Came to Medlin-Davis in Cameron Village for wedding gown cleaning and preservation. My experience started off the bat with a sour note that should have warned me not to give them my business. I came in on a weekend to drop off my gown and was told that since the manager in charge of wedding gown services was not at the store they could not take the dress then. I had to come back on a week day when the manager was in. I was frustrated because no where on the website is this mentioned, so I could not plan accordingly and save myself the wasted gas money. When I came back to drop my dress off, they were made aware that my dress had silk in it and was told that the cleaning process would take longer because of it, therefore my dress would be ready in a month. No problem. Then throughout the month wait, I received multiple emails and automated phone calls from the store saying that my dress was ready for pick up. Everytime, I had to call the store to confirm, where I was met with confusion and ignorance as to whether it was actually done or not. I would be referred to the gown manager, who never returned phone calls or voice mails as to the status of my dress. When my original date of pickup came and went, I started calling the store to ask if my dress was done or not. Once again, it wasn't and I got the excuse that the silk was making the process take longer (even though they knew this at the very beginning) and I should get in touch with the manager...no response. Finally, 16 days after the original date my dress was done. Went to the store to pick up and pay and as I was handed the garment bag that my gown came in I noticed that it was heavy as if something was in it, which there shouldn't be. So I opened up the bag in the store and low and behold the train to my gown was in a ball at the bottom of the bag. So this meant my train had been overlooked somehow, not been cleaned and attached to my dress in the preservation box and more importantly, a part of my very expensive dress had been sitting, wadded up, in the bottom of a garment bag at their store for over a month and a half! I told the front desk as to why this had been overlooked, once again I was met with the "no clue attitude" (clearly no one at the store has any knowledge of how the wedding gown services work besides the manager, who is never there either!!!!) I was then told that it will be taken care of and the manager will call me about it. The manager did surprisingly contact me to apologize and that my dress would be ready by the end of the week. Came back a week later to pick up and was finally done with the place. All-in-all, I was very disappointed with the gown cleaning and preservation service at Medlin-Davis due to their lack of communication, knowledge, and attention to detail. I would NOT recommend any to them for gown services.

This is probably the worst overall service I have experienced. I dropped off 4 dresses last Tuesday (9/25) and requested dry cleaning Thursday for their monthly special. The girl who took my information had me fill out a form and then confirmed my name (she spelled it out and everything) was in the system. When I went to pick up my dresses today (10/1), no one could find my dresses. Finally, they found out the girl put my dresses under some random guy named Mitch and had not scheduled my dresses to be cleaned. They had not started on any of my dresses and told me to come back in an hour. I came back and they still had trouble finding my dresses despite reiterating the issue from earlier. Finally, the guy came back with my dresses and told me they added a "30%" discount for the inconvenience. So essentially, he gave me the 30% discount I already had for the Thursday special. However, it seems like I was still charged full price ($42 for 4 dresses is a discount?). I assume this is why they don't list there prices anywhere, so they can rip people off. There is also dog hair still on my dresses, so this was completely a rushed sloppy job. Go to Ridgewood instead, so much more professional.

I've been going here for a few years, and I will never do so again. Their customer service is at a long-time low, and their high prices, which I thought were for extra care for expensive and delicate garments, are no longer worth it. They recently destroyed a non-replaceable shirt, mangling the zipper and saying it "fell apart in their hands" but then they said they didn't know what happen since "the tailor has his own business." So they don't even communicate with one another. They also told me "he fixed it" and it still won't zip, furthermore he replaced the zipper handle without asking me and now that handle that I really liked is gone. The woman at the counter was super rude and didn't care, they clearly don't care about clothing or customers. You're better off washing your clothes in your sink than risking anything with this business.

I just moved to the city and I got fooled by the 4.4 rating of this store. So here is my story, a week ago i dropped in two dresses that belong to my wife, they all had stains (some of them I understand are tough). 2 dresses, each had two pieces. They took one week to clean them, and when they finally finished, they only cleaned one piece out of each dress (basically both dresses are useless now) and charged me almost 60 dollars. Like seriously, 60 dollars for absolutely no value, and claim that other stores are doing it. This is like someone saying hey man, other people are stealing too deal with it!!..... seriously a rip off, I only posted this because i wish someone else had posted such a thing before.

Amazing staff and quality work. Had a suit dry cleaned and altered here. The tailor was willing to meet with me at 5 PM on a weekday (the tailor's normal hours are until 3 PM). They had my suit cleaned and altered in less than two days. Quality of work is exceptional. Would highly recommend this company for any dry cleaning, tailoring, repair, or alteration needs you may have.

Before my most recent visit there, my girlfriend accidentally washed my suit in the washer machine, but thankfully the people there were able to bring it back to practically new condition! This is the only place I will go for dry cleaning.

We brought our duvet cover to the Cameron Village location to have it cleaned. It came back clean but it's full of wrinkles. $37 dollars later (duvet covers don't meet the criteria for bedspread discount in the month of June) and we have to iron it ourselves. Pretty disappointed.

