The cove has the best seafood tacos! One shrimp and one fish taco with there silly little spinach salad with a great dressing just seals the deal for me! My husband enjoys the angus burger with delicious sweet potatoes fries! Nothing bad to say about this place people are nice, atmosphere is nice! And pet friendly! Yummy

Great atmosphere with seating inside where a live band is playing every night, and if you have a dog wonderful lighted outside seating area where your furry friends can play while you try the fish tacos. YUM

I don't understand why everything on the menu had to have something extremely spicy in it. Got a fish taco expecting your typical fish taco and, it was so spicy that it was not enjoyable at all. I did like their outside open area though for the kids. And the atmosphere as well. But the food was not the best. We got BBQ veggie burger, the nachos and the fish tacos. And between us all, none of us enjoyed the food due to the spiciness on the burger and the fish tacos. And the price on the nachos was insanely high. However, all that aside, their service was really great and the playground/outdoor atmosphere was enjoyable as well thus why they get three stars.

This place is awesome. Laundry, car wash, great food and tons of beer! Would recommend the bison burger for mouth watering goodness. There outdoor space is great for groups! (Only down side is the flies outside. They are everywhere as soon as you get food. But if you ask they can get you a coaster or a lid for your drink. A+ service.)

Great experience overall. The sweet potato fries were amazing not too squishy that can happen to the fries but these are great. I got the egg burger and bacon and The burger was very flavorful definitely filling I would highly recommend. there was lots of seating outside little colder days and most people were inside but still plenty of seating. Service was very fast. I would recommend and will definitely make it back.

A gem within San Antonio!!! A great burger and a great location. It is a very relaxed atmosphere but it still maintains excellent service. The burgers are fantastic and the beer selection is large and varied. It has a large playground outside so it is very kid, family, and pet friendly. It's only down side is despite the kid friendly atmosphere they allow smoking in the same space as the kids. This would cause me to never bring my children here. Also, the parking is terrible. If those aren't game breakers this is a fantastic restaurant.

This place had yet to let me down on food. I'd post a pic but it's gone before I can even remember to take one. I love the laid back atmosphere & the chill music they usually have. The only thing I feel would make this place perfect is a couple TVs outside to watch spurs games or a good hockey game.

I have been back here for the lamb burger, awesome local ingredients, and friends (as there is no other spot in SA that offers this much veg variety). Draft beer selection was good. Sweet potato fries and ginger ale are to die for. Other than that it's good hangout spot when it's not burning out here in SA.

We went to The Cove for an early dinner. And I couldn’t have been pleased with my whole experience there. Ordered the Naked Burger, which was cooked perfectly, an order of sweet potato fries, and we had the Hummus app to begin. Everything tasted delicious. I love that their food is locally sourced! Their staff was also very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Live music, good drinks, great times with family and friends, and great food.

Went for lunch on Saturday. Not too busy. Fast service, clean play area, well mannered dogs. Food great. Love the sweet potato fries, hibiscus tea. Spent 2 hours outside visiting with friends. Good breeze and fans a blowing. Didn't know where everyone parks.

Really surprised at how good the food was here. A local friend recommended the place while we were staying in San Antonio visiting from Phoenix and I wasn't feeling super hungry so I ordered two fish tacos. The tacos sounded a little weird with interesting sounding healthy type ingredients. They turned out really great though. The taste was not compromised and tasted all fresh and light, the fish was grilled and not battered like I am normally used to. My wife got a standard cheeseburger and it came with a whole grain bun and looked like it might not taste super great but I tried some of it and it was juicy and tasty. I'd come back again if I'm out in San Antonio again. Good and healthy feeling food.

Good stuff. I got their BBQ vegan burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Wife got their shrimp tacos. They're known for their fish tacos which I've had before and are very good. Cool atmosphere. Outdoor setting and playground. Large beer selection. I'll be honest though I think $4.50 is a little high to be charging for one taco, I don't care how proud you are of it. Still, this is a neat place to go to, good for hangout.

We hadn't been here in a long while. Went ladt Sunday for a friend's retirement party. She had the Texas Bar area reserved for the party. It was a nice area but it was a sunny, roasting day to be outside. I wasn't hungry at the time so I tried the blood orange cider which was a good recommendation. My husband had the seafood sampler which 1 shrimp taco, 1 fish taco and spinach salad. He gives it 4 stars. Another friend ordered the lamb burger. Though it was good, he felt the portion small for what he was paying. It's claim to fame is having been featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dive. The outdoor area is good for folks who want to bring their dog.

