REVIEWS OF Rainbow Child Care Center of Greer IN South Carolina

If you are looking for Childcare where most of the staff honestly could care less and outwardly shows it, look no further. The power roles here do not even try to “act” like they care about your children (from the moment you walk in the door AFTER enrolling your child, that is!). If you are even slightly aware and feel like you are good at reading people, you will notice this right away. They just want the kids to shut up, sit down, and conform. If your child doesn’t conform quickly enough or has a hard time at transitioning, can’t sit perfectly still, or gets distracted by anything, BEWARE, you are labeled as a hassle that they don’t think they get paid enough to deal with… Every child is different. As a guider of young minds, you are supposed to put forth some effort, just pay attention to detail, and help coach the child through whatever struggle they may be facing. The teacher can’t handle the class size of rambunctious 4-5 year olds, so there isn’t any guidance really. The teacher can’t even stop to talk to your child, rationalize, talk about what made them upset, and really doesn’t even care what the issue was, just as long as whoever is the wild card gets out of her hair and she pushes them away to the office. The director never even knows why the child misbehaved, any details that you as a parent will ask them, or what the whole story of what happened is. A lot of us parents get caught up in the daily routines that we fail to notice all of the “warning signs” that our kids may even be trying to flag us down with. My son couldn’t verbalize all of his big feelings and emotions he was faced with on a daily basis, but I, as his mother, should’ve caught it sooner. It was laid out so clearly, right in front of my face, that he was terribly distraught here. Looking back, his smiles slowly started fading to frowns, his laughter was starting to be replaced by plascent stares with response of “I don’t know”, and the small phrases he relayed to me were that of “The teacher won’t care…I know what she’ll say…She’ll just tell me to go sit down and be quiet or that she doesn’t care”. I tried to coach him and build him up and advise helpful ways to communicate with his teacher. Time after time he came home defeated that nothing was working. I assumed he wasn’t trying hard enough. I punished him for getting in trouble at school and told him he had to act better. I was hard on him. Afterall, he shouldn’t yell at his teachers! But you know what? I think that is the ONLY way he thought he could get them to hear him. No advise I could’ve gave him would’ve changed a single thing. His thought process changed here. He started feeling like nothing he said mattered so why even try to say anything? Needless to say that as his self-confidence level continued to diminish so did his trust in the teachers and “director” (if you want to even call her that) who were placed in his life to guide and help him. I truly believe that this daycare stole my little boys sparkle for way too long. They made him feel worthless. It almost killed me when he told me that his brain must not work right and that he thinks he’s just stupid and that his teachers hate him and aren’t nice so something has to be wrong with him. How the heck does my just turned 5 year old feel all these things? And how the heck could they make an innocent, pure-hearted, optimistic little spirit feel this way? They tried to crush his soul. I can’t believe I let these people “care” for him while I was working hard to pay the $218 a week tuition. I can’t believe I thought this school was going to be the best for his education and development. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Please don’t let your amazing little one go through this.

Rainbow offers after school care for elementary students but I wouldn't recommend sending your kids if they are older than 1st grade. This place is a really nice day care for pre-elementary children... they're just not setup to handle older kids. The facility was nice and everyone who worked there was very nice.

As soon as I come in all the staff members are complaining about wanting to leave early. The director wasn't welcoming and judged me immediately. One look at me and she knew I wouldn't be able to pay $238 a week for tuition.
