Beautiful campus with lots of trees and grass. Awesome weather with almost no winter. Cheaper than UNM (a lot cheaper) and the people are a lot nicer. Cost of living is low, which makes school and living more affordable. Quality education at a great price.

If you are an international student, don't choose NMSU. (PERIOD) They hate international and so will try everything from stopping you to get an internship or full-time job. The ISSS dept not allow you to take CPT or OPT. ISSS at NMSU keep coming up with new rules every time. They do not encourage CPT. The university doesn't allow international to go for CPT in the first year and the final semester. So you are left with only one semester and it's difficult to get one in that specific semester. They don't allow OPT after CPT. So in case if you get a full-time offer after internship, you cannot join them unless you come back to school spend one semester and then go to the employer. No employer waits for such a long time. If you are a US citizen and do not care about quality of education and looking for a cheap university, you can choose NMSU. It's a money making business. The university su... The education is poor and the rules for international is so strict. Racism and discrimination.

NMSU suffers from some of the same problems as any state, research university, such as faculty spending more time on research grants than "growing" students. That said, this is an incredible university for various engineering and business programs particularly.

If you're interested in distance education, move on from NMSU. You'll be last in line for every service and even turned away from some. Their Veterans organization won't even talk to you if you aren't attending the school on campus. Oh and if you plan on graduating in a certain amount of time, they'll decide not to offer the classes you need to graduate and not offer any alternatives. Advisors routinely put distance students as their last priority as well. If you want to attend NMSU, do it in person or not at all.

DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT PLACE??? I have heard a lot of things about New Mexico State University! I have heard that they have an elusive dinosaur breeding program in their agriculture department. The dinosaurs here are bread for speed, meat and amusement purposes. It is so fun to think about how fun it would be to ride a triceratops!

Went there for undergrad. They have great programs. Tuition is cheap and they really care about students. Much better than UNM which I am currently at for grad school. Have cleaner campus and better business school and gym that doesn't look like it is in Africa. Had great experience and learned a lot and knew department heads by name.

While I attended the university, I was going through a difficult time in my life. NMSU worked with me, and helped me more than words could ever express. A wonderful university with even better professors, TAs, and administration. The school experience was -and will always be- a blessing in my life.

The curriculum is good and there are some great Professors. There are a also a lot of unprofessional professors who bring their personal problems into work and are unusually cruel towards their students (not exaggerating). The physical buildings and property are well kept. The parking rules and enforcement is absurd example: you cannot park on the street without a pass, you can only park in the Free dirt lot parking. The main issue with the free parking is that, the spaces are too close so people will hit your car with their door. I would always have new marks on my car. Also, you cannot fully rely on the academic advisers, an example: I asked how to sign up to write an undergrad Thesis (3 credits), which is on the curriculum.. I was told, "Umm... no on ever does that just find something else". Also, the advisers never noticed or cared that I only needed 1 more class to minor in Bio, when I transferred, so instead I just choose a new minor because I was new and didn't know how the system worked.Overall the best thing about the school is the property, it's a chill place and nice escape from the desert atmosphere of El Paso.

Fun place to walk. Interesting items are found in the most unusual places. Beautiful trees. Varied terrain. Several places to eat. Sometimes you might come upon a lecture open to the public. Be sure to stop at the Chile Institute to sample and buy some interesting for the taste buds salsas and other condiments.

I wanted my 200th Google Review to be of NMSU. I had a lot of good times here, learned a lot, and made a lot of good friends. Thanks to the education I received here I now live in a giant city full of growth, beaches, big buildings, and perfect weather. I started a tech company that is growing exponentially and might even end up with branches in LC and EP. Thanks NMSU.
