Probably one of the worst laundry matts I've been in. Many machines out of order. Not all of them marked out of order so you have to keep moving your clothes. Very dirty. Trash on the floor. Jelly smeared on chairs. TV kept getting message the satellite was going to be shut off. Gal working there could not give refunds without contacting manager and was constantly on her phone for personal calls. Maybe she ought to grab a broom and mop instead. I will drive to Havelock from now on

I don't use the cleaners, but I do have to use the laundromat, unfortunately. Through out my lifetime, I have had to use laundromats a lot, and this one is by far the worst. On any given day, I'd say only half of the machines, both dryers and washers, work properly, if they run at all. If you put money in a bad machine, that isn't marked as out of order to boot, and waste half an hour of your time only to find that the machine didn't work properly, the attendants will reimburse you. But, how to you reimburse wasted time? The facility itself is always generally messy. It's a most unpleasant experience on top of an already unpleasant experience of having to go to a laundromat. Whenever I'm in Cowell's Laundromat, I see evidence that the Cowell's really don't care. Again, worst laundromat, ever!

Very good place for your clothes to wash & dry, dry cleaning even get shoes repair do hats too and they are good

I moved here about 2 months ago and have been using the dry cleaning store as well as the Laundromat and could not be more pleased. Definite upgrade from where I used to live in raliegh. I will be back

If I could give this 0 stars I would, paid $8 for the no touch car wash.... sprayed our truck then it stopped and said car wash complete, didn't wash, didn't do anything but spray it with water and said exit. The sprayer was stuck in the middle of the exit so we had to back up out of it, went to go find someone to get it fixed or a refund and there was no one in sight, won't be coming back.

Good machines & it's clean. There are no shady people hanging around as you might find with other laundromats. The machines work well & there are no galf-clean or dry clothes.

This place has gone downhill. The washers spin poorly which means extra time in the dryer.....cha ching. Staff is friendly when available but they can only do so much.

Dirty,half the machines dont work and drywrs suck. Staff unfriendly or seems luke u bother them from watching whatever movienthey brought with them on their kindle

Didn't need dry cleaning. Only used it so I wouldn't have to iron the father of the bride's shirt to his sit and pants for rehearsal dinner. They were dropped off on rd Tuesday and were to be back on Thursday. Friday afternoon they still were not there. Made do for rehearsal dinner. Saturday morning, I was still told they were not there. That is when I list it! No I was not nice, I was panicked as to where and even what size that shirt was! After 15 minutes of panic, nice lady called back and said they were there just not poor into computer. My first time using their service and also my last! I'm sorry someone did not take their job more serious than talking Orr texting on their phone, or whatever happened, but not very reliable. Panicked!!!!!!!

I used their dry cleaning service and had two issues, 1. WAY OVERPRICED same price for shorts and pants and nearly $7.00 per shirt and I was not informed of these outrageous prices beforehand it ended up being a $300 bill for 30 items. And after paying my outrageous bill while I was still in front of the kind woman who works there I noticed not 1 but 2 of my irreplaceable items were completely ruined and the woman agreed that it was not like that when I brought it in. My silk skirt was burned and the rest stiff, and my jacket with a vinyl belt was melted. The nice woman was not able to offer me any sort of discount I was told I had to take it up with the owner the following day. Needless to say you have been fairly warned I wish I had been notified I was going to be ripped off, plus they ship all of your belongings to New Bern UPDATE: THE OWNER contacted me telling me if I didn't take this review down that she would respond with a nasty review about myself, let me explain Due to my complete shock of the entire situation from price to ruined items I accidentally wrote a check out of my old check book when I got home i called the following morning when they were open and gave a credit card number and apologized for my innocent mistake. The owner was extremely nasty and was only concerned with the fact that I would ruin her business' reputation with a truthful and honest review to protect other customers. I informed her my husband was military and would be filing a complaint about her business and she hung up on me. Dirty business folks.

Thank you Cowells Cleaners of Newport for saving my laundry I left in a dryer. I had to go out of town on an emergency and they had my clothing bagged up and behind the counter, still , after almost 24 hours. I have rated this business poorly before but with new staff it has greatly improved

I have been here several times. Each time there was a garment lost. The last time I went, I received someone else's shirt and not my own. I discussed this with the counter personnel. I was told that maybe they would be able to find it. It is amazing that I get the cheap stuff back but that only my $75 dress shirts disappear. Unless you want to continue to replace your clothes, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. When they lose the clothes it is amazing that it is never their fault. They always have an excuse. IT NEEDS TO BE CLOSED!!

AWFUL service machines breaking down while trying to use and half of the large machines already out of order. Had to use a machine that reeked of mildew and mold and dryers also falling apart some very noisy. DO NOT TAKE A SMOKE OR VAPE BREAK went outside to wait for my machines to finish and came back to find an employee and another impatient rude customer emptying out my clothes and property without my permission. Will Never come back to this laundry mat if it was the only one open id rather hand wash my stuff in a ditch!

The owner, Gloria Cowell failed to refund me for a botched patch job on my wool pants. Then she lost my pants and refused to replace them or pay for a partial replacement. After she lost my pants, Gloria stopped taking my phone calls after we spoke several times and she was well aware of the problem. I attempted to contact her then 7 times with no answers or replies to my voicemails. She is both dishonest and lazy in her business practices. I was strung along by her from Jan 2018 to the End of May 2018 before I gave up on her fixing this. I also called other Cowell locations looking for my lost pants. Beware of Cowell Cleaners! They will let you down!

Used the middle stall on the three car wash stations. Usually it always plenty of soap, degreaser, wax. But it was out of soap and wax. They did install new pumps with a lot pressure.

I have gone to this laundromat for 6+yrs, but I refuse to go, ever, again. Today as I was doing laundry, my son began to run around with another little boy. I corrected him a couple of times while putting laundry into the washers. Suddenly, I hear a worker literally SCREAMING at my son and the other little boy that they need to stop. She then began screaming at me and the other gentleman who had brought the other boy, that if we couldn't control our children, that we would have to leave. She then went on to say (scream) that if we didn't control them, she could call Social Services, because they have cameras there (to prove our lack of control). Later she came up to me specifically, and told me that she has received numerous complaints from other customers about my son's behavior, and that I should go to another laundromat. Let me be clear. My son is not perfect. He can sometimes be annoying and/or misbehaved, as ALL 5y/o boys can. But I have never received a verbal complaint from anyone, neither customers nor staff. In fact, maybe about a year ago, another worker complimented how well behaved my son was. I told her (the worker today) this is the 1st time anyone has ever spoken to me about my son's behavior, to which she forcefully stated that it wasn't, and that they have cameras to prove I've been there before, blah blah blah. (Never stated they have proof of his poor behavior before today...) I have never been treated so disrespectfully in any business establishment. I don't know if that worker got me confused with someone else... I don't care. You don't go screaming at children or adults, when they're customers. You speak rationally & calmly. And don't go threatening CPS. That goes well beyond unprofessional. Sounds vindictive because you're ticked off.
