities are always full! We go to the other libraries too, but this one will always be our home!
I love this library! My kids grew up reading books from here and we spent many hours watching the peacocks and walking through the gardens. Placing this library next to Sahuaro Park was a brilliant move by the City of Glendale.
I love this library, but they won't resolve an issue and have sent me to collections for $80.00. I returned books in their drop box and they claim they did not receive them. Frustrating to say the least.
Good library
TERRIBLE computers and internet service as well as poor shelving system for a very large, but mediocre quality DVD collection. It's ok in a pinch, but 6 days of the week and twice on Sunday, I'd suggest going to Surprise for a real library experience.
This library is awesome there isn't a time where I went there and found nothing to read.the way you drop off your books is so convenient and the way the books are set up makes it so easy to find booksand the peacocks just make it even better, and it's so quiet and peaceful:)
The hours here are HORRIBLE
It's closed on Fridays which is not ok. I could understand being closed on Sunday or even Saturday but being closed on a weekday is unacceptable
Good I had a science project and I found everything I needed
The best library in the town.
Its a great place to have piece and quiet well manageed the stsff is awesome there to help when needed i would tell anyone to go here
You guys rock thank you for all your hard work
This library branch just opens in a limited hours of a day, 5- 8hours on weekdays. Even the weekend schedule is more limited. The opening hours is unreasonable. Is that the library has insufficient budget to extend opening hours?
The rental times are dumb but nice place
Favorite place
Great place, awesome kids area! Highly recommended ; )
Great library, but not just a library! Lots of great meeting areas, great resources for job hunting, well kept facility and very helpful, friendly and pleasant staff! Great artwork on display, how many places can boast a mural, actually painted on the lobby wall by famous aerospace artist Robert McCall?! I've been coming to the main branch for sometime now, (feels like home) and spent many hours at a time doing job research and I can't recommend a better place in the valley to get some work done. Oh and don't forget the outside with the desert plants and landscape exhibits (very informative and just a nice area to kick back) and the wildlife that inhabit the grounds (huge flock of Peacocks, rabbits, chickens, etc.) that come over from Saguaro Ranch Park next door. If you come by please be careful driving through the parking lot, the Peacocks kind of think they run the place, lol!
Went in here to get a library card, women was very helpful and very quick! I got a library card to download e-books from their website!
Not as good as Phoenix public librarys. Most painful part is fines on overdue items (dvds) $1 a day for used hardly working dvds. Same fees as redbox. For forgetting to renew 5/6 dvds for 4/5 days, fine is $30.00. I have borrowed more stuff from phoenix public library and forgot sometimes to renew on time but never paid so much of fine. Its just feels like its not for public.....too hurtful. ...just got to give up, going to this library.
It's amazing! I've gone there and getting a library card is fast and easy. And the manga and Anime they have is awesome. Great assistance too
No family restrooms. Little or no A/C. Loud. Good kids book selection. Lots of computers with kids playing games. They won't do much for you unless you live in Glendale. A little landscape exhibit outside.
What an amazing place! Statue's and art throughout. Plus a teen section and a toddler area. Plus they have a back area with peacocks!! Yes, peacocks. You can take pictures with them and hunt for feathers. Computer section and friendly staff. Plus, they always have events going on for all ages. They even have puppet shows for the little ones! Great place to spend time. Quiet reading section. The only thing missing is a StarBucks inside. Then you can stay all day :)
Very nice library! They have a nice park next door.
The staff is very friendly and helped out tremendously. The way they have things set up is convenient and easily accessible. Easy checkout that my 3 year old can help checkout his own books and he can return his books too so he feels acomplished.
Worse library. Don't go here. We got kicked out before closing time. Spent 30 minutes trying to print something. When asked the lady to help she said she would find someone then never came back. Wouldn't even talk to us after. Someone else said that they were closed. They hadn't closed yet! Never returning here again!
We love this library! We even love the parking lot with the Desert Garden and the peacocks roaming around freely. The staff are friendly and helpful. I needed help printing some documents and the gentleman that helped was more than happy to do so. The selection is great! Lots of movies to choose from, and my daughter loves the children's area. I do wish there was a sign near the entrance to warn drivers of the peacocks :( I watched a lady pull in very fast yesterday and she almost hit a peacock grazing near the garden. Please be careful when you pull in!
My daughter was borrowing some tapes to watch
Great, minus the lack of respect for public property. Don’t be this guy. Keep your shoes on, sit on a chair, and don’t use the shelves as a foot rest. This is a library, not your home.
Forgot my library card at check out. When the library called to inform me, they assured me they had renewed the videos that were due that day, since I did not have access without my card. Reassured me twice. Guess what? They didn't. Cost: $8.00
In the teen's zone, there were kids like 4 or 5 years old in there screaming but it still a good library
The library is amazing and has an great location. The staff are very nice. The have a huge assortment of books.
Very nice library. Lots of good books and movies to choose from. Lots of parking spaces and the building is very nice. The peacocks that roam around the outside of the building and the cactus gardens make a good added touch to the place.

My childhood library is still amazing and a favorite place of mine to get books for myself or my students ❤❤ Friendly, tons of space and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers
Nice library. Good selection of books.
This library is fun, very spread out and explanatory as to what is where, and the children's area is absolutely amazing. I take my child here to learn the great things about books and how much stories can mean. There are also incredible events and activities that keep her engaged and intrigued and make every trip worth the while. I find great books for myself here too!
