GREAT SCHOOL! All 3 of my children have attended The Children's Academy over the past 7 years. The Children's Academy provides a strong academic foundation for preschoolers in a warm and nurturing environment. The teachers are experienced and extremely attentive; they take the time to get to know and understand each child's strengths, as well as his/her needs and areas of growth. In all 3 classrooms, I've found that the teachers maintain a really nice balance between being an authoritative figure and a friend. They treat the children with respect, and in return the students are kind, courteous, and well-behaved. Truly a positive learning environment for preschool children! This is our last year and we will miss this school tremendously!

We LOVE the this school! Over the past 8 years all 3 of our children have attended this school from the Little Room to the Bid Room. Our youngest is completing his Kindergarten year this spring. We adore the teachers! They are all nurturing in different ways. All 3 of our children have unique learning styles and each one has been able to thrive at this special school. They approach each child has an individual with unique talents and acknowledge how children learn in different ways. The teachers here meet the child wherever he or she is in the journey of learning and discovery!

This was not a good school for my child, or really any child. Imaginative play is discouraged by the teachers and children are often reprimanded for using their imaginations in learning and play. The outside equipment is only used in the warmest months of the year. When questioned about this the faculty responds that the school is too focused on academics to allow outside time or imaginative play, which shows a complete lack of understanding of the way pre-schoolers learn. If you go to their website you will see most of the children pictured look bored and unhappy, which is the general attitude of the children in this school. The teachers would rather have quiet children than active or engaged ones. My son attended this school for 2 years and learned almost nothing. We moved him to a pre-school with fun and toys and he learned to write his name and basic reading skills in under a month. The student/teacher ratio is also not what they claim. There are over 30 students in the big room. While there are four teachers assigned to this room, two function as administrators also and spend very little time in the classroom.

We joined The Children’s Academy, Springfield last year and we really could not be happier. Our introvert daughter’s self confidence increased dramatically. With each passing day, we saw her becoming more independent and more involved. Now, she happily walks to her classroom by herself and strikes up play, with her classmates. We love that she works with different teachers, and experiences different personalities daily. The school is introducing different languages, geography, and STEM concepts. It is a lovely and nurturing environment, where the teachers truly care for the children.

My daughter has been going to Children's Academy for 2 years now. It has been an amazing experience. Every day she brings back wonderful activity sheets from school. She is very proud to show her work to us. I am amazed to see the variety of activities done at school. The curriculum is very true to the Montessori approach. My daughter was initially very shy and reluctant in making friends. The teachers have really helped her in this respect. Now she has wonderful friends at school. I find all the teachers to be very committed and friendly. They are always available to discuss progress/issues. The school invites and engages parents to participate in school activities. I really recommend this school!

My daughter went to the Childrens' Academy school for a year and was a student in the Big room. Its a great school which provides nurturing, loving and welcoming learning environment for the young minds to grow. In the last one year, I observed my daughter started reading and writing alphabets, write her own name, full sentences, read and write numbers. Other than academics she also showed all-around development. School is not money minded unlike many private schools in the area and put well being of kids first and foremost. Teachers are super friendly and very experienced and parents community is active. Overall very satisfied with the experience and would like to say big thank you to the director of doing wonderful job.

I have had my children at The Children's Academy since 2011. The school is amazing. The staff there is so caring and kind. The school incorporates traditional Montessori learning such as grace and courtesy and the freedom of self direction with current structured lesson time to ease transition to public school. My children were well prepared academically but also they have grown into inquisitive and courteous helpers. It is clear that a Children's Academy education has set them on a path of life long interest in learning and has instilled in them the values of community. I am so sad that this next school year will be my last. They really are something special over there.

Both my children have had a wonderful experience at The Children's Academy. My eldest child began there at age 2.5 and continued through Kindergarten. My second child also began at 2.5 and has been there for two years. I visited MANY schools, both Montessori and traditional, before making the decision to enroll my children. However, as soon as my Academy tour was over, I signed up my 2 year old on the spot. The Academy has provided my children with a sound foundation of not only academics, but independence, critical thinking, and decision making. Children are allowed to pursue their interests, making them confident about their abilities while enjoying the process that goes along with it. The Academy staff has been stellar with my family. Their attention to detail, constant communication and guidance has helped us feel at ease with our children's early childhood care. Even now, with a third grader, I continue to see the impact a Montessori education has made on my child's focus, listening skills and thinking process. I am so proud to be a Children's Academy parent and know my children will always feel at home when they walk through those doors.

The teachers are experienced and work extremely well together as a team. They're warm and kind yet very good at maintaining order. The curriculum is very faithful to the Montessori approach. My daughter has been extraordinarily happy at Children's Academy! As a preschooler, she now reads very confidently and can do addition and subtraction up to 20 -- but more importantly, she feels comfortable, safe, and appreciated in the positive environment of the Children's Academy.

We just finished up our second year with The Children’s Academy. Our five year old and three year old are enrolled and we’ve seen so much growth in both of them from their time here. They’ve picked up on things immediately at school that hadn’t been clicking when I worked with them independently. Colors and shapes, math, writing, fine motor skills, social skills are a few of the things I’ve seen my kids make tremendous progress with in just a few hours a day. I really appreciate the Montessori method and it makes me happy to see my kids excited to go to school. They’re learning without even realizing it and having fun in the process. The Children’s Academy is giving my kids a strong foundation to not just be great students, but to be capable, independent, and confident people. Thank you for creating a safe, caring space my kids can thrive in. We are looking forward to the next school year!
