We think of Gordon as our third parent, giving our two children the opportunity to grow and take risks in a nurturing environment. The diversity and keen attention to social justice is woven inextricably into the curriculum, resulting in academic excellence that prepares our children for a lifetime of empathy and connection. Modeling lifelong learning, Gordon's teachers are tireless in their pursuit professional development. The practice of teaching to every child is complex, yet they approach each challenge as an opportunity to expand their expertise. We feel that the school is in partnership with our family to grow and nurture our children with joy and playful curiosity.

If you are thinking about schools for your child, you need to look at Gordon. I did not grow up in Rhode Island, and I did not go to private school, so I count myself very lucky to have found out about this place. The place has a smart and thoughtful approach to each of the many stages children go through from age three to fourteen - not having a high school allows them to focus on (and celebrate) younger learners, and the mentoring I got from teachers and fellow parents have been invaluable. As a staff member (I work at Gordon) I have learned so much about what it means to work at a place that is committed to equity and social justice. My oldest daughter just graduated - she started at Gordon age three - and the experience has been wonderful for our whole family.
