REVIEWS OF School of Rock Issaquah IN Washington

Our daughter has been at School of Rock for 5 years. She has had an amazing experience with great instructors and a fun atmosphere. This is a great place for kids to learn about music whether it be a beginner or the more advanced players.

Sergei Nikishin

The way teachers and students communicate is awesome. My son developed his own taste of music. Was always enthusiastic about the school.

Colin Hutchinson

It was a wonderful experience for our son. We are moving out of state and will miss school of rock tremendously.

This is where my son is a true star for a week! Killing it on the drums, bass and singing he is in his element and gets better and better year after year. He enjoys it so much, great instructors, fab show at the end of the week and great kids up on stage rocking out!! Its truly amazing to watch and be a part of. Highly recommend.

Monia Iorillo

My son loves it here! Great people and great atmosphere for everyone!

The staff at School of Rock Issaquah are fantastic. Besides being knowledgeable in the field of music they also have wonderful personalities and make me and my son feel very welcome. The small group learning sessions at his age are a wonderful introduction into music theory and all the instruments as well as providing a bit of that "band" setting. Highly recommend!

Great to meet people and make friends. I understand you cover bands but still no creativity. It’s a school of learning how to play with other people but doesn’t encourage creativity. Just go there, assemble your own band and get out and change the world...

Being a part of School of Rock.of Issaquah for 3 years has been a miserable experience. I wish I had listened to the warning signs that these owners were petty, unprofessional, and unethical. I wish I hadn't wasted roughly $15,000 of my family's money, which doesn't even include the 6 tickets everyone is forced to buy for every show. You soon come to realize that special programs like House Band and Allstars are just "carrots" that they can hang over you in order to convince you need to pay for more lessons, more camps, and more speciality mini classes that are extremely expensive. There were a few last straws for us. A wonderful instructor was bullied out by the owners when he refused to put the owner's daughter in the more advanced group. Then, they decided to become 2/3 of the judges for the auditions to place their own daughter over more talented students. We refused to put our child into this unethical situation, and because we ever brought it up, we were "punished". Also, in the last show my child was in, our child was subjected to really negative behavior from older kids that were 3-4 years older because most kids were sitting around unsupervised for hours while instructors were working with small groups. In talking to others, this type of bullying was happening to others. One of child's former friends at the school bragged about getting away with sexual activity because no one was watching them during the 3 hour practice time. With so many other great music programs like this in Issaquah and in the area, you don't need to go to one that is run by evil people.

I like that Connor jumped right into playing popular songs with Josh and teaching him technique along the way. I think for younger kids it can be hard to keep their attention by starting with theory and children songs ,

Try this place for a season and you will be hooked! We love the performance program, our son has a great time and his skills improve with every show. Great confidence builder too, being able to perform on stage! The management here is outstanding as well! We love it!

Jessica Reames

Love this place and I am so thankful to have found it and that my daughter has the opportunity to learn here.

School of Rock Issaquah has changed our lives completely. Both my kids have grown in their musical skills but more importantly they have grown as people. The teamwork and talent that abounds at SOR Issaquah has contributed in an enormously positive to our family.

Huntington Learning Center Issaquah

My son loves his weekly drum lesson and band practice. It's been a great way for him to engage with other kids his age that don't attend the same school but have a shared interest. School of Rock is so much fun and has really built up his confidence and given him an outlet for his stress and anxiety.

Zane Brandt

Awesome teachers and great performance groups.

Kendra Hoffman

I think the song-based approach is incredibly helpful. I've taken lessons on and off for years, and always end up quitting because it's hard to stay motivated with just drills. Having a song or two to play with is way more fun, and even helps me understand the point of the drills. My instructor really knows his stuff, and is even able to explain the workings of the instrument and how to care for it, not just how to play it.

Very friendly instructors and polite managing staff

Very fun, energetic, upbeat, and engaging. First thing my son has taken an interest in in a while.

The concept is brilliant and great musical education for our son who’s now 12. The selection of covers that kids play is fantastic- adapted to the level they are but since the beginning just songs we love to listen to. The formula of having both band practices and individual lessons is a perfect balance. The teachers are very engaged and knowledgeable. I also like that while the kids have a primary instrument (drums in my son’s case), they are encouraged to play others or sing in some songs. But the culmination is of course the concert after each period. Kids playing in legendary Seattle clubs like Crocodile are in itself experiences. And it does not hurt these are Instagrammable

Iwona Sakałus

Very innovative way to teach kids the love of music. Play with the band, but get also private lessons as part of the program. And all culminating in a real concert at a venue in Seattle. Staff is super friendly and flexible with the hours arrangements.

Stephanie Kennedy

The adult program at the school is great - I went from singing in front of literally no one to having the confidence to sing on stage in front of anyone! The instructors are very knowledgeable, helpful, passionate, and fantastic at what they do. The owners are friendly and more than willing to answer questions. I also really like that I can use my personal lesson slot for whatever instrument I want to try (when available), not always just for the track I'm on. Very happy with my experience at School of Rock Issaquah!
