Clean...great staff... very chill atmosphere. Love it.

I really enjoy this location near Willowbrook Mall. It has several workout machines. Has a an indoor pool. It has a gym with four basketball goals. The staff does not micromanage you even when you have kids they're working out with you. They just want to make sure that they're safe and supervised. It's a really nice atmosphere and I like the prayer wall as well where you can leave a prayer there.
Love the classes and the instructors, Shirley L, Lori, Lisa, Kristie, Lucy, Stacy, I 've never had a bad instructor. The other staff members are usually very friendly and helpful. Plus the amazing facility with so many equipment options! I love how it feels so comfortable and never indimidating.
Great place to spend quality time with the family and get also get a good workout.
Wonderful staff, wonderful facility. I'm extremely happy with this location. Thank you for all you do...
Massive modern clean gym . Dry sauna . Whirlpool . No towel service
I recently got a citywide pass, and started exploring the water aerobics classes for jumpstarting weightloss with weakened knees. They are frequent and phenomenal. You think senior citizens, but I feel great and burnt 1,245 calories in 2 hours according to my phone app. Even if thats not entirely accurate, its entirely MOTIVATIONAL. Did I mention I feel great...no pain. Also, its the 3rd largest facility in the country. Its a bit tight on parking, but there so many perks...friendly staff, immaculate, spacious locker rooms, sauna, whirlpool, classes of all types, indoor track and several cardio rooms. Plenty of staff, too.
Constantly have people playing loud music in their parking lot which has never been checked out by law enforcement.
Love it!!!!
The newly renovated Y at Cypress Creek is a true gem. The contemporary design of the facility as well as the lovely landscaping is awesome; it is truly a state of the art facility catering to all ages.
Camp was very disappointing this year!!! Due to the flood the main building was closed. Therefore all the kids had to stay outside with no AC and barely any water throughout the day. (Of course they don't tell you this when you sign up and pay). If I pay for something I expect to be told these sort of things. Especially when it comes to my kid. My kid got sick several times. On top of calling me saying she doesn't feel good almost every day. This was my kids 4th year there. Not once until this year did I ever have to go and pick my kid up from being sick or her not want to be there. AND come to find out she wasn't sick she was having heat strokes. The place is ran by a bunch of teenage kids who look like they can barely take care of them selves let alone a bunch of kids. Not happy. We will be looking for something better for the future. Not worth the money!
Clean, comfortable, family friendly environment.
Miss. Sarah was awesome! She help me get all set up with my membership. She answer all of mine and my Dad's questions. She has even answer my questions after I started going. I love swimming my laps. The lifeguards are great at answering your questions too. The staff are great. I love coming to McWilliams YMCA.
They have great serves and its fun
Fantastic facility and personnel. Friendly, encouraging atmosphere.
Professional staff, clean and offers a host of classes for various age groups; overall an excellent family friendly Christian environment.
Very clean and the staff looks like they really enjoy being around to help you with any questions.
I LOVE THIS Y!!! I come here almost every day. It's clean, people and staff are friendly, there are so many classes! Les Mills, Active Older Adult, water aerobics, yoga, pilates, Body Jam, Low Impact, Zumba, Tai Chi....the schedule stays the same for the most part but times change sometimes, and other times classes are added and dropped, due to interest in that class. There is a fishing pond and a nature trail, and a community garden. I love it and definitely can justify the $84/mo for a couples membership. There are trips for seniors, book clubs, coffee lounges, women's workout center, massage, facials too. Everyone's great here, I just love it. Just like any public facility, use a lock on your locker. Do not leave ANYTYHING visible in your car. Hand towels are supplied, and pretty much everyone is good about wiping down machines after they use them. The employees wipe them down too but it's courteous to clean up after yourself, even if it's to wipe the bicycle seat after using it. I come in the mornings, so I'm describing the morning crowd. This is my second home, I love it so much.
Great classes, friendly staff, new and shiny!

Love the variety. We need more room in the yoga room and more yoga classes. Some virtual yoga would be nice.
Great YMCA. Lots of things to do & participate in. Great people work there!
Took a tour of the place a and while it was nice it's too expensive I would say. Online the price for a family was 58 but when I went in for a tour they told me that it was only for 2 months and from there the price would increase to 103. Looked nice but not sure if I would spend that much especially since they close early.
I just wanted to disagree with the last review on here. About the kids area. (The Y is the best one) ...Anyway, I have found that the kids are always involved in group activities! They are playing musical chairs, games, and even dodgeball!... maybe it depends on the time that you are there, but every evening that I have gone, my 5, 7, and 12 year old enjoy themselves.
