My daughter has only been there over 7 months but has blossomed into a confident electric guitar player because of SOR GV. Andy and the staff are supportive and encourage a creative culture in which the kids can be themselves and thrive. She never wants to miss class only to strive to be there early, as not to miss anything. SOR GV and the staff have inspired these kids to push themselves to learn, while ensuring that they enjoy themselves. The recent end of season show not only showcased talent, but demonstrated pride for success and the love of the music. We would never go anywhere else! :)

My daughter has been attending School of Rock Green Valley for just over a year and it was the best decision that we ever made! She has made some amazing friends and has found a space to call her own! She is always welcome there and encouraged to come in anytime to practice. The staff are incredible and always supportive of our little drummer girl. In the short time she has been there, she has become an awesome drummer and musician, playing songs she loves!...and can tell people that she has played multiple times on the Las Vegas Strip! How many 11 year olds can say that?? We owe so much to School Of Rock Green Valley...I can't thank them enough for what they have done for our Molly!!! Andy, Emily, And Doug....we are truly thankful for you and how much you care for our kid!

School of Rock Green Valley has introduced my daughters to all genres of music. They have fallen in love with musicians that they otherwise would not have been introduced to. The instructors have given them confidence in music and performing, which has reflected in all aspects in their daily life.

School of Rock is so unique in not only how extremely talented and caring the teachers and everyone that helps make this school a success are . It also is so unique and amazing because the kids are so involved, all awesome kids being able to display how talented and dedicated they are as the teachers are. This is the best thing I could have done for my very talented daughter who is a singer that was just wanting to learn, grow, perform and believe in herself, which she has accomplished being in this program. I look forward to her growth in this amazing school.

Over the last 6 years, my daughter has played various instruments from classical piano to electric guitar. She's had 3 piano teachers and 2 guitar teachers. Getting her to practice was one of the most challenging things for me as a parent to do. I reflected back to my youth and realized that I sounded just like my parents telling me to practice and I knew my nagging was futile. I decided to give this school a try and WOW, what a difference in my child's interest level. Not only are the teachers great with kids but they're teaching kids to perform with each other. What fun is an instrument if you can't play music with other people? I took over 11 years of classical piano and could never play music for others to enjoy with me. I didn't want this to be my daughter's experience too. She's playing contemporary music which she can hear on the radio. She has band rehearsals once a week at the school along with a private lesson on a separate day. The kids are broken up into different bands that work together for a semester on a group of songs. At the end of the semester they perform these songs together on stage at a proper venue. Frankly, there's a little peer pressure to practice since the kids come together once a week to play. My daughter has been practicing because she likes the music and because she doesn't want to be the weakest link. I'm not nagging her like I used to and I can tell her interest level is waaaaay up. Pricing feels expensive at first but it's actually in line with other schools that offer similar instruction hours. We had a good guitar teacher before that was less expensive but my daughter had little motivation to practice. He also didn't give her any opportunity to perform which I think is very important to music education. School of Rock gives the students an opportunity to learn from seasoned performers. I'd recommend this to any student looking to increase their skills, find their voice and play music with other people.

They've built confidence by being on stage as well as mastering their instruments. Andy is so helpful and makes us all feel at home. Doug and the other teachers are all so encouraging and help the kids in any way they can! We are so happy to be part of the SOR GV family!!

BEWARE in the past year this place has changed from a place where your kids love to learn to play music, make friends & put on great shows to a place that is extremely miserable & unhappy. My son now dreads going there every week, and only goes so he can see his few friends that are still left & the 3 instructors that have hung on but another is now leaving. I have been a SOR Parent for 6+ years and have NEVER been more unhappy with the entire program than this past year. This is a expensive program that you chose to enroll your child into. The current General Manager has reduced the The performance program which used to be amazing. In the past you used to have a 3 hour rehearsal once a week with a midseason and BIG end of season show. Now it is a 2 hour rehearsal once a week no midseason show and a short show at end of season. Yet you still pay the same amount of money and performance fees for much less program. Scheduling make up lessons is a nightmare and they act like they are doing you a favor by scheduling the lessons if you are lucky enough get them scheduled at all. They are usually with another instructor the won't know your child or the music you child needs to work on so much of the time is wasted getting to know your child, music & ability. If you are lucky enough to have a child that excels and wants to succeed you have to hope they fit the image to be supported. This is all depends on the GM liking you because she rules with a Iron fist and controls everything including trying to crush your child's love of music. This means little to no support from the school to achieve your goals as a musician both inside & outside the school. The GM thrives on controlling every aspect of the children and their futures as musicians this includes denying them opportunities to succeed. If you want to succeed you have to find your own opportunities and in doing so lose all support from this school by doing so. THE GM never builds up the kids but is quick to bully and take them down. Alumni are forbidden to enter this school and visit. They are told they are unwelcome and have to leave the premises. This saddens my son who is aging out of the program and will NOT be welcome to come and see his friends there any longer. Aging out or graduating from this program used to be a special event(it was for my older son 3 years ago). After 6+ years and 2 children in this program it breaks my heart to NOT RECOMMEND SOR GV to people. Please look around at other music schools before making the decision enroll your child. There are lots of options out there now. SOR GV is no longer the great place it once was a few years ago.

Awesome school! The environment is positive, fun and exciting all of the time. Andy and Eric are so talented and kind. The whole staff is amazing! All of the teachers here are unique. My family is happy to be a part of such an awesome group of people. Can't wait to see where we go from here! Definitely come check them out!
