I have used HamperVille in the past and have never had such a bad experience as I did this past week. When submitting your pick up request on their site, you are able to input your laundry preferences - such as detergent, washer/dryer settings, etc. I requested that my laundry be washed on cold with Tide and tumble dried low. We also included our own dryer sheets. Seems like a simple enough job, right? NO. Being the diligent person that I am, I not only submitted my preferences via their website, I also sent their customer service an email AND included a handwritten note that was neatly tucked inside my laundry bag. I made triple sure my instructions were clear. Unfortunately they weren't as clear as I had hoped, as my laundry came back to me with multiple problems. 1. All of my clothing was horribly fragranced. I emailed customer service - they had used fragranced Downy Fabric Softner. I did not ask for fabric softner. I was told they "felt like my clothes could use it", so took it upon themselves to override my instructions. My problem with this is that we suffer from allergies and are very sensitive to smells. 2. My pillowcase (of course my favorite one) came back with a hole in it. There was no hole in it when I sent it to them, so somehow they managed to ruin it. 3. And this is completely inexcusable and I did not realize it until a day or so later when getting dressed. EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF CLOTHING WAS SHRUNK. That's right - EVERYTHING. This tells me that they also ignored my clear instructions to wash cold and tumble dry low. This is how I always care for my clothing, so they last longer and do not shrink. I now have some (rather expensive) items of clothing that are unwearable due to the amount of shrinkage. How hot did they wash these clothes? My guess is everything was washed on hot and dried on high, the complete opposite of what I had requested not once, not twice, but three times. So let's review - I paid this company to do my laundry, which was essentially to save me time. However I ultimately paid them to ignore my instructions, shrink and ruin my clothing and pillowcase. I also had to re-wash everything due to the fragranced Downy, so now that means I had to re-do what I paid them to do - wasted money and time. Their customer service is also horrendous - I've been emailing for over 48 hours now and have received no awknowlegment of the MAJOR issues that have occurred. If you even remotely care about the condition of your clothing please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. EVER. EVER.