I had an appallingly bad experience here. First, I brought in 3 collared shirts and 2 jackets to be dry cleaned. The shirts were specifically to be dry cleaned (although the label allows laundering), because of delicate material. I confirmed that they would be dry cleaned and not laundered twice at the counter. Upon receiving the first batch of items, lo and behold, the shirts were laundered! When I pointed this out to the staff, they tried to lie to me and claimed that the items were dry cleaned. I pointed to the wear, and the fact that where the coats had a smell of cleaning chemicals but the shirts did not. Finally they admitted they were laundered, but wouldn't do anything about it. I asked to be refunded the cost of cleaning (not even the damage to the barely worn shirts, which now looked heavily worn at the collar). I spent almost 15 minutes insisting to speak to a manger, only to get "the manager is only here during weekdays 9-5, you can speak to her then." Eventually they were willing to call the manager and confirm the refund, and promised that the final shirt (which wasn't ready for pickup yet) would in fact be dry-cleaned. On pick up of the final item, it was *shocker* laundered. They'd also somehow managed to burn the collar so that it has oily, melted-looking spots. I told them I would not be back. Now, I think 1-star reviews should be reserved for the worst cases of service.. but this definitely fit the bill!

If I damage anything in the sweater, you staff will figure out. You staff check it very carefull before go to cleaning process.They know the label isn't there and they didn't find anything wrong at the top of the collor at the back before it washed. 2. As a customer, we don't need to understand the cleaning procedure.You make the hole, you take the responsility.Especially the hole during the cleaning procedure. It means you didn't treat the sweater with right delicate care. Each material is different. If you clean the sweater like the cotton pierce. For sure, you will damage the threads. Customer send the clothes to the cleaner instead of wash by theirselves.Because they want a better service.The material need special care. 3.If it happend LOTS TIMES before, it means your cleaning procedure is very rude! you didn't offer professonal care to the clothes.You are not qualify for the dry cleaner for a long time! 4.It is customer's right to take the label on or off. Does not matter which the customer chooes. It can't be a reason to blame the customer for the mistake during the your cleaning process. PLEASE HAVE A LOOK HOW BIG IS THE HOLE. ALTHOUGH IT IS SEWED! I've been going to this Cameron Village staple since I was a child and my mom wanted my dad to have crisp clean work shirts for years. Now 25 years later, I get to take my own husband's shirts there. I have always been pleased by the friendly service and well cleaned clothing. While these guys aren't the cheapest in town, they deliver consistent service and actually do the higher quality wet cleaning so I don't mind paying the extra money since I know it means my clothes will last longer. I had my wedding dress cleaned. It was my mother’s who bought it at a thrift store in 1990. It has been preserved ever since. However, there were a few small brown spots from the age and being preserved for so long. I dropped it off and it was ready in three weeks. I paid $230 and it came beautifully clean. It’s a whole different shade of white and none of the dress was damaged in the cleaning process. I highly recommend trusting Medlin-Davis with your precious fabrics.

Your communication to that effect was very appreciated. The only slight problem I had was that it was very busy when I picked up on Monday evening around 6pm. All of my sweaters except for one were hung on hangers after I specifically asked that they be folded due to me having a previous experience of misshapen sweaters from Medlin. What makes it worse is that tags were put on the sweaters that said ‘ON HANGER’. Once again I have misshapen sweaters. Not happy. I wish I could post a picture of one of my misshapen sweaters.

I have been going to this dry cleaner for two years, but I refuse to have my loyalty repaid in such a way. I recently had my wedding dress, veil, and other day of items preserved at this location, but only the dress came back in the preservation box. I have been in contact with them about adding my other items to the preservation box, and they basically refuse to correct the situation. I've given them the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to address my concerns to no avail. I would definitely not recommend going to this place for your dry cleaning needs.

Recently had boyfriend’s suit cleaned. It was available for pick up exactly when they said it would be and it looks great. However, it was a tad pricier than many other cleaners in the area. Truthfully, I think you’re paying partly for the convenience of the location in Cameron Village. As a whole, the service was great but the facilities could use a little updating. The inside almost looked a little dirty, which gave me initial skepticism. However. Staff was friendly and the did exactly what I needed them to.