The food is exceptional, and the atmosphere is amazing. So nice to have a playground for the kids to occupy them. I love that they source their food locally and the meat is grass fed. The sweet potato fries with the spicy mayo are unbeatable, and the burger is fresh and cooked to perfection. 4 stars because the handful of times we've gone, the employees have always been a bit cold and as if they couldn't be bothered. For the price point, they should definitely be friendlier.

So freaking delicious!!! The Gouda burger is to die for and the sweet potato fries are some of the best I have ever had. That have a good ration of crunchy to potatoe, I lick other fries that are just crunchy with out any potatoe in the center. Also the spicy mayo is really good.

What a great place to visit! My family came here after visiting the Museum of Art downtown and had heard the Cove was a good spot for the kids (something for the adults and something for them). The suggestion was spot on! The Cove really does show it understands parents- the outdoors tables are all circled around the playground and the area is mostly enclosed with a fence to stop a wayward 4 year old. The food wasn't bad either- hamburgers and fish tacos were good, but not quite great. The patty was well cooked, but the bun was slightly soggy. So why not 5 stars? Price. I guess if there are three things to look for in a kid-friendly restaurant (playground, food, price), then The Cove has clearly selected the first two to focus on. For 2 hamburgers, one order of fish tacos, and 2 sodas it was over $40! That's not to say it wasn't a great way to cap an afternoon out with the family, but not somewhere we will be going to frequently.

The food is really good here and pretty unique, like buffalo burgers and lamb patties. The cost is a little much, about $13 bucks just for the buffalo burger. The atmosphere is great, its mostly out doors, but they have fans and misters, so its survival in this heat. The parking can get really bad, but it seems to constantly shift, so just wait a minute and spots open. Overall, very much recommend it.

An unequivocal necessity for anyone in, around, or passing through San Antonio to attend. From the organic sodas to the eclectic burger choices, from live music to great beers on tap, The Cove offers something for everyone. The seating is mostly outdoor, with only the bar inside, but still open to the air. The chill aesthetic permeates the experience, with small play structures for kids, and (leashed) dogs gently roaming. I’ll come back here, again and again, whenever I have even a day or two in SA.

I really enjoyed it! I got the buffalo bacon burger, and subbed goat cheese for the blue cheese, it was excellent! My husband got the vegan bacon burger, as he's a vegetarian, and he didn't like the burger patty itself. He also felt his fries were undersalted. That said, my kids loved their cheeseburgers, I thought the fries were excellent, and I loved the sodas they had, as well as the atmosphere. They have a cute little playground right next to the eating areas, which my kids loved. The eating areas are outside, so if you go when it's hot, expect to be hot. The lines were fairly long for a Wednesday lunch, but we only waited maybe 15 minutes to order. The actual serving took a bit, maybe 30 minutes, but I expected that as there were a fair bit of people here, and we ordered 4 things. I would definitely go back, but I didn't mark it 5* because my husband really hated their vegan burger patty. (Although he ate all of it, so who knows.)

Amazing burgers. Although a bit pricey, it is justified due to the use of organic, non-GMO products. Their portion sizes are perfect. Food is good, but it's over priced. 3 burgers without fries $30 plus. Bar staff are a bit condescending although the managers are very nice and the front counter staff were too. I came for my dogs but I wasn't given a good reason to come back. Parking is difficult as well, but hey it's in a laundromat and car wash. There is extra parking around back also.

What a great place. It is good for families, children, individuals or couples. This facility has it all. Even though it was chilly there were many many warm heaters above. It reminded me of being somewhere in Europe where families get together with children and talk and drink and share time together. Their beer selection is fantastic. My wife enjoyed the wine. To top it off they had live music which was very good. In addition, it is vegan/vegetarian friendly as well as having many meat dishes. This is not a fancy place – just a place to go and relax and have a nice afternoon/evening.

First time out burger was barely warm, patty had inconsistency temperatures and the yolk for my fried egg wasn't runny just cold. Had them remake my burger and came out better 2nd time around, fries and drinks were better than the main course. Plenty of space for the kiddos to run around and play.

We held a client event at the Cove on a Saturday evening and the weather could not have been more perfect. You can reserve tables near the playground, along the bar, the fireplace and an indoor setting for a reasonable price. We also tried their catering and everything came out fresh and hot. The tomato cream cheese dip was amazing!! Fish tacos were a hit and yummy fries! Ashley and Addie were great to work with and met all of our needs during our event. This is one of the best family friendly spots in San Antonio.

