This is exactly the kind of nurturing, playful and engaging environment I wanted for my little one. Teacher Anette (who is fantastic!) designs activities that encourage my daughter's creativity and asks questions that stimulate her curiosity. Part of being in a co-op is volunteering in the classroom, and I love that I get to see first hand what she is experiencing during her school day. At first, I was anxious about volunteering in the classroom because I have a one-year-old and no one to watch him. Luckily, there are other parents with younger kids at the co-op and we do childcare swaps to cover our volunteer shifts. This is a great community.

Our family loves Tillamook Preschool! This school offers a play-based, mixed-age preschool program that focuses on creating a warm and nurturing community. The space is wonderful and features a great outdoor play area (kids can choose to spend quite a bit of time outside) and a large gym for rainy day play. Teacher Anette is a longtime fixture at the school and her enthusiasm and expertise creates an environment that is low-drama, welcoming, and fun. This co-op is also extremely well run and there is a great mentoring program for new families. Although you are expected to contribute your time to any preschool co-op, Tillamook makes this easy (and enjoyable!) to do, even for parents with unpredictable schedules and other demands.

Our family loves Tillamook Preschool. The kids have so much fun doing art, playing outside and exploring the touch tables. I’m able to schedule my parent helping shifts around my work schedule. It prepared my daughter well for kindergarten. We adore the Tillamook community!

We have been fortunate enough to have both of our kids go to Tillamook over the course of the last three years. Teacher Anette is amazing with each child and manages to always nurture and support each child in the way that best suits them. While our children have learned so much through this special community we have learned even more.

Our family has been a part of this community for less than a year and it's been wonderful for us. Co-ops take time and dedication to run. That time and dedication is evident in each family's commitment to the continuation of the school. This, of course, requires the same from every family. So it may not be for everyone. But those for those who enjoy communal involvement, this is a great way to execute. Two of the main principles that attracted us was the play based learning environment and the cooperative conflict resolution system.