We've had a family membership at the Y for about a year and a half now. We have been very pleased with their facilities and their staff - both are top notch!!
Love this YMCA! I have participated in the SilverSneakers Active Older Adults Program and have nothing but good things to say about it activities and programs
Love this YMCA I personally think it's the best one in Houston. I've been to 5 other Y's only complaint is the kids area. My 7 and 8 year old think it's boring and unfortunately I agree they have the tube slide playground but for some reason they always have chairs blocking the slide and they can't use it, feels l like a waste of money to have the kids on my membership.
Terrible gym. The equipment is alright but the hours are absolutely terrible. They open later than most gyms and close extremely early as well. Would recommend most gyms over the Y.
Im sorry but i just went after calling to see if i could get some assistance with my rent due to not working good and they told me what i needed to bring which was my 1040 for which i was confused and asked why not my rental and late payment paper from my Apartment. They said its to verify dependents . So i get here and they want me to open up a membership and im like well i come here for assistance for rent so that means i dont have the 125 for a membership. And still would not answer my questions on seeing if they would help or not. Very disappointed wasted gas i dont have and my time to which i could have been calling other organizations for help before tomorrow when me and my kids are homeless. and a lady where i live said to come here because they cut her a check for rent the same day. So now what
Great location with plenty to do. Daycare is by far the best I've ever seen. Great place.
I was waiting anxiously for the new facility to open. I absolutely loved this Y before it flooded. They completely removed several things that made this facility great. The Women's Center is gone! It used to be a hit, so I don't know why they would get rid of this. No more sauna or jacuzzi in the women's bathroom...no more racquet ball...I know racquet ball is not at all gyms, but it made this facility unique. Also, where did all the employees go? I went there with my mom recently and was immediately stopped because her card didn't scan, but in the meantime a group of about 10 people walked in without scanning any card! How are they deciding on who to check? I feel like they should be discounting the monthly fee due to the fact that they do not have all the amenities they had when I initially signed up years ago. I will be looking around for a new place to go.
Staff was nice
Amazing facility with everything you need! And super friendly staff and some terrific personal trainers to go along with it. I'm sad because I had to cancel my membership as this gym was a long drive from my house, even though it was still the closest YMCA.
I love this YMCA. Perfectly clean, excellent and wide range of equipment and programs. Can't beat the staff either. The indoor, heated pool is my favorite. Come check it out.
best YMCA in houston... also best gym in this area. you can choose many variety aerobic class, and there are cardio room, weight room, basket ball hall, swimming pool, yoga mind and body room, and special women workout.
The Y at 249 and Cypresswood (Bradley McWilliams) is great!
Their child watch is a joke! They had some mentally retarded person in charge of the kids who started grabbing my 3 year old sons shoes off his feet. My sons foot was literally in the air and he was crying and screaming as this person (who was clearly not qualified to watch kids) was yanking and pulling his at his shoes and feet. I reported this incident to the manager who said they were not licensed individuals who watched the kids and you leave them at your own risk!!!!! Does that make you feel safe leaving your kids there? They clearly do no thave any sense of responsibility in caring for your children. Other than that horrible event, the facilities are smelly, dirty, and outdated and the staff is unhelpful.
Excelente lugar para entrenar divertirse y ponerse en forma... lo más importante es que los niños también se divierten
Everything is great the gym even the daycare! But not the staff at the pool! The lifeguards are most of the so rude and take a long time to do a swimming test. Not only that , but they need to have more respect for other people's This does not include all of them but most of them are just rude. One time a lifeguard took like 30 minutes to do a swim test to my little sister and for a moment I Even thought he was ignoring me. I had to tell him more that 10 times and my sister only had like 20 minutes to swim in the pool!
Great for after school
My family and I LOVE this place!!
I love to loose waight last night was my first time and i live it specially that cardio rooom
My son LOVES his summers there. They are amazing and keep them going.
I am 81 years old and have been a member of this Y for almost 8 years; the heated indoor pool with the water exercise program is the only reason I joined, However every Fall there has been a problem with the Y waiting until the water gets to the freezing point and people are complaining before turning on the heat for the Winter, This Fall is no exception, They told me when I joined that the pool was maintained at 82 degrees summer and winter Tonight it was advertised on the chalk board outside the pool that that the water temperature was 79 degrees, but it was really so cold when I got in it that I turned around and went home before my class started. A complete waste of my time and gas to get there from home.
