The delivery and pickup people are very nice but the service itself has gotten very expensive for what it is. When I started with them a couple of years ago, the minimum for wash and fold was $20. Without any notice they then increased the minimum to $25 in about a year. Now, less than a year later it’s up to a $30 min! No notice was given to me. They simply upcharge me. And I checked their website and I see no mention of this on their pricing schedule. I also emailed them to ask them directly and heard nothing back. It’s a sleazy practice and I’m looking for another service, sadly.

I lived in an apartment where there were no laundry machines and no laundromats nearby. I used Hamperville for a year and I was really happy with it. My clothes were always returned perfect. I wish I could find a service like this in Chicago!

DO NOT USE Hamperville unless you are OK with melted and broken bras, melted beading and embellishments, grey looking whites, colour stained clothes and MAJOR shrinkage!! I was visiting NY and did not have access to a washing machine so I used Hamperville. I was very specific about wanting like colours washed together, included colour catching paper to be used and even let them know that I was willing to pay extra for this service. I was left devastated with most of the load picked up ruined, including new items purchased during the holiday. When I contacted Hamperville they simply said that they held no responsibility for any of this damage! Very poor!

I recently moved and decided to try out Hamperville for my new wash and fold provider. I sent them roughly 2-3 loads of laundry. The same amount of laundry that I have always had sent out. This amount of laundry usually totals about 15 lbs give or take. I was charged for THIRTY ONE pounds of laundry. There is absolutely NO way that my laundry weighed that much. Deciding to weigh it myself, it came out to 18 pounds. That sounds far closer to my typical weight. I will not be using Hamperville again because this caused my bill to be triple what I was expecting, their scales seem to be quite a bit off.

When I leave NYC, I will want to bring these guys with me. They are super professional and do an excellent job. The clothes are folded so well and organized so neatly it's like a machine. The key service for unattended pick up and drop off makes it even more convenient. The Android app could use some work but on iOS and the web, the interface is great. Definitely recommend these guys and hoping they don't leave before I do.

Great job getting clothes clean. Tried other places and just watched clothes deteriorate and get dingier and dingier. Trusted Hamperville with some new purchases and was not disappointed. Also really like that they offer a wash and press service. Would definitely recommend.

I have used HamperVille in the past and have never had such a bad experience as I did this past week. When submitting your pick up request on their site, you are able to input your laundry preferences - such as detergent, washer/dryer settings, etc. I requested that my laundry be washed on cold with Tide and tumble dried low. We also included our own dryer sheets. Seems like a simple enough job, right? NO. Being the diligent person that I am, I not only submitted my preferences via their website, I also sent their customer service an email AND included a handwritten note that was neatly tucked inside my laundry bag. I made triple sure my instructions were clear. Unfortunately they weren't as clear as I had hoped, as my laundry came back to me with multiple problems. 1. All of my clothing was horribly fragranced. I emailed customer service - they had used fragranced Downy Fabric Softner. I did not ask for fabric softner. I was told they "felt like my clothes could use it", so took it upon themselves to override my instructions. My problem with this is that we suffer from allergies and are very sensitive to smells. 2. My pillowcase (of course my favorite one) came back with a hole in it. There was no hole in it when I sent it to them, so somehow they managed to ruin it. 3. And this is completely inexcusable and I did not realize it until a day or so later when getting dressed. EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF CLOTHING WAS SHRUNK. That's right - EVERYTHING. This tells me that they also ignored my clear instructions to wash cold and tumble dry low. This is how I always care for my clothing, so they last longer and do not shrink. I now have some (rather expensive) items of clothing that are unwearable due to the amount of shrinkage. How hot did they wash these clothes? My guess is everything was washed on hot and dried on high, the complete opposite of what I had requested not once, not twice, but three times. So let's review - I paid this company to do my laundry, which was essentially to save me time. However I ultimately paid them to ignore my instructions, shrink and ruin my clothing and pillowcase. I also had to re-wash everything due to the fragranced Downy, so now that means I had to re-do what I paid them to do - wasted money and time. Their customer service is also horrendous - I've been emailing for over 48 hours now and have received no awknowlegment of the MAJOR issues that have occurred. If you even remotely care about the condition of your clothing please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. EVER. EVER.
