This is a must stop for all hikers/bikers on the AZT or any hikers in the canyon. The Mather campground hiker/biker campsite is convenient located right behind the building that houses the laundry and showers with a small camper store. Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about trails and services advable in the canyon.

Good facilities but $2.50 for a 5 min shower. That's $30 per hour or $720 per day or $21,600 per month, $259,200 per year. I believe they have 16 showers. So over $4 Million per year potentially. But the facility is open 5am(?) till 11pm so let's say about $3 Million per year if used at full capacity. Wow, what did I just calculate!!! Just the shower income at the GCNP by the NPS, potentially. Let's say it's being used at 1/3rd capacity, that's still $1Million. But hey, this IS the Grand Canyon! Water is scarce here, down in the canyon!

Awesome campground and very well maintained. My only complaint was that it got very cold at night. I mean VERY cold so make sure you check the forecast before assuming it is always warm in Arizona.

Visited the showers/laundry while staying at Trailer Village in Mid May 2018. Our trailer had a very tiny wet bath, so it was way more comfortable to use the showerhouse. Water was always hot, and $2 for 8 minutes was definitely reasonable. Showers were always clean, and we went early in the morning but never had an issue actually getting a shower. Laundry facilities were great, and also weren't too busy when we were there. Change machine in the building, however we brought our own quarters on the trip. A few machines were out of order, but the attendant on duty took care of everyone and made sure we had what we needed.

Good place for camping they give you a big area for setting up you tent and a fire place and grill. Sad thing is 10pm to 6pm you should not make any noise in the sense it's quite time. Night time you can hear wolfsaking sound and the sky looks amazing when you are sitting and watching night sky.

Had a wonderful, serene trip a few weeks ago in the Grand Canyon. Camped at our tent site for about 5 days. Quiet, clean, friendly sites and neighbors. Enjoyed being able to hike trails right there since we brought our dog. Elk often roamed the campgrounds which was so cool. Really appreciated the nearby town accommodations like grocery store and the campground showers and laundry!!!!

Great campground. Within walking distance of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Campers Market is near Mather Campground as is Shuttle Bus terminals. The campground has a centralized Shower and Laundry building. While each campground loop has multi-toilet facilities. Campground roads are one way and paved [plan on your door side for RV and Trailers] when making reservations. There are pull through sites as well as back in. Rig lengths and site accommodations vary. Really large rigs most likely will not fit. [There is an adjacent RV type campground]. it is highly recommended you do not arrive without prior reservations. Pay particular attention to site/rig lengths when using their website. The website also has viewable images to help you visualizer better.

Great Campground with running water in restrooms, showers and laundry area. We used the showes once, but didn't do laundry, but here are a few things I noted for my next trip. 9am, Noon, 3pm and 6pm, are when the showers are cleaned. I noticed a large amount of hair in the women's shower floors (I wentat 8:30), so I recommend that you come in right after they are cleaned, and maybe wear shoes made to get wet or sandles that can get wet in the shower. There is a machine that gives quarters, but be sure to being cash. The cost is $2.50 for 5 minutes for both men and women showers. The water was hot...and it was great!!! The Laundromat area looks nice. I didn't use them, but it seemed popular. Standard wash is $2.50 40 lb is $5.50 Soap $1.25 Dryers $1.25 for 30 minutes Hope you have as much fun as we did!

Awesome campsite to take in the Grand Canyon. Vehicle parking right by your tent set up. Fire ring is there for you to cook or chill. Bring your own wood! Bike rental place is close by.

$2 for 8 minutes was ok, as water is scarce in the South rim. Wear your shower sandles as it's not the most sparking campground shower I've ever used. The showers are co-located with the camp coin laundry. It worked for me, though my wife chose to hold out for a nicer KOA shower on the way to our next destination.

Wow what a treat after camping all week! 2$ in quarters gets you 8min of a nice hot shower . There is also a laundromat there so you can get everything all cleaned up. The facility was surprisingly clean considering how many people were there using it. There was a place to plug in a hair dryer too. Definately bring your own shampoo and toiletries unless you dont mind using the basic pump soap provided in each shower stall. The floors are wet so flip flops are recommended if you dont want to be barefoot in a public place.

In general I think the price is quite reasonable has there is a water shortage in the area and other showers and nearby National Parks have cost for a $2.50 to $4 for similar or less time. The facility is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. (in July). I recommend that you go earlier than 10 as I was turned away at 10:30 by the shower attendant because they wanted to go home to their family.