I really like the McWilliams YMCA. I joined almost 2 months ago and have already recommended to people I know. This is such a clean facility with well maintained equipment; there are great teachers for excellent group classes and lots of wonderful staff to assist. The overall environment is awesome for the individual and family. My daughter loves the outdoor pool and I feel safe that she is able to come and have a place for her to do activities while I am working out.
We love, love, love the YMCA. We have been members for years. It is so much more than a gym. It is also a vibrant part of our community, with special help for the elderly and the disadvantaged. Unlike most gyms, they do not attack you with high-pressure sales pitch, and they even treat their staff well. Our beloved Y is now on hard times, due to being flooded by Harvey. At this time, we have a mini YMCA (a smaller building with workout equipment, child care and 3 classrooms) and an outdoor pool. We can't wait until our full facility comes back sometime in the fall.
My fav place!
I can not speak more highly of this Y. They are all about relationships, community, and being Christ minded. Their child care area has one of the best programs we've ever experienced and the staff are a large part of why my family loves it there.
It's a great place to go work out, but I don't like that they do not provide towels for the public .
i love the ymca i have been a member for17 yrs love it here.
(Translated by Google) Very attentive staff, and very quiet, very nice atmosphere! (Original) Muy atentos él personal , y muy tranquilo ,, muy bonito ambiente !
Love the look of the new gym!
Terrible place!
I just recently signed up here during the week that they were waiving the join fee and I am so glad I did so. The facility is so nice, clean and the amount of equipment, classes and activities they have is unreal. I know it has been recently renovated in the last year or two, and it definitely shows. Big thumbs up to this location!
There is no lake here anymore. Shrubs and plants took over.
Enjoy our YMCA....
I came to use a guest pass after the remodel and I was excited to try a Zumba class at 9 months pregnant, well one of your ignorant staff members rudely asked if I was pregnant with twins, I won’t be getting a membership here ever after that
If only the women center is not closed at 8pm, i would give a five star
Disorganized location - the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Called to sign up my daughter for a week of summer camp. The lady at front desk said there were still spots available. After an hour of going through registration process online it came to a page where it said: waiting list. Calling back, asking about the available spots the lady (Shannon) said she talked to a Program director (Donny) and that we can come Monday no problem and pay at the front desk. This morning (Monday), showing up with my daughter at the front desk - they can't find us in the system, 2 girls at the front desk are incompetent, basically told us "there are bunch of people on the wait list, we can't do anything". My 7 years old is standing there, her eyes full of tears. Why did you make us come here if you knew you wouldn't let us in? Thank God, there are better YMCA's in the area, called the Woodlands YMCA, they've found us in the system right away and were able to enroll besides the fact they were full as well.
Great facility excellent personnel.
I am ready to give up our family membership. This simmer has been awful as far as the staffing of the outdoor pool. Today We arrived at 12:30 have to wait until 12:50 to do swim test, while they are running slides....and my son and his friend can't do them....they both pass swim test then they close slides until 2. Not enough lifeguards. Now there's one over the deep end where no one is swimming and 4 in the lifeguard "room".....
Great facilities and childcare.
Clean facility, good equipment in new condition, lots of classes to chose from, nice staff etc... I have been a member for quite some time and appreciation this facility. The only thing I would say needs some investment is the pre teen section. It would make a big difference in me being able to workout at different times & attend certain classes too.
They remodeled and revamped
I basically was raised in this place as both of my guardians were there constantly. And I've never had an issue granted we never had a membership but then it was free for the reff. But it's a great place for kids I learned to swim there. Amongst many other things. Wish I still lived out that way so I could continue to go.
They have great programs for keeping seniors active and offer a variety of schedule times for the classes.
Always friendly staff, very helpful and pleasant in assisting in everything my family needs. Prompt, professional and dedicated team. Very grateful for Stephon and the staff at Bradley!
Great place but the lack of professionalism is not. Was just on the phone with a lady at the front desk telling her how we have had several problems come up when scheduling semi-private swim lessons (which are already paid for). As I'm telling her my issue I hear her say "when am I going to come" or something along those lines and I stop talking and said I'm sorry.. well she wasnt talking to me and she was not listening I guess...
Love my YMCA!! Staff is always courteous and helpful and my kids and I love the programs and amenities! :)
Well I like my instructer and his substitute but the new one was so rude he doesn't respond when I say do we go all the way I said like 4 times and when he heard me he was like YES like he's annoyed and my whole swim team or 3/5 hated him...but #coachtannerisbest coach tanner yeeea is better than this dude he called me neon dude tf is that for?but it's very good so keep it up!
