(Translated by Google) The worst school my daughter there been in brooklyn not recommend very bad alministracion and some lousy teachers, and not to mention management with students of high grade know treat and give advice, just they know suspend the student and speak evil, I recommend this school until senior staff have better ability to treat students and hold meetings with parents and call them to attend, hardly they call parents or send note of the events monthly, always one to call to ask, because they never have a union between master and alministracion. .. thank god my daughters finally re not study at this school. I DO NOT RECOMMEND (Original) La peor escuela que mi hija allá ido en brooklyn no la recomiendo muy mala alministracion y alguno maestros pésimo, y ni se diga del manejo con los estudiantes de alto grado no saben tratarlo y darle consejo, solo saben suspender al estudiante y hablarle mal, no recomiendo esta escuela hasta que el personal de alto rango tenga mejor capacidad de tratar a los estudiantes y hacer reuniones con los padres y llamarlos para que asistan, casi no llaman a los padres, ni mandan nota de lo acontecimientos mensuales, siempre tiene uno que llamar para preguntar, porque nunca tienen una unión entre el maestro y la alministracion. .. gracias a dios al fin mis hijas no volverán estudiar en ésta escuela. NO LA RECOMIENDO

This was by far the worst school that my child and I encountered. If I'd had known what a discrace this school was, I would have NEVER sent my child there! The staff at this school seem to always bungle things up, and never want to take responsibily for their mistakes, and screw ups in which made a mess of our lives. I regret ever sending her there. As a parent all I wanted was to give my child the best education that she deserves, shame on me for not doing the research on this school, not to mention the countless lawsuits that this school has. ( No surprise there )

My son is in his 3rd year at Brooklyn excelsior and I love the school. The teachers really take pride in teaching the kids and making sure they are getting a good education. My son was always a quiet boy and now he started opening up and asking questions. Math was always his hardest subject and now that he is in 4th grade his teacher says he is doing better in math and every day they practice math and ela to prepare for upcoming test.

Horrible , horrible school, victims of bullying are threatened with disciplinary action if they speak up . They are told my administrators not to tell parents or face punishment. Mr Ketcher , a vice principal about two years ago , would use physical and verbal persuasion . This man should not work with children , He is the biggest bully and transgressor. Any child that attends this school will require counseling for PTSD at some point . As stated there are no records because no reports have been filed and they make sure of it

The worst school ever. Ms. Lopez has no patience and always getting rid of children from her class by transferring them to other teachers. Ms. G who is the dean lied to me so that my child wouldn't attend a trip. The staff is unprofessional, unorganized and they just hire all type of young people to work here because the older staff is always leaving. They have no after school for struggling students and the staff gossip a lot. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

This could be a good school but they don't care about struggling parent ..parent have to sacrificed because they don't have after school for the kids.now they partner up with a school an want parent pay almost over 500 dollar for the kids to go to after school ridiculous ..like in a poor neighborhood really

Academically I believe this school is pretty awesome. The only draw back I have is that while learning is most important-kids still need to be kids and there isn’t much provision for that there. My son loves basketball and my other scholars have interests as well-these are things they don’t get to enjoy. So for that I give Brooklyn Excelsior 4 out of 5 stars.

To be honest this school is dumb. System is rigged, horrible staff, horrible principal suspended my Little Sibling. Can't say his or her's identity. Ever since the new staff came everything has changed education wise clothing wise and free time wise.Staff memebers who have not been here for more than a year basically don't know what they are doing.clothes have changed way to much boys wear earrings all the time but all of a sudden they can't girls have wanted to have the chance to be natural with there hair but have gotten shut down and sweaters are sweaters so what does that have to do with our education.We never get breaks we do hard work for 8 hours a day and we ask for 5 minutes to breathe and talk but we can't.we want to be able to open my mouth without a smart kid telling me wrong.BROOKLYN EXCELSIOR CHARTER SCHOOL HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND STUDENTS COMPLAIN ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME BUT THEY DONT DO A DAMN THING.......ITS A SERIOUS HELL HOLE NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILDRREN THERE People who should stay on 6-8 floor Mr.Mann,Mrs.Gabriel,Ms.Haviters,Mr.Lambert, Ms.Hou,Mr.Borough,Mr.Bowlers. If I could rate this school a 0 best believe I would .I graduated last year from 8th grade . Worst year of my life and i lived 14 years that should tell you something . Dr.petty and Mr.theo they are so disrespectful .Mr theo used to call my mom every single day . One time he called my mom for going to my locker .... yea dumb right . Dr petty used to send me to his office everyday and keep me in there for 2-3 hrs basically when it is time to go home . After he walked passed me several times while I am just sitting there he calls my house and lie on my name saying I was being disrespectful things I have never done . Around 10 times he sent me to his office for no reason I was just walking upstairs to my class and he sent me to his office . Lets not forget he suspended me ...FOR NOT HAVING ANYTHING TO WRITE WITH. then he lies to my mother and he also writes on the paper i wasn't doing what I had to do and I was being disrespectful ....a lot of things that was once again not true. Mr .theo is just as bad . i almost got suspended because I came to school late . I have a lot more stories but this should be enough

I am moving my son out of this school my son was diagnose with adhd in April he has episodes an can be a little uncontrollable but I feel like the school has also feel like the school has put a target on my son back constantly lying or exaggerating stories on the things that he is doing they went to try and force me to sign a withdrawal letter without me even finding him a replacement just two days ago also telling me they will expelled him knowing there is 6 weeks left in the school year I will not have him return to this school or even referral anyone to come here and I will report them to all of the boards of education

They need to deal with bully issues here! My child is being bullied. They call me to let me know that they are going on school trip and can't bring her without me because she cries a lot. BUT! They know she is being bullied by other kids who make fun of her call her tantrum girl. The bullies are allowed to go on trips but the ones who they take advantage of get lefted out. The social worker fines time to pull her out of class and question her about the teacher. When she tells the social worker about what the kids do to her she one tell her to ignore them. Deal with bullying!!!!