Phenomenal food, excellent service, and everything it sells is sourced within Texas if that's important to you. Will tell you list of sources if asked. Outdoor seating only, but has misters and fans to accommodate. Playground on site, which is centrally located to the seating. Also has two bars, both of which are in sight of the playground. Is co-located with a laundromat and carwash, just in case you needed to wash something while you ate. Great community.

A playground surrounded by a restaurant and two bars? Was worried but eve with kids and grands was great! Even listened to a huge ( like 13 piece!) Jazz band too!! A real gem; I shouldn't be posting this ;)

Major flaw right from the start "parking" They have a few small lots for parking and on the street. The locals know where you can park when there is no parking nearby, but confusing for a tourist. Food is a little pricey ex. $10 for a burger, not including fries or a drink, so at that price im better going off to the Whataburger across the street, and get a full Double meat combo for $9. The food is ok , not bad, but not good enough to be bragging to your friends. I do like the entire outdoor concept they have a large shaded area, playground in the middle, Large tap bar out back, and an indoor area with live music. They are also very pet friendly. Maybe a little too hipster for my taste, but this place is perfect for those date nights, as the kids can play and you can focus on your date. The only reason I would even consider trying this place again, would be to go and try out the tap bar n the back. As they do have a large selection on draft.

The food is simply the best! They have so many clean options here. There's also an outdoor playground for the kids. Indoor and outdoor seating and live music. Great staff, especially Addie, she's a spectacular manager.

Great, fun spot! Even with the crowd, there seemed to be enough open tables to go around. Burgers and half-sweet potato, half regular fries basket were amazing. Only complaint is parking and I wish the playground for kiddos was larger!

Unique find for any city. Personal service and relaxed atmosphere. I had a burger and it was cooked perfectly and everything is organic and I’m told that makes it better? So, I felt better eating every bit of it. My bartender was very cool , he was Jay. They also have regular tastings and where else can you find that?

I could eat the Egg-ceptional Burger every day. It's the best burger I've had in San Antonio. Great fries here, too! There's plenty of seating space both indoors and outside at the Cove and they have a wide selection of Texas craft beers to choose from. It would be nice if there was more parking but I've never had trouble finding a spot on the street if the lot was full. Great place to bring your family as well since they have a playground for the kids.

First time going. We chose to sit out on a patio area. Started out in the sun but moved to a shared area when a table became available. I had a shrimp taco and a fish taco. Each came in a blue corn tortilla that fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Sure could have used a fork. The coleslaw was tasty with just the right amount of dressing. The fish taco I've had better. The shrimp was good. Tried to get a rita. They only serve lots of different beers and wine and drinks made with wine. There was a list of tasty sounding teas but stuck with water. A live band was playing as we left.

The cove is great, such a cool little spot with great eats. The burgers are awesome as well as their sweet potato fries. Bring the pets and kids because all are welcome.

The food is great! I had their Texan burger which was fantastic and hit all the right spots. The beer selection is well rounded and usually local. It's such a great spot to bring your friends. But, it's also a great spot to bring your kids. There's a play area that is well maintained and easily viewed by most of the dining areas. And they are dog friendly, too!

The restaurant was different than most. Definitely not what I expected! Parking in front, if that's full and it probably will be, go around to the back, ample parking there. If that's full you can park on the street. Gravel parking lot, but easy enough to maneuver, Two large tables inside, a stage and the bar. You order your food get a number, your drinks are in the dining area, just help yourself when you need more. They have lots of workers cleaning the tables, if the dining room is full they have a huge seating area outside. Bringing the kids? No problem they have a large play area. You can sit and visit and keep your eyes on your kids. Waitress brings your food when it's ready. By the way the food is fantastic! Really Really good! Restaurant was clean, restroom was clean but a little small, no big issue, parking lot was clean also. They keep the drink area clean. A band played while we were there, they were good also! Must do, but go into it with the right attitude! Not your typical restaurant, but a very enjoyable experience!

The location is very cool. Lots of great outaide seating so it is very dog friendly. There is also a big playground for kids. The food was excellent and they have a large and interesting craft beer location. Great place to have a meal and hang out with friends.

Had the Hummus, Beet Salad, and Sweet Potato Fires with a homemade Ginger Ale. The fries were the best of the lot. Decent selection of craft beer for Texas. Inside eating area has that musty spilled beer smell to it.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Not to busy. Sat outside very pleasant between the breeze and the fans. Food was delicious. Area for kids to play and you can bring your well mannered dog(on leash).

