I worked at Card Concepts full-time (More than a year)
Pros
Occasionally the owner Steve is out of the office for a few days at a time, thats about the best you can ask for here.
Cons
This company sells a card network system to laundromats so you can pay with credit cards or loyalty cards. If you work in the tech support dept. you will be paid as a level 1 tech, but will do level 2/3 firewall/networking support and configuration. Most of the people you will support via phone will speak terrible English making troubleshooting anything a near impossibility. You will receive very little training with terribly managed/organized documentation. Best not bring up any of these issues though, criticism is not something the Marcionetti's can handle. If you do manage to work as a tier 1 tech long enough, you might be asked to move up into roles with more responsibility, but your pay will not change over night even though the new position may pay 10k more a year. Steve (owner) will put you on a gradual raise that will most likely take you a year to reach the actual salary of the position.
You will be supporting touch kiosks and supporting all the hardware (computer, card dispenser, card reader etc...) All of the parts are outrageously priced. Each kiosk runs a Dell XE2 for which they charge $900. They make their customer base think that they add things or tweak the dell specifically for the system, but in reality, its just a out of the box $150 Dell XE2 with nothing added. If you don't buy these parts through CCI, you will not be supported.
The only reason this company survives is lack of competition. If you're looking for a job, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a card reader network for your laundromat, research Spyder Wash.