I was floored at this library very very nice I'm from Chicago I've never seen a library this nice although I wish they had more braole books for kids
Esta chido este lugar es muy interesante
awesome library and great staff
Great place my Lil family plus my sister in law went here very very nice place thinking of taken my daughter here today
Super noisy for a library. It has gotten the job done for me, but I wish the noise level was lower. There were 3 women playing uno for crying out loud at the table behind me, and 2 women talking very loudly right in front of me the ENTIRE time I was studying. There should be designated places for games or discussion, and not in the actual library itself.
Love this Library always something to do. However this Library and its branches could organize its DVD collection better, by seperating it's Anime from the main stream, and its regular from its Blue Ray.
It is really quiet and the people there are respectful. The library has a beautiful look to it and peacocks roam around the outside part of the library.
everyone is friendly, clean, and found the books we needed
Love the main library. So much for my granddaughter to do.
This location offers many small classes & events. For families from story time to gardening to music. The historic ranch buildings next door & park make this a good stop any day of the week to spend hours exploring with visiting family, young & old. Good place to connect with folks in your community. WE LOVE GLENDALE LIBRARY!
Good place to study if your 12-18, one security personnel is strict about rules... Can't sit on the floor it's a fire Hazard, can't sit in the quiet corner of the library because it's only for 12-18 year old... There are tables but at the time, the ones with the power outlet were all taken. I love coming to this library to study and use the WiFi... But with this one particular security personal, she just made me feel very un-welcomed.
Always helpful and friendly
Institution dedicated to a warm, clean, & friendly environment. Helpful, easy to use, & organize. Great library to enjoy quiet & relaxing time to myself. Highly Recommend!
Glendale Public Library is one of the best libraries in Arizona. From the friendly staff, to the outstanding programming, to all the things that they do for kids, they are the gold standard for libraries in our part of the valley. if you have a chance to visit Glendale Public you totally should. They have everything there from books, to DVDs and Blu-rays, video games, and even culture passes which let you go free to many attractions in the Valley of the Sun. I fully endorse the Glendale Public Library has a great place to spend a couple of hours, especially if you have children or teens.
Best experience ever at a library, demi the computer worker from Egypt is awesome, went out of her way to make sure I understood how to print, scan, and accurately got work done, it had been a while since I worked on a computer, thank you
We love this library! Great selection, and the kids get excited everytime we go! They have lots of good programs for kids.
Always wonderful service! A great variety of DVD's. Love the beautiful peacocks walking freely on the landscape!
Went here last week with my patient who is blind. They were very helpful in finding good books on tape. Look forward to our next trip.
Great place, love seeing the area, love getting books
Wonderful library. The atmosphere is great. Although twice on a Saturday I get there and the computers were down. Easily connected to WiFi and was able to complete what was needed, unfortunately for others they left upset.
Good
I returned a book, they didn't log the return in their system until months later, and then over a year later they charged me a late fee (for their own incompetence) that they claim they can't possibly wave. Unbelievable.
Great place to make some connects and collect some stalkers. If youre team Mystic we can hang, and if youre Valour we can be cool. Team Yellow can suck it =^-^= JK... One guys name was "1pink2instinct" and on that alone all yellows recieve a pass ;)
Nice library they support our troops
This is the library closest to our house. I like it better the the one downtown. Just moving here from Texas, the system of finding a book seems so different. I can never locate anything I want, seems I always have to ask for help. The children section doesn't seem to have very friendly people. They just seem to be tacking away on there computers, most of the time and not even looking up to greet. I was looking for two particular books, for my classroom and ask the red haired lady, that did not seem like she wanted to help, the way she was pointing instead of actually showing me. I just stopped going back there with my son. I pick what we can read together and we read at home or go to the Big Library in Phoenix. One apple spoiles the whole bunch.
GETTING MOVIES AND BOOKS AND VOLUNTEERING
Great place for studying. I just want to ask one question why do you guys turn open the library every day about 10 AM? A lot of time I want to go to library and I checked it is closed. It is not open enough.
I'm a satisfied customer of this library as well. Outside it a great property with a quiet citrus grove on one side and xeriscape gardens on two others. The is plenty of parking and some of it is shaded. Love the gardens with the peacocks roaming freely and accustomed to guests, who respect them. Also nearby is Saguaro Ranch Park. Inside, the building has clean lines and is divided neatly into sections for various users; their ages and interests, with a good youth section, and helpful librarians in each area. Plus several cozy reading nooks and desk areas with computer connections. WiFi is free. This is the Main Library but it is connected to the two other Glendale branches, so their materials are accessible also. Hours: Vary by branch and they are closed on Fridays. One needs to be a Glendale Resident to use these facilities. Restrooms are nice.
The director (Stephanie small) called the police on my 16 year old daughter and her friend because her friend tried to touch a Peacock in the parking lot. And said they were trying to hurt it. Which is a complete lie. And when I spoke to her she is completely out of her mind. My child is a straight a student that goes to the library for fun and now she is banned because her friend tried to touch a peacock.
It's a very nice place and all but the water fountains are killing me. If they're going to have water fountains they might as well have the water go up more , I can barely get any water from it and besides that it taste nasty. Every single time I come here it's the same thing, what do they even have water fountains for? I'm broke and have no money to be buying water bottles and when I do have money their soda machine is always out of order. I hope they can fix the water fountains soon because I come here a lot and I don't always have money to be buying water bottles. I don't want anyone to come at me saying "why don't you just bring your own water bottle", helloooo!! I don't have the resources to be having money like that, I barely have any water at home, smh.
Great staff and amazing place, very calm and I always find a place to work. I wish they would be open earlier.