Love it! Love it! Love it! All new machines, fun, games, and lots of activities for active older adults and that includes me.
They are so amazing!!! I lost a very precious ring that ment a lot to me and I was found:)
Good place for a work out
after I cancelled over a year ago they started to charge my credit card again. Now they do not want to give me my money back. This place has no customer service
Greatest
the people who answer the phone are EXTREMELY RUDE. I called with a couple questions and got nothing but nasty nasty attitude. I almost don’t even want to bring me child for swim lessons and they are FREE. glad this isn’t my local YMCA, that’s for sure.
My son attends Camp Run-A-Muck that is ran through the D. Bradley YMCA. He really enjoys his time spent there and the staff. They have 3 days of swim, 1 field trip day and "Fun Friday's" every week (7/8 yr olds) so they are keeping busy and having tons of fun! The garden that the kids and staff built and maintain is very pretty. The staff is very organized with pick ups/drop offs and will make sure your child is safe. My only complaint is that it is so expensive! $195/week for one child and no family discounts seems pretty steep, but for my son's happiness it is worth it to us. Not sure that we will go back next year as my daughter will be old enough and paying nearly $400/week seems nearly impossible.
The Gym is my favorite place
The programs and activities at McWilliams YMCA are designed for families and individuals. The group exercises afford multiple time slots that whatever your schedule, there will be a time slot to your convenience. Coupled with a friendly and conscientious professional staff that are mindful of your exercise wellbeing, and a clean, spacious and up-to-date facility, you will be absolutely right in choosing McWilliams YMCA. That is why I recommend them.
It's a fantastic place to workout
I've had a great experience with their child watch with my baby. The classes are fantastic, especially pilates. The cardio room is top notch. Plenty of great state of the art machines.
Great helping staffs. Very family friendly.
If your child visits the YMCA D. Bradley McWilliams @ HWY 249 & Cypressword. BE CONCERNED!!! Ask your child about their experience every time you pick them up. Ask them if they feel safe? Ask them WHO makes them feel unsafe? And if your child doesn't talk, and something happens that just doesn't feel right, ask to see their footage. QUESTION EVERYTHING!!!
I have been a member for over 10 years. Great place!!! $
Nothing here but two cardio rooms, a pool, and a daycare
Always a great place to workout.
The best in the nation. Clean and friendly environment. Prices keep rising though. I'm not pleased with that.
Staff, instructors & people are great! Love the Christian atmosphere & all the classes!
Great workout environment...perfect for people just starting bodybuilding ornpeople who are well established bodybuilders. Staff constantly clean equipment, maintain the gym, and are more than willing to provide help to anyone requiring it.
Family bathrooms vs Unisex bathrooms!! We re-joined to this location last month, but decides not come back again after two weeks. They changed the Family bathrooms to Unisex bathrooms. We saw men without kids in these rooms and notice the signs now are Unisex bathrooms, not ‘Family’ like before. We missed the old YMCA!!
i love working out cant wait until they open the old building back
Great staff. Clean facility. Great pool with splash pad. Awesome range of classes that are covered with membership.
Newly renovated after Hurricane Harvey this is a gigantic YMCA with great group exercise classes, cardio and weight lifting areas and helpful staff.
I am not at all happy with the YMCA at this location or any other for that matter. Unfortunately, because of where they are located they are the best option for my family. I have a 31 year old handicapped daughter who they charge the full rate for even though the only thing she can use is the swimming pool. If we get her into it 3 times a month we are lucky. The swimming pool seems to be the source of most of our issues. We struggled with trying to share the indoor pool with the numerous adult floating classes, the swim lesson classes and the constant threat of lightning because they have yet to ground the pool. If you like to float or take lessons you are fortunate. If you actually want to swim it is hit or miss at best. Aside from that their mission statement is far from what actually seems to be the case. They are over staffed and under supervised. The reality of their mission statement (from my view) appears to fall into a Walmartish realm "greet customers at the door with a cursory hello and good day & hire minions to stand around and watch others workout.
We love this place. We call it our second home!
Visit here today. Nice gym, nice weight room, nice pool. I'll be back!
Excellent. but I did not give 5 stars because they have bilingual staff in the information section and it is difficult for those who do not speak much English.. en español
The front end staff is really rude and awkward. I mean I'm sorry but acting like I'm not a paying member and trying to act like I'm getting in for free because I didn't realize my card didn't scan. Isn't a good look. I will be changing to a different gym. The rest of the staff is okay. To add to that my car got broken into. Like i don’t understand how you guys don’t have security.
