I came to this school when I was in 3rd grade. I am in 8th grade now and I think that our teachers have done an excellent job of preparing us for high school. I think, though, that Mr. Farmer may have been a better principal. The House system that we have in place now as well as the assigned seating at lunch and other random things don't really seem to have any use and just kind of tick people off. Mr. Morris has been an excellent teacher for two years and he prepares us for the real world. Although we have some good staff, we don't have the best. Some teachers could definitely improve and some of the Support Staff could be nicer/ friendlier. This school is very good, there are very minimal fights, and kids who do cause problems are promptly asked to leave. The higher ranking teachers (not naming names) don't seem to really know what they are doing and don't seem to know how to punish middle schoolers and use odd ways to go about it, but besides this it is a very good school! I recommend this school for anyone, but this school does not tolerate misbehavior. :D

Great school and amazing staff my son has learned soo much and everyone is at my sons best interest .... I have a friend who’s child is attending a private school and this school and the private school are pretty much doing the same thing and teaching the same stuff .. I love this school!

I have been a student at somerset for 3 years and I do not like it at all. This school has a horrible lunch and today the corn dogs were cold some of the teachers are great but the staff are not good. The lunch room is a mess and if you are in 7th grade then you do not have P.E I do not recommend sending your kid to this school take my advice.

I have been a student at this school for 6 years now and Its not too bad of a school to be honest but It used to be better. Some of the newer staff are rude and for some reason feel the need to get kids in trouble for reasons so minor it just becomes a burden on admin. I have been sent to the office maybe 10 times in the past 6 years and I only got in trouble two of those times.The dean Mr.Teravest is understanding realizes when its not a real issue and just lets you go. Some of the teachers here are pretty cool and we've had some cool teachers in the past but for some reason they don't last very long. Students are very invested in unnecessary drama and some try to act ghetto when they aren't. The student just sit around and like to talk about stuff that they shouldn't and because of the the new rule that we can't use our phones outside and day they will still use them but try to hide it and most of the time get away with it and if they don't will just steal it back. If you are thinking about putting your child in this school go ahead and do it the education is very good but try to make sure your child knows how to stay away from the wrong people.

This school is amazing, I go here and I'm planning to stay for 8th too. The teachers here are amazing, the students (most students) and really nice and the Staff is pretty nice too! They give us Chromebooks. If you break one, no worries! It's not a ton of money to fix it. It's a really fun school and I can't wait to see how my year next year looks!

I don't like being told that I dissapoint my teacher and have made the school look horrible. Kids try to act ghetto when they aren't. everyone is loud and annoying. the education is good though and some of the teachers are okay although some are very annoying.

I am a student at Somerset Stephanie for 3 years I absolutely hate it not only because of homework some of the teachers are very bad at there jobs and don't rely on teaching us and what there social life are also I'm giving this a bad review because especialy the principle Ms.Norlan she gives me so much stuff that I don't do I have probably been sent to the office about 50 times and probbaly my fault about 2 times and I know I am not the only person that this has happened to some of the people have had to leave to a school half way across town because of how bad this school is if you are reading this and you are planning to bring you kid don't do it it will be a very bad mistake go to any other school just not this one.

This school is does a phenomenal job when I comes to teaching and learning, but when coming to this school it’s extremely hard to avoid drama. There is constant non-stop drama left and right, it doesn’t matter if your the perfect student your most likely still going to get dragged into it . There is plenty of good people stick with them and you’ll have an ok experience and cut off the negative people at that school . I went to that school for 2 years then I left because I was fed up of there nonsense and I went to the principals office (when farmer was still there ) over 6 times for some dumb reason because I had been getting severely bullied and these bullies we’re making up things about me and things that i supposedly said to my other peers. Also I recommend not eating the lunch there because first off it’s dreadful and disgusting, and I had the school lunch there 1 TIME and I was out for a week because I got sick from it . So I highly suggest if your in middle school or elementary school take my advice ( stay with a good group of people, don’t eat the lunch, and try not to get into to much drama ) so u have an OK experience.

I think it's a good school, although there is a lot of drama. I know that all of my teachers are there to help me and they can steer me in the right direction and not the wrong direction. Most of the kids are fine and so are the teachers, but for me, I wish that the drama wasn't so high. I'm also not a huge fan that grades are seeming to just be number 1 all the time, and I can understand that since if our grades aren't high enough, we won't go to the next grade level, but sometimes it's so much always grades grades grades! However, I do appreciate the help of our teachers, as MAP scores have been some of the highest in Nevada, showing the teachers care for you. Overall, while grades are brought up much more then to my liking, it is understandable, and if you avoid drama, you will enjoy this school.

This schools education is good we have one of the highest map scores in Nevada, but other that that this school has too much drama. Like everyday there some sort of drama and you can't get away from it, and some of the students are disrespectful to each other and to teachers. This schools bully used to be great, there was not bullying but now its way worse. If you decide to come to this school try and stay out of the drama and just focus on your education.