I went there because it came up as a healthy food option during a search. The spinach, kale, avocado salad and fish taco were good. I'd go back for those. The 3 star rating is for the restroom facilities. Was like being at a camping grounds with indoor rest facility. I would urge them to put some resources into facility upgrades.

It's okay. Went for the burger and found it good. I could try them all, but it wouldn't change my opinion. Better than McDonald's, sure, but the whataburger down the block has better specialty burgers for less. The live music was a welcome accompaniment that makes this place special. Go for the music and the fish / shrimp tacos. That's what makes them delicious enough to go back.

The Cove is my happy place. The food is amazing - my favorite burger is the Gouda burger. The egg-ceptional burger is also pretty exceptional when I’m especially hungry. They have a great selection of beer - both draft and bottled. The best part is the playground. It’s great for kids of all ages. My almost-two-year old has as much fun on the playground as the older kids. He can easily and safely climb, play, and slide on the structure. When we’ve had an particularly long day or my toddler gets restless, we usually head to The Cove. Kiddo gets to run around his heart’s content and expend his energy, and we parents get to sit next to the playground and enjoy a beer, good food and nice adult conversation while watching our kid have a blast. My kiddo loves the kids cheeseburger and fries. Plus they have free kids meal with purchase of an adult burger on Tuesdays! Note: the place gets really busy on nice Friday/Saturday evenings. The line to order food gets really long during these periods, but they do a surprisingly good job of keeping the line moving fairly quickly. Still expect to wait in line 15-20 minutes during these periods. Also parking can be a challenge during busy periods. They do have people to direct you to alternate parking spots when their lot is full, which is helpful.

The Cove is not cheap. But it is very good. You can't expect to pay McDonald's prices for localvore organic food. In theory the entrees are in the $10 to $13 range, but that doesn't include fries or drink, so it's going to be around $20 per person including taxes and tip. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, kid friendly, pet friendly, mostly outdoor seating but covered so the sun doesn't blast you. There is indoor seating, but only if you want your ears to bleed from the high volume live music. They have vegetarian and vegan options in addition to the omnivore options, the vegan menu is a touch limited but the vegetarian menu is pretty varied. It's localvore as much as it can be, since we don't exactly grow a lot of food in and around San Antonio. Their greens come from their own garden, and just about everything else came from places in Texas. I had a bison blue cheese burger that was excellent, the sharpness of the blue cheese helped balance the gamy flavor of the bison. But I should have gone for the spinach, mushroom, onion, Gouda quesadilla my mother got, of the stuff my kid, my partner, my mother, and I got the vegetarian quesadilla was the unquestioned best thing on the table. The sweet potato fries also deserve a special mention, they didn't coat them in sugar like some places do which is always a plus, and they were just plain good. They pay their employees pretty well too, which is definitely a good thing since so many restaurants don't. TL;DR Go to the Cove if you can afford $20 a person, it's worth it.

Great place for the whole family. Outdoor setting is very pleasant but it was too hot to sit outside when we came. There is a playground for kids, a bar for adults, and tons of covered sitting. The indoor part is also very eclectic, and has another bar. The only thing that is a little confusing is that you have to order your food in another attached building, take your number, then they find you wherever you are in that huge place. The food choices are healthy and great but the final product itself is mediocre and bland.

Very good burgers, just make sure you tell them how you want it cooked as mine was a little over done. The prices are good. They could use some misting fans as the outside seating is to hot during the summer days.

Large outdoor patio with playground for kids. Most patio covered. Outside bar (huge draft beer option). Order inside. Mostly burgers though there is fish tacos and salads and vegan options. I've been twice. The original menu was more vegan. I ordered a "Real" burger. Very good but not cheap. French fries are really good! The second time I went (Friday evening) they had live music. It was a cold day but they had outdoor heaters so we were confortable. Casual place and good for large groups (small groups too). I recommend!

My female friend amd I went there on a Thursday evening to hear some live music. We were accosted inside the club by a young male who sat at our table across from us and tried to start a conversation., repeatedly. We went outside to a table to talk for about a half hour. He came up to us again at our table. He finally left us and we didn't see him again until about 45 minutes later when we left the Cove. At that point he was outside the club and followed us to our car (around 11:00 pm) and tried to talk to us again . Where was any security? There was none! I would never recommend any female to go to this place alone or even with another female companion. They do not care about the safety of their female patrons! Despicable! These kind of predators use places like this and the lack of security emboldens them!

The gluten free mushroom Swiss burger and fries were delish. I normally wouldn't spend $15 on a burger but mixed with the atmosphere I would definitely come back every once in a while.