It's great place but the lifeguards are horrible!! Both inside and outside. There have been multiple times when I have been in the pool in an area that I shouldn't. I am asked to move out the area and I completely understand I'm in the wrong and do get out. Of course someone of another race comes in and does exactly what I did and they are allowed to do so . I always wait some time to see if they are going to tell them something and they never do unless I walk over and tell them. It's horrible to think that this has something to do with my race.
I like the variety of exercise classes offered multiple times each day everyday of the week. There is always something I can do. And I love the variety of offerings. I also love the energy and enthusiasm of all the instructors. They make working out fun and they push you to your limit without ever making you feel bad if you can not do the exercise as well as some one else. Which I at age 61 appreciate.
The YMCA is a very good facility to workout at. The facility is clean, equipped with cameras, security guards, and other Professionals who strive to keep the facility a fun family filled environment. You have options to swim, hot tub, sauna, showers, workout group classes, weights, equipment, and much more. The gym membership is reasonable. There might be a gym membership discount available to you, by your employer, or by your income level. Don't hesitate to speak with a front desk assistant or Manager that will provide you with accurate information. Caution: Bring a lock for the locker you utilize at the gym. If more instruction, or discipline, or motivation is needed on your workout journey, the Y does have trainers available for you. I didn't retain a gym trainer at the Y, but the front desk can assist you too, if you are searching for a gym trainer. Don't delay your health results! Get to work at the YMCA and earn your exercise goals! (-alz➕❤♡☝️)
UPDATE: The nice folks responded immediately after I sent them a friendly email about the situation. while they can’t change the swim test requirement (it’s a national YMCA rule) they did offer to set us up with help from their swimming instructor in order to help my son with his swimming skills. They were prompt and courteous and I can tell they want to figure this out. What a nice family pool! Sadly we were unable to fully enjoy it. I would like to suggest that the YMCA rethink their super strict swim test policy and to accommodate children with special needs. My son is 7 and is on the autism spectrum. He loves swimming and slides and I thought this would be a great place to take him on a hot summer afternoon. This YMCA has two gentle looking taller slides and a kiddy splash pad with a small slide. In order to be allowed to use the taller slides you have to swim about 20 feet in the deep end and then float on your stomach and back for Five seconds each. We gave it a shot and my son was able to doggie paddle the 20 feet but didn’t quite understand the command to float. So he failed. Was given a red tape wristband and we were told he could not use the slides. So we proceeded to the kiddy area to try to use the smaller slide. But were informed my son was too tall to use that slide. His heart was broken and he just didn’t understand. I asked the lifeguards if there was anything we could do? As the slide dump out area is only 3feet 8 inches — a depth that my son can easily just stand up in, no back floating or paddling needed. Plus there is life guard stationed there at all times. No we’re we’re told... no slide for you. Needless to say this was an unpleasant swimming experience and my son cried the entire time we were there. Won’t be coming back for a long time... I guess until we can meet those overly strict requirements.
Sports were disorganized. If a parent didn't volunteer then there was no instruction on what to do for any sport. If a parent did volunteer, they were left to their own devices with little to no instruction. We will not return.
Love the classes, the instructors and the facility!
Always good staff and friendly energy.
Staff is great, new Gym with modern equipments and facility is kept neat and clean
We love the Y!
Loved this location and all it's amenities.and classes for many, many years.......was a member for over 6 years until we finally had to quit this year. We simply aren't going enough to justify the $95 a month family membership. When we started we paid less than $75 a month years ago......but it has steadily increased annually, no longer making this a good value unless your whole family goes DAILY most days of the week. The class line up had gotten a little stale so we really stopped going, thus, we were paying each month for very little. Bummer.
It seems nice enough. But parking is a joke, and I was informed I cannot take video of my own kids during swimming lessons to show to their dad and grandparents. So that's a bummer. It's not as easy to describe via charades over the 900 mile distance how the kids are improving.
It's awesome! It has everything you need!
This place is such a life-saver for me. I park my kids in the childcare center for 2 hours almost every morning, and take some much needed time to myself. The childcare center staff is amazing with my kids, and they love coming here. Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly, and not just the employees. There is a strong sense of community here, and I love it. It's the best part of my day. I especially look forward to my Zumba classes. Lorelle, Mackenzie and Beth are amazing! Highly recommend.
