I have been a longtime customer of Merry Maids Columbia, and initially was very pleased with their services and with the cleaning team. The office staff was lovely and the cleaning team was as well and worked hard. The cleaning services were expensive, but I felt it was worth it, as I am a working mother. However, as time went on, I felt that the team was increasingly sloppy with their work, and every 3rd visit or so, there would be major omission in the the cleaning (ie, an entire bathroom wasn't cleaned, beds repeatedly not made, the kitchen counters and stove back stops left with grease etc). Additionally, because of these repeated errors, I felt like I had to be present for the cleaning, which required the team to come late in the day due to my work schedule. Yet, every month, we received a message from the office staff not acknowledging what we have previously scheduled and trying to schedule the teams to come at times of the day when my family and I can't be there. Other than sloppiness, the team also started coming increasingly later that they scheduled to, and this was disruptive to our family schedule. Lately, the customer service has been terrible. I was not treated with respect or like a long-term or loyal customer, which became very frustrating. When mistakes were brought up, there was no attempt to rectify them or adjust service prices, other than to issue an apology. The Merry Maids motto is to help make your life easier, but it has lately only added stress. I will be taking my business elsewhere and hope they reconsider how they treat existing customers.