HONEST REVIEW AND EXPERIENCE PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH MEDLIN-DAVIS (Spoiler: it was terrible service in multiple regards). My wife dropped off her mud covered wedding dress on December 3rd. We opted to go with Medlin-Davis despite their higher than average price because we were familiar with the name from their several locations. We were told that her dress would be ready for pick-up on December 24th at 5:00 PM (this was printed on our pick-up ticket). Because of the holiday, we didn’t go to pick up the dress until December 27th (they had 2 extra days if I exclude Christmas). When I got there they HAD NOT EVEN STARTED CLEANING IT YET. So it sat covered in mud for almost an entire month and then they didn’t have the courtesy to even call to say that it wouldn’t be ready on the stated pick-up date. They said it would be an additional two to three weeks (which was the original quoted time frame a month prior) before it would be ready but this time they said they would call... Roll over to January 14th we received a call saying the piece was ready to be picked up. Thinking that the business would at least acknowledge the extreme inconvenience I went through, let alone the risk of not having the dress cleaned promptly when it was covered in mud, I expected even a slight discount or even an apology at the very least. However, I was told “no, it’s still $257.” or something and the girl “helping” just stared at me, annoyed that I even had an opinion that they had delivered terrible customer service. She said if I wanted to speak with someone else about it I could come back the next day (still no consideration of my time). I emailed the business office stating my frustration but just like before it’s been radio silence so I feel it is my civic duty to WARN everyone about working with Medlin-Davis and perhaps you should consider a business that respects its customers and the garments they’re trusted to clean. They might eventually get back to me or comment back on this to try to defend their performance and the way I was treated on two different visits to the store, but as a customer that never writes bad reviews (I do write good reviews often on yelp and google though) I felt everyone should hear my experience that looked up this business.

We decided to try and find a new Green Dry Cleaner. So we switched to Medlin Davis in Cameron Village. We brought 13 items in. When we went to pickup they only had 11. They had no idea where the missing items. They confirmed someone would call me that day or next to tell me what was going on. They did not seem overly concerned. No one called me. So i called the story back and later that day someone called to say they found it. We were out of town, so when we came back into the store and they were lost again!! Beyond frustrating, inconvenient, and really bad customer service. To top it off this dry cleaner was triple the price to our old place!! We paid 88 dollars for 11 shirts!! ugh. Very disappointing in this customer service and will never go back once they ever find our missing shirts.

Way overpriced idiots. They sort their laundry into 'orders' instead of all at once, so picking up several 'orders' takes time. They also ,amaze to employ some of the worst customer servicer people in the industry. When you pay prices like this, the experience should be perfect. It wasn't for several months.

I had an unfortunate incident where one of my items got separated from the bunch and lost. The clerk at the Ridgewood Center location (by Whole Foods) was AMAZING! He looked through every piece of clothing in the back of the store and then followed up with managers and staff at various locations to track my item down. Once it was found, he made sure I didn't pay for the cleaning services on that item. Seriously such a nice person and really went out of his way to help me. I still use Medlin-Davis despite that mishap because of how well that clerk handled everything.

Worst experience I’ve had at a cleaners. Asked for my jacket to be repaired and hadn’t heard from them in a week. I called and they said it was complete. However when I went there nothing had been done to it and then I waited another week and heard nothing again. When I called the manager they said the seamstress is in a different department and couldn’t discount the repair. Will never be back. Would not recommend.

I live on the coast, my daughter lives in North Raleigh. No one in my area would/could clean suede or properly clean and preserve a wedding gown. They do both and did a spectacular job. Further more, they worked with me because I could not pick the items up in person. My daughter did not have the tickets to retrieve the items. I think the service is fantastic. The ease of leaving my cleaning on the porch and having it delivered back is wonderful. I do wish there was an easy way to leave specific instructions. Found the cleaning service when our washing machine broke. (FYI don't repair a modern washing machine. Just buy a knew). They did our entire laundry service while the machine was out of service. We used another cleaner before Medlin-Davis. Professional staff, easy drive through, and good prices. Best clear I have found in the Wake Forest / North Raleigh area. Just started the delivery service and we are loving it.

Amazing- I drove up and an attendant was there to greet me, saw the laundry bag in the bag seat, and when I said “that’s it “ she opened the back door, grabbed it, and was back with a stub in 15 seconds. Same for the pickup. Every item was folded, sorted, and stacked. I was in and out in less than 2 minutes, and never got out of my car!!!

I have edited this review as they made a mistake with a high end piece of clothing but the owner was VERY quick to respond to my review and make ammends. He fixed the shirt and even offered to pick it up personally and return it to us. I still mark it a 4 because they should have caught the mistake but his attitude to making sure we were happy with his service awards him 4 stars. That was our first visit but due to his quick response we have gone several more times and each time the service and quality was excellent. Thank you.

Took 6 visits to have my last shirt done correctly (creased in the wrong places, railroad tracks, etc.). When I pointed out the mistakes, I was originally told to iron them at home! Due to being an NCSU student I've been going here for 3.5 years. In the past they occasionally made mistakes, but I spent more on gas going back and forth then I did on the shirt.

I had brought my suit in for cleaning, and had requested the rush service so it would be ready by 10:00am the following morning. Later in the day, I realized my flight was at 10:35 and there was no way to get my suit the next morning and make my flight, so I went into the store and spoke with the lady working the counter. (I don't remember her name, but she was new) There was no way to get it at 7am, so instead she found the suite for me and gave it back. I was able to make the 10:30 flight, AND I was offered the job I was interviewing for. She went above and beyond to help me overcome MY mistake. Thank You!!