IF I COULD I WOULD RATE THIS SCHOOL 0 STARS. I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE KINDERGARDEN AND ALL I HAVE EXPERIENCED IS BEING PICKED ON BY THE TEACHERS DEAN AND PRINICIPAL. FOR EXAMPLE WE CAN NEVER TALK DURING LUNCH AND WHEN WE DO WE ONLY HAVE 3 MINUTES TO EAT ALSO IF U COUGH YOU GET SUSPENDED ALSO THEY SAY IF U EAT GUM SEEDS OR USE A SHARPENER YOU WILL GET SUSPENDED. ALSO WE HAVE TO EAT LUNCH IN THE GYM AND WE DONT HAVE AN AUDITORIUM AND. ALSO, JUST TODAY I GOT SUSPENDED BEACUSE 2 KIDS WERE FIGHTING SO ME AND MY FRIEND WERE WITNESS TO THE ISSUE AND THE DEAN AND PRINCIPAL GO "I THINK THESE KIDS NEED TO GET SUSPENDED AS WELL BECAUSE THEY HAD ISSUES WITH THIS KID THAT WAS FIGHTING IN THE PAST SO THATS WHY THEY SHOULD GET SUSPENDED" ALSO WHEN YOU TALK DURING CLASS FOR LIKE 20 SECONDS ABOUT SOMETHING YOU GET SENT TO THE DEANS OR PRINCIPALS OFFICE WITHOUT A WARNING FROM THE TEACHER SAYING STOP TALKING. ALSO THE TEACHERS PICKS CERTAIN KIDS TO GET IN TROUBLE LIKE IF U WAS NEAR A GROUP THAT WAS TALKING U WOULD GET IN TROUBLE ALSO ONE KID WOULD GET IN TROUBLE FOR TALKING WHEN THE INTIRE CLASS WAS TALKING ALSO THEY HAVE CAMERAS IN THE BATHROOMS FOR EXAMPLE DURING ASSEMBLIES THEY SAY TO KIDS STOP FLUSHING THINGS DOWN THE TOLITE AND STOP WRITING ON WALLS SO THEY LOOK ON THE CAMERA TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND EVEN WORST THEY HAVE CAMERAS ABOVE THE STALLS SO U DONT KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD DOING WATCHING US USE THE BATHROOM ALSO THEY SAY ALL KIDS ARE TREATED EQUALLY BUT WHEN SOMEBODY GETS IN TROUBLE THEY WOULDNT HAVE A FAIR TRIAL ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED DONT BASICALLY DONT BRING YOUR KIDS TO DIS CRAPPY SCHOOL U WILL RUIN THEIR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE THIS SCOOL IS BULLPOOP ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the worst school ever. please don't send your kids there. Dr. Petty is very nasty. the staff pretty much are rude with the exception of 2 people. they do not address bullying issues. they love to suspend your children and Mr. brand new to the school Theo is a problem. he loves to harass the children. this a bad school never bring your kids here my child always get suspend for nothing at all if she wear her hair out its a problem , she come to lunch 2 minutes late she gets suspend i am tired of this its annoying he harass my child too much . i try to sit and talk and he tells me he don't want to have a meeting with me nor speak to me he is really disrespectful its something against my daughter he have . they would write my daughter up even when she not in school he suspend her when something don't have nothing to do with her . there was a fight that have nothing to do with her and she still got suspend but the girl that fought got suspended for one day this is what he tells my daughter : you have alot of hair can you put it up so people can see , you don' need to hang around those girl you don't need friend stay by yourself or else your in serious trouble , don't smile , ill do anything to get you out , this is what he say to my daughter she cant laugh , smile , talk & be friend with nobody or else its a problem with him . ever since he came to this school her 8th grade year is all messed up she cant even go to prom or senior stuff that they are having because he doesn't like my daughter . the teachers write me up even when i'm listening they do that because dr.petty tell them to or they going to get fired . we don't got nobody in school to talk to about our problems. the officer even said it's petty ness he is doing.

Such a bad school, the staff has no type of respect, the lunch room is the gym, and fights happen 24/7 at the nearby parks and the school doesn't do anything about it. I've seen a kid pop a blood vessel in both eyes from a fight, and when a group of students from another school decided to mess with the students from this one they did nothing 2 girls were physically assaulted by the students one girl had her glasses slapped off as well, and another called derogatory terms, and it's unacceptable.

This school is the best school in the neighborhood. I had my son in his zoned public school around the corner from this one and he was struggling. The class size was huge and there was no structure. What a change at Brooklyn excelsior. Under the leadership of Dr. Petty this school is amazing. The teachers really care for the students and to top it all off the school is so clean you can eat off of the floor. My son loves it and is so happy to go to school now. I can’t stress how much we love this school.

Went up there to enroll my sons over the summer and immediately decided not to. The two women in the office looked miserable. Not one smile. Not one “Hi mom and boys how are you. Are you excited about your new school?” .... not even a hi. That made me weary about the rest of the staff. We ended up picking a different school. (School ends at 3 and they don’t have after school though they can connect you to after school programs which you have to pay for. )

Brooklyn excelsior charter school is an uncivilized school, and no one should ever send their child there. They really dont care about a struggling parent. Imagine calling child service and suspending a child because of late attendance. I am a mother of 10, and I'm the only one who takes the five younger ones to school. They are so inconsiderate and, no one should ever send their child under a miserable-learning environment with these negative principal and staff members.
