Learn the situation before spouting lies the media is not giving the full story the kid was already declined admission due to behavior long before he re applied did they mention the first time he did not disclose that he had hiv also they don't take any children with major health issues as they cover all medical and would be very expensive for them. Also you don't have to have sex to transmit HIV the kid could get hurt at student home and due to laws they couldn't tell that he had HIV so someone could go to help him and get blood in the eyes our elsewhere on a cut our something

Great School!!! My 3 brothers went here. 1 was kicked out for doing some bad things and 2 graduated. My brother is now in college for free because of this school. They provide a home for your kids and your child will be "living" with a married couple and children in the same grade and the same gender. I will be going to this school very soon. They provide you with great and healthy food and atmosphere. I visited this school more than once, they make their own ice cream! For high school student they get there own "apartment" with a budget to go shopping with. High school students are responsible for there own food and needed items like tolitries. They can even get a job there. Love this school.

As a student currently enrolled at MHS, it a school that has its ups and downs like any other place. If you do not have the patience for people, then don't send your children here, other than that it is actually a good school, if you do what you are supposed to. Coming January 27th, 2013, which was my freshman year, I have learned a lot since then, and made a lot of friends who will probably be there for me for the rest of my life. Today, it is hard to believe that I, out of probably thousands of applicants, got into a school like this one. Appreciate it while you can.

This was home from 1984 to 1986. Not long but made a massive impression. I am not an alumni but somewhat active as an associate and the only regret in life I have is getting myself booted on purpose. Real dumb.

No. Just no. Private Institutions are a flaw. They try to act too old timey and represent incorrect morals.

Best School in the Nation! With all the public schools closing down or unavailability for a good education in your city.......Why Not Send your children. The opportunity is endless here for a greater life! My son is loving his right now! So happy he is a Milton Hershey student. Check it out!

I love the school just think some house parents should be chosen a little more carefully and should match with what the students needs in a home life my kids do better in a mellows setting not where screaming but talking as humans instead

I was a student here for 13years! And it was the best 13 years. I made so many friends and experienced so many different things. I went to places kids only imagine of going. The staff, teacher and houseparents become and extended family. Even now 5 year after graduating I keep in contact with my houseparents and teachers. This school saved me from what could have been a mediocre childhood and made mine extraordinary. I would recommend this school to everyone! I learned important values that most schools wont teach you. Its not perfect, but it is so close. Sure you do chores, get put on detentions but everyone has your best interest at heart. I would do it over and over again!

Not everyone can conform to the rules and the structure. I can only speak for myself. I am so thankful for the school. Milton Hershey School taught me many things. Work ethic, self confidence, and how to get along with others. Don't know if I would have even made it through school if I didn't come to MHS. It not a perfect place by any means. But they learn and change when the school needs too. So if you are thinking about sending your child to MHS. I would tell you "give your child a chance".

My daughter recently started attending MHS. And I love it, she is really happy and I feel like it is the best decision that I have ever made.

(Translated by Google) I love this school because milton iso because he was an orphan and did not want other children were equal to it. And her chocolates are schists (Original) Me encanta porque milton iso esta escuela porque el fue huérfano y no quería que los demás niños fueran iguales a el. Y sus chocolates, son esquistos

Both grandsons were enrolled after father's mental Health admission into psychiatric hospital with schizophrenia. The boy entered MHS in first and third grade. Today they are in six and eighth grade. Both with good grades, manners and athletic abilities. I referred many parents and clients to MHS because of the great qualities instilled in my boys.

Two of my children attend this school. It is amazing that a place like this. Children and families given a path out of poverty with opportunities to experience excellence in education, culture, maturity, stability as well as being able to achieve college tuition and a variety of trade skills.

2011 alumni. I experienced the Milton Hershey story for 6 years and this thing being a cult? This school has brought so many memories to children, memories that will forever be with us. We have so many what we call brothers and sisters since that is all we really had there. They would support us through to the end. The staff there are compassionate as long as you show you are willing to grow as an individual. They showed me no matter what back ground you came from, no matter the family life or money everyone can be equal. Yes there are rules but those are in place to try to keep the family safe just like if you were trying to keep your son or daughter safe. The house parents there are very supportive with the kids unless the student doesn't care that's the thing that makes it hard. When I graduated I looked to me left and my right knowing my brothers and sisters come from all over and I probably won't see any of them like I did when I went to school there. People need to look past the money the school has and look at what they stand for. They gave me braces for my teeth, health care, mentors, experiences that I probably won't have again. Over all the school is amazing and wish I had that experience again. If anyone wants to know about my experience I won't lie nor stretch the truth. I've seen family not make it and its sad but those that fight to stay for negative get no where in life.

I graduated this year 2016 from MHS and I never cried so much. The opportunity and experiences are so worth it. Honestly I miss this place everyday. This school is amazing and the friendships here are unbreakable . I thank Milton Hershey for my $80,000 everyday.

AS I read some of the reviews, I have to wonder if they are reviewing the same school that I attended some fifty years ago.I know things have changed since 1950 thru 1957 but some of the comments made by the people who wrote these reviews just don't add up to what it was like when I attended M.H.S. It was a all boys school back then and yes we did live and work on dairy farms. And as far as religious structure went .we all attended the same common church together and then we could go to a church of our choice after.

I was once a student here. I am currently eleven years old, almost twelve. I just ended my sixth grade year. I came to that school January 31st, 2011. I was expelled in August of 2015, terminated because of my behavior. This school WAS my opportunity. And I blew it. This place offers free shelter, clothing and food. And even offer a virtually free college. I would vote this five stars but the only problem is: I'm an atheist. And this school pushes Christianity and Muslim religion choices. I did not agree with that. I was constantly scolded for not praying ever night. And I was constantly pushed to explore new religions. Religions I wasn't interested in. And the school also has problems with homosexuals, Hindus, and people with mental stability issues. Their excuse for this, was "We don't have the money to pay for medicine" I call bullcrap. This school owns Hersheypark. This school owns the Hershey chocolate company. They have billions on billions of dollars. Paying for a damn subscription shouldn't take too much of a toll on them. But other than those small issues, it is an OKAY school. Not the best, but pretty close. Not the worst. So 3 stars it is!
